Panama Jack Body Mists: Salty Air & Summer

This summer, I have really been getting into body mists. It’s been so hot and humid that my traditional year-round perfumes seem too heavy and inappropriate for this particular summer.

Enter Panama Jack! I thought of Panama Jack as solely a brand for sunscreens and suntan oil. I’m not sure if fragrances are new to Panama Jack, but they are certainly new-to-me!

A couple of weeks ago, I received a goodie bag of fragrant Panama Jack goodies. Today, I’ll talk about the two body mists I was sent.

Both come in plastic pump spray bottles, handy for tossing in a beach bag or bringing to the gym. Each bottle has an evocative photo illustrating the scent concept. It’s easy to place yourself in the photo’s setting and feel the warm summer air and the cool water lapping your feet. To me, the photos evoke Hawaii, but actually they could be pix from anywhere along the seashore.

The Panama Jack Body Mists are called Body Mist for All, gender neutral scents. Since I prefer unisex scents, that’s fine with me.

There are three scent this season, and I received two:

This year, I think Panama Jack changed the name of “Endless Summer” to “Summer”, and there’s a third scent called Crashing Waves. At several retailers, there are other Body Mists from Panama Jack (e.g. Endless Summer, Seashore) for sale as well – perhaps those are from last year?

Salty Air

Salty Air suits me very well. In fact, I prefer it among the two body mists from Panama Jack that I now own. It has some of the fragrance notes that I often seek out. Here’s the description of Salty Air on the Panama Jack website:

“The scent of Salty Air, a woody, floral, musky scent, is a true escape from reality that brings you right to a beach with a tropical drink in hand. Top notes of lime and tequila are juicy and fresh. Middle notes are soft florals while base notes of sand, wood and musk are earthy and calming.”

Fragrance Notes:

  • Top Notes: Tequila, Lime
  • Middle Notes: Floral
  • Base Notes: Sand, Guaiac Wood, Musk

Though Panama Jack’s description mentions tequila and lime, to me it smells just like the salt air at the beach. The base notes stand out most to me, and the scent is definitely earthy, calming and oh-so-relaxing. Love it!

Summer

With fruity and floral notes, Summer seems slightly more feminine to me, especially when first sprayed. But the dry down is decidedly gender-neutral. I would describe it as a “green” scent.

Panama Jack’s website describes it as follows”

“Panama Jack Summer, a fresh, aromatic, fruity scent, will leave you feeling like summer truly never has to end. Notes of magnolia, pear, & grass will leave you with a cool, refreshing scent all year long. Perfect on a hot summer day or during the cold of winter to remind you of those endless summer days!”

Fragrance Notes:

  • Top Notes: Apple, Pear
  • Middle Notes: Magnolia, Rose
  • Base Notes: Grass, Rosemary

Panama Jack Summer reminds me of Lilly Pulitzer summer clothes, especially the dresses!

More Body Mist Info

The bottles of Body Mist for All contain 8.4 fl. oz./250 ml. They’re big bottles that will definitely last this summer and maybe next, so you can spray with abandon! Body Mists are lighter than perfumes or eau de toilette so they don’t last quite as long. But I must say that these two mists linger for quite a while.

The retail prices vary according to where you purchase. On the Panama Jack website, they are priced at $12.95 each with free shipping at $20+. You can also buy Panama Jack Body Mists for All at Macy’s and Walgreens.

  1. These sound wonderful for this hot summer. I agree with you that perfumes just feel kind of heavy in this weather, and that makes body mists the perfect way to wear a light veil of fragrance when it is hot and humid!

    1. Yes, a “light veil of fragrance”, as you so elegantly stated, is just the thing for a hot, humid summer!
