Patchology Hydrating 5 Minute Mask

I’ve been working in my yard a lot lately trying to get it ready for the winter. In spite of planting new grass in the spring, there are areas that need more soil and more seed. In addition, my gardens need to be cleaned up before winter. I finally bit the bullet and tried to dig up the Japanese anemones that are aggressive growers that take over the garden and have stalks that are 7 feet tall. I know in the spring, the roots I missed will still try to grow, but I’ll get them then. I planted several new plants that I hope will get established before the first frost.

As a result, my face gets really dirty when I’m out there digging in the dirt. So I’ve been washing it a lot with my summer gel cleanser that I’m trying to use up before it gets cold out. Last night, my face felt rather dry. I went searching through my stash, and I found the perfect solution: Patchology Hydrating 5 Minute Mask.

Patchology Masks

Patchology makes oodles of masks for face, hands and feet. Just for face alone, they make illuminating, brightening, soothing, anti-acne, hydrating, ultra hydrating, and anti-aging masks. Their face masks are sheet masks.

I recently received a new Patchology FlashMasque Brightening Mask from the popup Conscious Beauty Collective’s natural, organic, cruelty-free products store at the Natick Mall in Massachusetts.

But I am saving that mask for another occasion. Last night, I was after hydration.

Patchology FlashMasque Hydrating 5 Minute Mask

I keep my masks in a makeup bag so I know where they are. I reached for the Patchology Hydrating 5 Minute Mask. In fact, I was thrilled that it was a 5 minute mask because I didn’t think I wanted to have to relax in bed for 20 minutes with a sheet mask.

I removed the mask from the envelope, and placed it on my face. I don’t always love sheet masks because they often don’t fit me. The Patchology Hydrating 5 Minute Mask did fit me on the eyes, nose and mouth. It was a little big around the sides and jawline as you can see from the requisite hideous sheet mask photo below.

The Hydrating Mask was very cooling. Because I try to keep the heat low in my house, I was kind of chilly when I put the mask on. But after a few minutes, it felt very refreshing. I had intended to keep the mask on for the 5 minutes. I even set my timer for 5 minutes. But when the timer went off, I decided I was so comfortable wearing the mask and relaxing with the cooling sensation, I continued to lie on my bed watching TV for about a half hour!

I finally removed the mask, and I left the remaining hyaluronic acid gel on my face till it was fully absorbed. I definitely wanted to get the full benefit from the mask. My skin felt plumped and refreshed.

Before the gel was fully absorbed, I followed up with my Space Touch Vega red light device so that the gel would sink in better.

Patchology Hydrating 5 Minute Mask Ingredients

Patchology’s advanced masque material accelerates the delivery of essential ingredients Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin B5 to improve elasticity and smooth skin in just 5 minutes. I’m completely down with that!

The following are the mask’s hero ingredients, and my skin needed all three:

  • hyaluronic acid: hydrates skin to help improve elasticity
  • vitamin b5: softens, smooths and moisturizes
  • betaine: helps skin retain moisture for superior hydration

Here’s the full ingredient list so you can make sure the ingredients are right for you:

water, glycerin, dipropylene glycol, 1,2-hexanediol, trehalose, betaine, panthenol, ethylhexylglycerin, tocopheryl acetate, butylene glycol, peg-60 hydrogenated castor oil, propanediol, inositol, sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer, taurine, hydrolyzed glycosaminoglycans, sodium hyaluronate, angelica gigas root extract, cimicifuga racemosa root extract, glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice) root extract, morus alba bark extract, paeonia lactiflora root extract, phellinus linteus extract, polygonum multiflorum root extract, scutellaria baicalensis root extract, sesamum indicum (sesame) seed extract, sophora flavescens root extract, benzyl glycol, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, hyaluronic acid, xanthan gum, fragrance (parfum), raspberry ketone

LOL not really bad. When I apply a mask I lean back in my recliner and go to sleep 🙂
