Paula’s Choice Perfect Cleansing Oil and Giveaway!

Facial cleansing oils are all the rage. In fact, I’ve got quite a collection. Recently, Paula’s Choice joined the party with their version, and it was worth waiting for.

On looks alone, Paula’s Choice Perfect Cleansing Oil makes you want to use it right away. It comes in a clear, heavy plastic pump bottle, and the oil within looks clean and glistening. It contains a combination of 5 natural oils:

  • sunflower
  • coconut
  • meadowfoam
  • jojoba
  • grapeseed.

The resulting cleansing oil is amazingly lightweight. And like all Paula’s Choice products, it is fragrance free!

Lately, I had been finding that using micellar water and even following up with a separate cleanser, I sometimes still have traces of foundation left on my skin. Using Perfect Cleansing Oil, my makeup comes off completely and leaves my face clean as a whistle and velvety soft. In fact, during the nice warm weather we’re still having, I can sometimes skip the moisturizer afterwards or certainly use less.

Some cleansing oils lather when you add water, but Perfect Cleansing Oil doesn’t lather. It does emulsify, and it turns a little milky. For me, lather is not required.

Because I have problems with my eyes due to dry eye and everything makes my eyes hurt, I don’t use cleansing oil to remove my eye makeup. But if you have normal eyes, you certainly could use it as an eye makeup remover to remove all your makeup in one step.

two bottles of Paula's Choice Perfect Cleansing Oil, neversaydiebeauty.com

Paula’s Choice Perfect Cleansing Oil contains 4 fl. oz./118 ml, and because so little oil is needed to do the job, it will last a long time. It’s priced at $25. Another thing I love about Paula’s Choice is that they have frequent 20% off sales (like they do right now) and free shipping with no minimum purchase! As always, Paula’s Choice is a cruelty-free brand.

Ingredients: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (emollient/texture enhancer), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil (hydration/non-fragrant plant oil), MIPA-Laureth Sulfate (cleansing agent), Laureth-3 (emulsifier), Laureth-7 Citrate (cleansing agent), Triethylhexanoin (hydration), Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil (non-fragrant plant oils), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter (emollient), Tocopherol (vitamin E/antioxidant), Phenoxyethanol (preservative), Ethylhexylglycerin (hydration

I’ve said this before: Paula’s Choice is one of my favorite skincare brands because the products are no-nonsense, efficacious, affordably priced, fragrance-free, and cruelty-free. Plus the Paula’s Choice product line has a million skincare products with something for everyone and every skin type. Head over to the Paula’s Choice website and take a look. If you haven’t tried Paula’s Choice yet, you must! And if you’re just getting started with the brand, you can call for a consultation. They have estheticians and consultants who can steer you in the right direction over the phone: 800.831.4088.

I have never tried a cleansing oil before. Usually I use a foaming face wash or Dermalogica cleanser. I have tried and love several of the products in the Paulas’s Choice line. This could be a new favorite.

    1. Cleansing oil is a very interesting multitasker: makeup remover, serum, moisturizer. Sometimes I use cleansing oil as part of my double cleanse system: I remove my makeup with the cleansing oil and then follow up with a foaming face wash like you mentioned. You can vary how you use it based on how your skin is feeling that day! Glad you entered, Sandy! Good luck xo

I just finished up my last cleansing oil. I’d love to try PC’s because I know that she puts nothing but goodness in her products. I don’t have to worry about any sensitizing or pore-clogging bad guys.

    1. Well said, Lynne! I feel the same way about Paula’s Choice. I know you’d enjoy the new cleansing oil. Thanks for entering and good luck!

      1. Lynne B says:

I know that PC does a lot of research and is a big believer in combining beneficial ingredients together for maximum efficacy. I hate that prices have been steadily increasing.

        1. I’ve heard that prices had gone up from others, Lynne, but I hadn’t noticed it myself maybe because I am mostly repurchasing new or newish products. Also, I only purchase from PC when they’re doing 20 or 25% off and free shipping. I think the price point is fair with many affordable products/around the same price point as Olay. There are a few products from the line that I use that are pretty pricey, so I make them last as long as possible. The company was sold a few years ago, and I don’t know who the owners are. I’m sure that accounts for the price increase that you mentioned.

          1. Lynne B says:

Yes, Allison, I agree that it’s probably because the company was sold. I still visit both her site and Beautypedia but take her reviews with a grain of salt.
