Paula’s Choice RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment

There are some skincare products that are an instant hit for me,

and Paula’s Choice RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment is one of them. I’ve been using it for more than three months, so I’ve got plenty of experience with this terrific treatment product.

Paula’s Choice RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment contains 5% AHA/Glycolic Acid and is suitable for both normal and dry skin. It’s not the least bit irritating. 5% AHA is what I think of as a “starter” percentage of glycolic acid. Because my skin is somewhat sensitive, I find 5% to be the perfect amount for me.

According to the product label, Daily Smoothing Treatment:

  • smooths wrinkles
  • reduces multiple signs of skin aging
  • reveals radiant skin

For me, it makes my skin feel smoother and softer. My wrinkles don’t feel as deep. And my skin does look brighter. It feels better all around. Because the product is an exfoliator, I believe that it helps my other skincare products work better by removing dead skin cells even when I don’t have time to use another physical or chemical exfoliator or scrub.

The medium weight beige-orange cream is not heavy on the skin, and it dries quickly. I tend to use it only at night because I use a vitamin C serum during the day, but you can use it twice a day if you prefer.

Paula’s Choice RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment contains 50 ml/1.7 fl. oz. and is priced at $33. As I mentioned, I’ve been using it for more than 3 months and there’s plenty left in the pump bottle. It’s a keeper for me!

Paula’s Choice Brand

I’ve written about Paula’s Choice skincare products many times in the past. I honestly think Paula’s Choice gives you the most bang for your buck when it comes to skincare. The products are a good value and are generally affordable. Plus Paula’s Choice has frequent 15-20% off sales and free shipping. Paula’s Choice products are fragrance-free and cruelty-free.

When I first started blogging, I discovered Paula Begoun’s huge rating and review system for all brands of skincare products on the market. I found it to be indispensable. I figure if she and her staff have tested so many different skincare products, she would know what to include and what to avoid in her own skincare line. Oddly enough, I can’t find the rating and review online now. Perhaps with the growth of her own product line, it no longer made sense for her Research Team to rate other’s products since they had a stake in the game. At any rate, the Paula’s Choice website still has a huge Ingredient Dictionary, and it gives tips on skincare and makeup issues as well. Definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already.

  1. That is a great price! I think the brand Neostrata has a similar product but it’s quite pricey!

  4. Good Friday morning…….☀️🌻☕️ I love Paula’s Choice I use two of her products: Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Gel (All skin types) with Glycolic Acid and Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Salicylic Acid (All skin types) both are exfoliants. I use them mainly at night. If you want really good prices on Paula’s Choice products check out QVC, you can read a lot of reviews there. They carry the Resist. 🙋🏻❤️

    1. I’m glad you mentioned the Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Gel – that would be the “step up” product for me to try next when I finish the 5%. A couple of years ago, I tried going from 5% to either 10 or 15% in the Exuviance/NeoStrata line and the higher percentage was too big a leap. Yes, QVC is a great place to buy all beauty products! I’ll have to see if they sell singles (one product rather than a collection) of the products I’m looking for!

      1. DiEtta says:

Allison they sell most products alone and not in sets. Check them out. I find that their prices are the best for most beauty items. As you can see I am a “BEAUTY JUNKIE!” 😱💅🏻💄I’m off to do some crocheting today working on a pattern “Easiest Ever Infinity Scarf.” 🙋🏻I’ll send you the pattern…….

      2. Laura Sorvillo says:

I agree with Dietta,QVC is a good place to purchase PC products and as singles. With easy pay it’s a no brainer! 🙂 I’ll have to check out the 8% AHA gel if it’s a daily product, maybe that would be my step up from the 10 AHA weekly??

        1. DiEtta is definitely right about QVC as a great place to purchase beauty products. They almost always beat everyone else prices. I don’t shop there as much because I’m usually trying to keep up my Ulta Platinum and Sephora VIB memberships, but I’d probably be better off doing more shopping at QVC! Certainly after using 10% even on a weekly basis, your skin could probably tolerate the 8% on a daily rather than going down to the 5%. Just curious, do you use the 2% BHA liquid as an anti-blemish product or for resurfacing?

          1. Laura Sorvillo says:

I use it for resurfacing although I haven’t had my monthly blemish in months. 🙂 I just have this compulsion to buy wrinkle reducing products in hoprss of finding the fountain of youth even though I KNOW it doesn’t exist, lol. Someday I’ll learn…… Hopefully. Rainy and chilly here all weekend, blah,. Hope you have a great one. Xo

  5. I’ve heard so many great things about Paula’s Choice, especially thechemical exfoliating products. Glycolic Acid is definitely something I should be using more!
Kristina recently posted…New! Zoya Lipsticks – Fall 2017My Profile

    1. Yes, glycolic acid is a good ingredient to add to your arsenal at some point. Definitely start with 5% so your skin gets used to it. I love using this daily product in case I don’t get around to using a physical or stronger chemical exfoliator once or twice a week.

  6. Laura Sorvillo says:

I think we’ve discussed Paula’s Choice before. I LOVE her products and now seeing your review I’m back to wondering why I keep trying other brands when I agree with your assessment that her products give us the most bang for our buck. Well at least now I have an itch to get a new PC product 😉 . I already use the weekly 10%AHA resurfacing treatment,I wonder if the smoothing treatment would still work on me…I use her 1% retinol cream and the 2% BHA liquid also.My skin tolerates serums and treatments pretty well so I’m wondering what my next smoothing, plumping, wrinkle reducing treatment/serum, etc. should be..I’m totally open to suggestions. Have a great weekend hon! xo 🙂

    1. Laura, I should have posted the ingredient list for the Daily Smoothing Treatment 5%, and I’ll go back and add it in. I think if you’re already using the 10% on a weekly basis, it may be enough especially coupled with the retinol and the 2% BHA liquid as well. I guess by using the 5% on a daily basis, it’s sloughing off at least some of the dead cells everyday rather than at one fell swoop! Sounds like you’ve got a good collection of Paula already, Laura! Hope you have a great weekend too. Rain predicted here for tomorrow but today is a gorgeous fall day 🙂
