Paula’s Choice Sneak Peek and CB Sale

PR Sample, Affiliate Links

City Beauty Sitewide Sale

City Beauty seems to have taken my advice, lol. Several months ago, they asked their affiliates what for suggestions moving forward. I suggested that they have more site wide sales rather than only specific product sales. It seems like they have been doing it, yay! That way, you don’t have to wait till the products you or I use to go on sale.

Through July 8, City Beauty is having a 25% off sitewide sale with the code FIREWORKS25.

In addition, Multi-Action Sculpting Cream, one of my faves, is on sale for “insiders”. I believe that to be an insider, you have to sign up to receive emails. Since the emails are usually for sales, I signed up a couple of years ago. The sale price is $40 for a single jar (marked down from $67), and the price goes down the more jars you buy. And if you buy 3 jars at the lowest price, you also receive a free bottle of Body Sculpting Cream. If you’re a fan of Multi-Action Sculpting Cream like I am, now’s a good time to buy.

New Paula’s Choice 5% Niacinamide Body Serum

Paula’s Choice, a longtime favorite brand, has been very generous to me of late. A couple of weeks ago, they sent me their new No Hype baseball hat. Very cute. Functional, sun-shading long bill. I’ll have plenty of occasions to wear it this summer and fall.

Last week, I received another package from Paula’s Choice. The trend seems to be for facial skincare ingredients in body care products. And why not? The skin on our bodies needs some TLC from active ingredients too.

Niacinamide (vitamin B3) is the active ingredient in their new Body Serum. Some call niacinamide as the “jack-of-all-trades” of skincare. It improves the skin’s barrier function, so it maintains moisture better. It brightens, treats hyperpigmentation, shrinks pores, and even helps skin adjust to retinol in skincare products. The good news is that it is effective even at concentrations such as 2-4%.

The promotional box contains their best selling Clinical Niacinamide 20% Treatment for face. I’ve used Paula’s Choice Niacinamide Booster with a concentration of 10%, so I am curious about the 20% concentration. It may be too strong for me and more appropriate for those with visible/enlarged pores and/or acne or blemishes since the benefits are:

  • visibly strengthens stretched pores
  • reduces bumps and orange-peel texture
  • improves tone and fades post-blemish marks.

Stay tuned. PC Clinical Niacinamide 20% Treatment for Face may show up in my next giveaway!

In the past, I chose body skincare products that focused on hydration and firming. Paula’s Choice new 5% Niacinamide Body Serum was developed to:

  • even skintone
  • reduce signs of aging
  • strengthen skin’s barrier.

But I am going to try new 5% Niacinamide Body Serum because strengthening my skin’s barrier may help my skin retain moisture better. And I have a ton of sun damage on my arms and legs that I have never even tried to fade. Plus, this new product is a lightweight serum, and I can apply a moisturizer on top for added hydration. I haven’t started using it yet because it just arrived. I’ll be back with a progress report in a few weeks!

Paula’s Choice 5% Niacinamide Body Serum is priced at $29 for 4 fl. oz./118 ml on the Paula’s Choice website.

  1. Love the idea of body serums! Id be cautious with that 20% face one. like you said prob better suited for those with specific skin issues. I know a derm I follow said using one that’s too strong ends up irritating the skin so I’ve laid off a bit since Im using other things that can irritate like retinol. lol Just don’t want to have to “fix” anything, lol.

  2. That body serum sounds divine! I would definitely use that! I need that serum!
