Peter Lamas Spa Sensuals Body Care Products

This entire year, I’ve gotten to try out an incredible array of skincare products and brands. Many have come from brands that were new to me. And I have lots of new favorites.

The Peter Lamas Spa Sensuals line has definitely entered my pantheon of skincare favorites. I received three products from the Spa Sensuals body care line that I want to introduce you to:

  • Rejuvenating Hand Scrub
  • Intensive Repair Hand Cream
  • Energizing Antioxidant Body Lotion

but first a word about Peter Lamas. Who is he?

When I lived in New York as a student, the Kenneth Salon was the pinnacle of luxury. Famous women, socialites, wannabes, and blondes all went to the Kenneth Salon in the townhouse on the East side. I couldn’t afford to, but I certainly knew all about it. Peter Lamas was one of the luminaries who practiced his craft on women like Jacqueline Onassis, Grace Kelly, Diana Ross, and Faye Dunaway. Before that, he trained at Vidal Sassoon (the salon I still go to!) and Paul Mitchell. He has worked on advertising and editorial campaigns with famous fashion photographers, Richard Avedon and Francesco Scavullo. So this guy really knows haircare.

But he has also become an expert in health and wellness and skincare too. In addition to his line of hair care products, Peter Lamas makes skincare and body care products and even products with Chinese herbs. The products offer high performance but without harsh chemicals. The products are natural, include lots of organic ingredients, and are free of sulfates, petrochemicals and parabens. They are 100% vegan, gluten-free (the body care products are, I haven’t check the others), and they are made in the U.S. The care shown in making these products extends to sealing them for your protection and that of the ingredients inside.

You can check out the extensive product line on the Peter Lamas website. But now onto the body care products that I’ve been using for about a month.

Peter Lamas Spa Sensuals Rejuvenating Hand Scrub

About a month ago, I was visiting Newburyport, a lovely seaside town in Massachusetts, with a friend and her daughter. We were browsing in a variety of stores while her daughter looked for an Indian bedspread to take with her to college (some things never change, thank goodness!). Since it was a hot day, we stopped for cold drinks at a cute Italian cafe. I went into the rest room to wash up, and there was a wonderful hand scrub for the patrons to try out. I almost bought it but ending up passing.

When I got home, the Peter Lamas skincare products had arrived. The first product I took out of the box was the Rejuvenating Hand Scrub. Perfect timing not only because I passed up buying a hand scrub that afternoon, but also because my thumbs were starting to flake from the exfoliative keratolysis that I get every summer.

Peter Lamas Spa Sensuals Rejuvenating Hand Scrub

The Peter Lamas Spa Sensuals Rejuvenating Hand Scrub is yellow, made with sea salt crystals and natural oils including citrus oils, vitamins A, C and E, and plant extracts. It has a beautiful, mild citrusy scent. It quickly and gently exfoliates the dead skin cells on my hands as well as the flaking skin on my thumbs, and leaves my hands feeling incredibly soft and smooth but not greasy. I love this hydrating exfoliator!

The recyclable plastic tub contains 4 oz. and is priced at $21.

Ingredients: Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom Salt), Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Sodium Chloride, Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides, Silica, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Chamomilla Recutita Extract*, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract*, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract**, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract*, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract*, Linoleic Acid & Glycine Soja Sterols, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C), Caprylyl Glycol, Phospholipids, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil.

Peter Lamas Spa Sensuals Intensive Repair Hand Cream

The hand scrub is step one of the hand care duo, and the Intensive Repair Hand Cream is step two. I sometimes use the two products together, but most of the time I use them separately. I use the hand scrub in the morning to get my hands in shape for the day, and I use the hand cream at night. But if my hands are very dry and flaky, I use them together for serious hydration.

Peter Lamas Spa Sensuals Intensive Repair Hand Cream

The Intensive Repair Hand Cream is probably the best hand cream I’ve used to date. I really liked the La Mer Hand Cream I tried last fall (La Mer Hand Cream reviewed here), but the Peter Lamas Intensive Repair Hand Cream is more hydrating and much more affordable. I also liked the H2O Plus Hand Cream I tried this spring (H2O Plus reviewed here), but the Peter Lamas Intensive Repair Hand Cream is more hydrating, has better ingredients and doesn’t have parabens like the H2O Plus product.

Peter Lamas Intensive Repair Hand Cream is a white gel-cream with a very subtle citrus scent that requires just a pinch to work its magic. A little goes a long way. It absorbs quickly and hydrates my dry hands immediately. It contains shea butter, oils, vitamins A, C and E, and plant extracts, but It isn’t greasy. Yet it does leave my hands with a lightweight protective barrier that lasts for hours and hours. I’m looking forward to using the Intensive Repair Hand Cream this winter when my hands are chapped because I can tell now that this cream is up to the job!

Peter Lamas Intensive Repair Hand Cream comes in a 4 oz. recyclable plastic tube and is priced at $21.

Ingredients: Deionized Water, Glyceryl Stearate, Stearyl Alcohol, Glycerin (Vegetable), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dimethicone, Stearic Acid, Chondrus Crispus Extract, Cetyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Cetearyl Alcohol, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Chamomilla Recutita (Chamomile) Extract*, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract*, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract**, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract*, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract*, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Brassica Campestris Extract, Linoleic Acid & Glycine Soja Sterols, Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C Palmitate), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Sorbitol, Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Flower Extract, Xanthan Gum, Bisabolol, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Lactate, Allantoin, Sodium PCA, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Phospholipids, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil.

Peter Lamas Spa Sensuals Energizing Antioxidant Body Lotion

I have so much body lotion and body butter I don’t know which way to turn. In fact, when I received this product, I thought, Oh no, another body lotion! I already have quite a few that I love. But the troubles of a beauty blogger – I had to try it out.

Well, I was blown away by the Energizing Antioxidant Body Lotion from Peter Lamas. Like the hand cream, it is a gel-cream so it goes on so easily and is immediately absorbed. What makes this gel-cream a standout in terms of application is that there is no white cream to have to work into my skin like I have found in some of the other heavy-duty body lotions and butters that contain similar natural and organic ingredients. I don’t know how the folks at Peter Lamas did it, but this highly emollient lotion is a dream to apply.

Peter Lamas Spa Sensuals Energizing Antioxidant Body Lotion

Also like the hand cream, the body lotion leaves my skin with a lightweight, coated and protected feeling that literally lasts all day or all night. In addition, it makes the very dry skin on my arms and legs look plumper, more hydrated, younger, and more attractive. It’s formulated with mango butter, shea butter, hyaluronic acid, Green Tea extract and minerals among others.

In addition, the lotion gives my skin a slight cooling sensation. I don’t know which ingredient(s) is responsible for that (maybe it’s the Chinese herbs?), but during these hot, humid days that trigger hot flashes in me all the time, it is a pleasure to apply this lotion. It actually cools me down.

The clear plastic recyclable bottle of Spa Sensuals Energizing Antioxidant Body Lotion contains 8 oz. and is priced at $24.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract,** Glyceryl Stearate, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil,*** Cetyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract,* Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract,* Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract,* Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract,* Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid), Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Protein, Caprylyl Glycol & Phenoxyethanol & Hexylene Glycol, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter),*** Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Algae Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hydroxide, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Fragrance with Essential Oils, Allantoin.

Final Impressions and Where to Buy

I love all three of these skincare products. They’re natural, use lots of organic ingredients, absorb so quickly and easily without a greasy feeling, and they create a barrier on my skin to keep in the moisture. They are moderately priced so I can actually afford to replace them when I use them up, yay. I definitely recommend the Spa Sensuals body care collection from Peter Lamas. With summer coming to an end, remember these products! They are great for heat and sun dehydrated skin now, but for winter, they will be even more fabulous.

Of course, Peter Lamas products are sold on the Peter Lamas website. The body care and skincare are available at drugstore.com, vitaminshoppe.com (I don’t know if they are sold in the stores), luckyvitamin.com, pharmaca.com, and other online retailers. You can also pick them up by clicking below. If you’re interested in checking out the haircare line, they are widely available at the places above. But I was amazed to see that the haircare products are sold at Walgreens/walgreens.com too!

  15. When I saw the name Peter Lamas, I thought it may have a Falcon Crest reference from Lorenzo Lamas. Alas, back to the body care, I like the sound of the body moisturizer, energizing and moisture, what’s not to love?
NORAH recently posted…Thierry Mugler Scents of Summer :: InStyle Magazine’s Summer SocialMy Profile

    1. Oh gee, I used to watch Falcon Crest! But I kept thinking, “you look mahvelous”(you may not be old enough to remember Billy Crystal doing a Fernando Lamas, Lorenzo’s father, imitation on SNL.) The body lotion is my favorite of all the body lotions and butters I’ve tried this year, and that’s a really long list 😉
