Pop*arazzi Mermaid Charade Duochrome Nail Polish

Maybe because I wear a mask when I go out and I’m wearing less makeup, nail polish has become more of a thing for me. I certainly am buying and wearing more nail polish than ever.

I Bought This

During my last visit to CVS, in my looooooooong strip of coupons from their vending machine was a dollar off coupon for one bottle of Pop*arazzi nail polish, CVS’ affordable polish brand. When I perused the display, duo chrome Mermaid Charade jumped out at me. I usually stick with traditional shades most of the time, but this polish looked like such fun. For $1.99, how could I pass it by?

Mermaid Charade is a light blue metallic with a purple shift. It is so darn pretty! It reminds me of a shimmery blue silk shantung pants outfit that I had years ago. I love this shade.

Pop*arazzi comes with a good, semi-wide brush that is very easy to use. The polish itself applied easily, and it covered completely in two coats. Although I don’t think it’s billed as a quick dry polish, it sure acts like one. Each coat dried in about a minute.

I applied Mermaid Charade over a coat of Seche Base (a white base coat that I have had for several years and need to replace). I used Glisten & Glow Top Coat, a top coat that I like a lot.

Pop*arazzi polishes may not be the longest lasting, but with everything that I do with my hands, no polish lasts all that long. So far, so good: no chips after a couple of days.

If you need a change or an inexpensive fun treat, check out Pop*arazzi Mermaid Charade at CVS.

    1. Mai, thank you for the suggestion about putting Mermaid Charade over black polish. I wouldn’t have thought of that. If I have black in my stash, I will try it, or else I may try it over navy blue.

  4. Oh my goodness, that color is stunning! I would just stare at my nails all day!

    1. LOL, that’s exactly what I’ve been doing: staring at my Mermaid Charade nails!

this is so random, but I’m wearing the same polish now, but I put down a base black coat first before applying one coat of the duochrome on top. It looks so vibrant and reflective! Something about having the dark color basecoat really makes the color pop

    1. Yes, you are absolutely right, Brayden. A black base coat does wonders, though I haven’t done it for ages. A white base coat is good too for other effects. I’m been addicted to Olive & June polish for about a year now because the polishes are the only ones that wear like iron on me. I should get more experimental again!
