Pre-Thanksgiving Beauty Spotlight Team

Hope you are doing well, and getting ready to have a chill Thanksgiving this coming week! I haven’t made a turkey in over a decade, but I’m hoping my little 8.75 pound turkey will be OK in my unreliable oven. I’m going to make stuffing with cognac, mushrooms & sage, cranberry/orange sauce, and green beans with lemon and panko. My friend Kim is bringing au gratin roasted cauliflower, and Jeff will make a pumpkin pie. I’ve got cheeses and crackers as an appetizer, and we’ll have plenty of drinks. I think that will be more than enough for the three of us. I’m going to break out the fancy china and gold flatware. Oddly enough, I’m kind of nervous about it. What are your plans for this unusual year?

Please take a look at the weekly roundup from the members of the Beauty Spotlight Team. This week, there are a lot of good items that we have reviewed. They would make excellent holiday gifts for cosmetic lovers or treats for yourself!

Allison, Sounds like a perfect Thanksgiving to me, I originally had planned to spend Thanksgiving at my sister’s house as my Mother lives with her. But due to COVID I will not be driving over to the other side of the state. Instead I will be going to my son and his family’s house. The Grandsons and girlfriend have already had COVID…..DONT get me started on how they got it. Twenty somethings think they are invincible. Was not going to go as I am terrified of getting COVID but that day is also my birthday so both my Mother and Kim have encouraged me to go so I am not alone on my birthday!

Enjoy being with Jeff and your friend!

    1. Sandy, this is such a complicated year for holidays. My friend received a call from her pilates instructor letting her know that she tested positive for covid, so now my friend who was masked in class as was the instructor has to quarantine for 14 days. I feel so sad about it. So, you can never tell what could happen! Jeff and I will keep each other company. I hope you will feel comfortable at your son’s house and can enjoy being together especially since it is your birthday, too! Would you consider wearing a mask, or would that be too weird? I am not sure what to do when Jeff’s daughter, an immunologist, comes to visit with her fiancé in early December. They live in another state and have to fly. They will get tested again before they leave, will wear N95 masks with face shields on the plane, but I am still a little concerned. So much uncertainty. Stay well! Happy Birthday to you xo
