Private Sale: 40% Off City Lips and City Lips Matte June 11-13

When I first started my blog more than 5 years ago, my friend Nancy who was always a beauty maven asked me about City Lips. She had seen something about it on TV, and she asked my opinion. I was embarrassed to say I wasn’t familiar with it, but I told her I would check it out. City Lips claimed to plump lips without painful ingredients. I bought a tube of City Lips Clear. For me, that was just the beginning.

City Lips, Original Gloss

Since then, City Lips has been one of the staples in my beauty stash.

I have written about it many times (here and here) I always have a tube of the Clear gloss that I’m using and a spare waiting in the wings so I’ll never be without it. Does it make my lips plumper? Though I am fortunate not to have skinny lips, I still think it does make my lips look fuller. The moisture-attracting hyaluronic acid, the collagen supporting ingredients and the natural oils in City Lips keep my lips looking juicy and keep them from becoming dry even in winter. City Lips Clear is one of my two absolute favorite lip treatments that I use overnight to keep my lips healthy. What I love about it is that it doesn’t disappear; it’s still on the job, on my lips the next morning! Honestly, I haven’t found anything to beat it yet.

Oh, and did I mention that it’s not sticky? You can even wear other lipstick on top of City Lips. Just wait 2 or 3 minutes before you apply lipstick over it. Plus, City Lips helps smooth lip lines.

City Lips comes in Clear, 7 Shimmer shades and 8 Opaque shades. I can’t believe that I haven’t tried City Lips opaque gloss yet! I am planning to buy Crimson, a cool-toned deep rose, and maybe Watermelon, a warm-toned deep pink that looks like a great summer shade.

City Lips Matte

A couple of years ago when liquid matte lipsticks were at the height of their popularity, City Lips came out with a matte formula. I cannot wear most liquid matte lipsticks, but I can wear City Lips Matte (reviewed here)!

Like the glossy City Lips, the Matte version is packed with hydrating ingredients. Although it dries down, it is not uncomfortable, and it doesn’t feel dry. It has a velvety matte finish and feel. It certainly doesn’t make my lips look dry; instead, my lips look full and conditioned.

The key ingredients are:

  • hyaluronic acid for deep hydration and plumping
  • oligopeptides: A string of amino acids that penetrate the skin to support natural collagen production to help enhance lip volume and smooth the appearance of fine lines to create a fuller, younger look.
  • Dermaxyl: helps repair the skin barrier, while smoothing wrinkles for a youthful look.
  • BV-OSC: A form of Vitamin C that improves collagen synthesis for plumper, juicer lips.
  • Natural oils like jojoba oil and ylang ylang flower oil that hydrate and condition lips for hours of comfortable wear.

Here’s how City Lips describes how City Lips Matte prevents dryness like traditional liquid mattes:

City Lips Matte “formula uses a multi-functional elastomer system to deliver a smooth, matte finish — unlike other matte lip products that rely on waxy, waterless formulas that destroy your lips.”

Here I am wearing the gorgeous Rosy Mauve and Scarlet (wow, note the different hair colors!!):

City Lips Matte lasts for hours and hours, as long as you don’t eat an oily meal. It comes in 6 shades.

City Lips, Both Versions

Both versions of City Lips are a solution for:

  • Dry Lips
  • Thin Lips
  • Aging Lips
  • Wrinkled Lips
  • Chapped Lips

Both versions have an easy to use curved applicator and an easy to apply formula.

Both versions are formulated without parabens, sulfates, phthalates, mineral oil, gluten, or nuts. City Lips products are cruelty-free.

Importantly, both versions are bleed-proof and non-feathering. Yay, they don’t end up wandering beyond my lip lines, and I don’t have to bother with lip liner.

Finally, City Beauty has a 60 day money back guarantee if you wish to return their products for any reason.

The regular price for City Lips and for City Lips Matte is $35. I try to stock up when it’s on sale. And there is a private sale now for my readers for 3 days: today, June 11 through June 13 at 11:59pm EDT. In order to get the 40% off, click here for City Lips Original Gloss and click here for City Lips Matte. You must enter LIPPIE40 at checkout. If you’re a fan of City Lips, I hope you can take advantage of this sale.

    Allison,
Very nice review. I am currently on a no buy or I would be snapping this up during this sale. During the last couple of weeks I have been cleaning out my cosmetics and found items I had forgotten about. Therefore I refuse to buy more until I use more of my stash. Have a great day. I sure hope you aren’t getting the horrible storms we had yesterday….very scary.

    1. Thank you, Sandy! That’s great that you’re using this extra time at home to clean out your stash. I have made some progress on the sea of brown shipping boxes on the floor of my office containing products I’m yet to try for review. I can see more rug than before. There’s hope! Glad that you are doing well xo
