I love using all kinds of essences, and this one from Korean skincare brand Abib is a “horse of a different color”! Most essences I’ve tried are either water like a toner or maybe a very lightweight gel that becomes water on contact with skin. Abib’s Okjuk Essence is something different entirely.
Abib Okjuk Essence is a “nutrition pump”. Loaded with skin nutrition from their hero ingredient, Solomon’s seal (okjuk in Korean), that’s more than half the ingredients in the product (55%), it helps skin maintain and regain its elasticity. It also helps protect against wrinkles.
Most essences are applied after toner, but this gel-cream anti-aging product is a hydrator/moisturizer. I apply it during the day over the lotion-y Paula’s Choice Youth Extending Hydrator SPF 50 or at night after serum. It feels rich and highly protective.
I love the pump bottle. I’ve found that one pump covers my entire face. The heavy plastic minimalist bottle designed to enhance the stability of the products contains 50 ml/1.69 fl. oz. The bottle will last me a long time.
And it’s a great value! The regular price of Abib Okjuk Essence is $27, but now it’s on sale on the Abib Global website for $24.30. Better still, Abib skincare is sold on Amazon where Okjuk Essence is currently half price, $13.50 and if you’re a Prime member, shipping is free and super quick! At half price, Okjuk Essence is even more of a bargain.
Oh, and it’s fragrance-free.

This sounds so nice for dry skin!

Gosh, have i tried an essence before? I don’t know! I always thought they were watery toner-like too! I’m going to google more about that solomons seal – I’ve never heard of it before!
I grow Solomon’s seal in ny garden. Actually, it grows naturally. Before I tried Abib skincare products that use SS in many products, I had no idea it was used as a skincare ingredient. Although this product is called “essence”, it is actually a moisturizer or anti-aging cream 😉
Magic words: fragrance free. Extra magic words: half off! Sounds like a winner.
Since getting to know you, I have become more conscious of fragrance in products.
This sounds wonderful! I’m a huge fan of serums and essences, so I really need to try this one!
Okjuk Essence really is a moisturizer or anti aging cream rather than a true essence! A surprise when I first tried it. BTW, I finally got to the post office today, and I sent a box for your niece. It should arrive on Thursday
You are such a sweetheart! Thank you for your generosity!
No problem! I hope she can use the products! And I hope it gets there
Yes! It’s here and she’s thrilled (I kept the spray and the Foil… shhh!). Sorry I didn’t email. Today has been nuts, what with a dental appointment that went on forever. You’re the BEST!
Wow, it arrived a day early! I’m so glad your niece will try the acne products, and I am even happier that you found a couple of items to try. Yay! Sorry to hear about the continuing dental issues. Ugh 😩 I truly hope you’re finished now or will be soon 🤞🏻
