Project Pan July 2022 Beauty Empties

August 1 means it’s that time again: an update on my Project Pan progress. July was a good month for my beauty empties. Let’s see what I used up and what’s worth rebuying.

I Bought This, PR Samples, Affiliate Links

Skincare Empties

As usual, I have the most skincare empties.

City Lips Clear: No surprise, I go through about a tube of City Lips Clear per month. I love it. It’s a staple in my stash. Repurchase? I have 4 tubes of Clear in my stash, so I splurged and bought Watermelon gloss during the City Lips BOGO that ended on 8/1.

Aforé by Dr. Few CBD Effusive Soothing Skin Mist: This is my favorite skin mist. The mist is so fine that even I can use it. And it feels so good on my skin. Repurchase? Yes, I just did.

Derma E Essentials Radiance Toner with Glycolic Acid & Rooibos: Derma E has about a million different toners. This one was fine. Repurchase? I have one more in my stash.

Caire Theorem Serum Boost: Caire Theorem Serum Boost is a serum with hyaluronic acid and growth factor. What I especially liked about it is that it specified that it contains the type of hyaluronic acid molecule that is small enough to go deep into layers of the skin. Repurchase? I have another bottle in my stash. But because it is a clear gel-lotion that is a little on the heavier side, I will wait till cooler weather to break open the second bottle.

IT Cosmetics Confidence In An Eye Cream: Much to my surprise, I fell in love with IT Cosmetics Confidence In An Eye Cream, a super peptide formula. It’s a cream in a little glass jar (I wish it were a tube) that is perfect for under my eyes, crow’s feet, on my dry eyelids and creases, and above my creases. Like my other favorite lifting eye cream from City Beauty, this one firms and smooths the skin above my crease very well. The small jar lasted me exactly two months. Repurchase? I found it on sale at Macy’s back in June, and I bought two more jars for a total of $27. I got an incredible deal!

Bath & Body Empties

Hand Over Heart Pure Cleansing Bar: I just finished up the lovely fragranced Orange Lavender bar of Hand Over Hear soap made from natural and organic ingredients. It was easy to lather, and it lightly hydrated my skin. Repurchase? I have a bar of Lemongrass soap waiting in the wings. It too smells fantastic! Although the soaps are “currently unavailable” on Amazon, you can find them on the Hand Over Heart website as well as Ralph’s Supermarket’s website.

Secret Powder Fresh 24 Hour Invisible Solid Deodorant/Anti-Perspirant, travel size: This summer, I have been using tradition AP more often than I usually do. It’s been so hot that the Crystal natural deo that I usually use doesn’t seem to do the job as well. Secret Powder Fresh Solid is my favorite AP. Repurchase? I already did.

Haircare Empties

Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo: It took me a year and a half to use up the full size, 8.5 oz. bottle of Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo. It makes a ton of lather even if I use just a small amount. Since I started using it, I believe my formerly heat damaged hair is in much better shape. Repurchase? I already did, but this time I bought the travel size.

Makeup Empties

Tatcha The Silk Canvas Liquid Primer: I’ve mentioned before that Tatcha The Silk Canvas Liquid Primer is my favorite without a doubt. It truly feels like silk. Love this stuff! Repurchase? I bought another full size bottle (that lasted me well over a year) during their Friends & Family Sale. It also comes in a travel size.

Health & Beauty Empties

Just CBD 1000mg CBD Gummies: I love these cute little bear-shaped CBD gummies in tropical fruit flavors. I usually take two before bed, and they help me fall asleep. I find them calming. So while Jeff was in and out of the hospital this summer, I took a few extras, and I finished up the jar of about 100 in a month, lol. Hopefully, I won’t need to use as many now! Repurchase? Yes, I did.

Beauty Tool Empties

Natural sponge: I don’t remember the brand of this natural sponge that I use to wash my face, but it was terrific. Just the right size and perfectly soft when wet. It might have been from Neptune, maybe? Repurchase? I just bought a bag of two more natural sea silk sponges from Neptune and the new one is terrific as well.

Ulta Beauty Brush Cleansing Solid Soap: The brush cleansing solid soap from Ulta is absolutely just as good as the one from Beautyblender, plus it is larger and less expensive. Repurchase? Yes, I did.

Swisspers Premium Cotton Rounds: Yes, I know I should switch to washable cotton rounds, but I bought a million of these. To be honest, I prefer using a new cotton round each time I need one to apply my toner. I sometimes remember to toss the used one on my compost pile. Repurchase? I have about 5 more sleeves of these from Costco waiting in the wings.

Sample Packet Empties

Tatcha The Essence: I wish I had tried this sample packet with enough for 4 usage occasions before the Friends & Family sale at Tatcha.com. I definitely would have bought a travel size of this lightweight, hydrating liquid. I think it’s the best essence I’ve tried.

Augustinus Bader The Cream: There’s so much buzz about all AB products but especially The Cream. It was created for normal to dry skin. I liked it, but I think my sometimes very dry, mature skin might do better with The Rich Cream. Since it’s a very expensive anti-aging cream (a 15 ml bottle of The Cream) is priced at $89!), I probably won’t be buying it anytime soon, but I would love to try a sample!

Expire Products/Tosses

Butter LONDON Glazen Eye Gloss: The mousse-like consistency of the Butter LONDON Glazed eye glosses and blushes was lovely, but over time, they solidify. Time for Glazen Eye Gloss in very pretty Moonshine to go. I probably have others that I need to toss once I find them. I’m kind of surprised that Butter LONDON still makes Glazen Eye Gloss, but now it comes in only one shade, a frosted rose gold.

Project Pan Progress Report

Sample packets and expired products don’t count toward my total.

I ended June with 79 empties. In July, I used up 13 products, bringing my total so far in 2022 to 92. Yay!

Most of the products I used up in July are products I repurchased. In fact, most of the products I used up this past month are staples in my beauty arsenal. Makes sense, no?

Did you use up any products that you really liked in July? If so, do tell.

  2. WOW, Allison– you did a very impressive job in July! I recently finished my bottle of AB The Rich Cream, and it is definitely more well-suited for your dry skin than AB The Cream!

    1. I had a feeling that you would tell me if The Rich Cream would be the right one for me!

  3. I love that you stick to your purchases to get full from them. I tossed an eye cream that had hardened and two highend mascaras recently.

    1. Although I feel bad about tossing products that went off or got old especially if they are high end ones, it is so good to get rid of makeup and skincare products that are no longer usable. Getting rid of clutter is my goal in my office/beauty room, but I’m got a long way to go.

  4. How did you like those CBD gummies?
