Project Pan: November 22 Beauty Empties & 20% off Sephora Sale

Another month gone, and we’re now in December. Where did 2022 go?

I Bought This, PR Samples, Affiliate Links

At any rate, it’s time for another Project Pan update. Last month, October, I exceeded my 2022 goal of 125 beauty empties with a total of 130. Whoopie! Nevertheless, I made further progress using up some more beauty products during the month of November.

November 2022 Cosmetics Empties

Let’s see what I finished up last month.

Bath and Body

RITUALS Ritual of Sakura Body Cream: Because I have so many different body creams, butters and lotions, it took me a long time to use up this very nice body cream from Dutch brand, RITUALS. Ritual of Sakura is one of my favorite scents from RITUALS: cherry blossom. It’s a light scent that I associate with spring and summer. The cream itself is rich and hydrating for my very dry skin. Another positive thing about RITUALS Body is that you can buy refills for the tub rather than having to replace the entire jar. Repurchase? I intend to save the jar and probably buy a refill in the spring when I will go back to the cherry blossom scent.

DefenAge 10 Luxe Hand & Body Cream: I liked this effective body cream from DefenAge very much. Repurchase? Sadly, no. Even with all the ways to save money on DefenAge, this fab body cream is just too expensive for me.

Molton Brown Pink Pepperpod Bath & Shower Gel (now called Fiery Pink Pepper), travel size: My sister beauty blogger, Renu, always wrote about how Molton Brown’s Pink Pepperpod Shower Gel was her favorite. As a result, I always wanted to try it. Well, I was surprised by Pink Peppercorn because in spite of the pink/lavender color, there was nothing sweet about Pink Pepperpod. It seemed like it was pure pepper, definitely spicy. But it has ginger and patchouli in it, neither of which has any natural sweetness. It took me a while to get used to it, but I ended up liking it for days when I didn’t want a sweet or fruity shower gel. Repurchase? Not now. Even though Molton Brown is on sale right now, I have already bought too much for myself during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales. So I may wait till the Valentine’s Day sales, though I am on the fence about whether to buy Rhubarb & Rose or Fiery Pink Pepper.

Lemon Verbena Hand Soap: Frankly, I can’t remember what the brand name is for this faux Italian hand soap that I bought at Costco. It came in a set of 4, and this is either the second or third one that I have used up. Although these soaps are huge-ish (21.5 fl. oz.) and last almost forever, they are just OK in terms of effectiveness. They don’t lather very much. They seem to clean my hands fairly well, but if my hands are really dirty from working in the garden, for instance, I use a different, more effective cleanser. Repurchase/recommend? In spite of the fact that I like the faux Tuscan container, I don’t recommend this hand soap even though I doubt it is still available at Costco. But for the price I paid, it was still worth buying originally.

Walton Wood Farm Warm Cranberry Shea Butter Soap: Although this soap smelled very nice, lathered well, cleaned well, left my skin feeling lightly hydrated and not at all dry, I was a little put off by the fact that the red color of the lather was a little more difficult than most to remove from my white shower. Repurchase? Sadly, no. If it came in white or a lighter color, I would buy it.

Facial Skincare

Derma E Vitamin C Brightening Cleanser: I think this is my favorite cleanser from Derma E (but I have two other close favorites, lol). It’s especially effective if you use the Vitamin C Serum and moisturizer along with it. But it’s a terrific, gentle cleanser, and it’s light citrus scent is the frosting on the cake! Repurchase? I have another one waiting in the wings, but I am going to finish up my Derma E Anti-Wrinkle Cleanser first.

Murad Essential-C Day Moisturize Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PA +++: I have a love/hate relationship with all moisturizers with SPF, but Murad Essential-C Day Moisture is among my top 3 favorites. In fact, this is my third tube of Murad Essential-C. It’s a relatively lightweight lotion-y moisturizer that is hydrating as well as protective. And it has a nice, light citrusy scent. Repurchase? I am so torn. Murad is currently 30% off for Cyber Week. Its regular price is $68, so the sale price is $47.60. Even though I would be saving $20, I have several open tubes of moisturizer with SPF that I should really use up. Ugh, what to do!

Tony Moly Green Tea The Watery Essence: I love this watery lightweight translucent lotion that my skin just drinks up. I think this is at least the fourth bottle of The Watery Essence that I’ve used up. Repurchase? I already did! But I decided I wanted to try Peach & Lily’s Wild Dew Essence, a liquid, during their holiday sale. I’m waiting for it to arrive. I have a feeling that I will still prefer my Tony Moly Essence, but stay tuned.

Health & Beauty

Crest Densify Toothpaste: This was a fine toothpaste. I have no idea if it densified, but I hope it did! Repurchase? I have been switching around trying different enamel repair toothpastes lately. I tried Colgate’s repair toothpaste last time, and next time, I am trying Pro-namel again.

Tosses

Actually, I have been tossing more products lately, but I haven’t always photographed them or remembered what they were. I threw out a few over the past two weeks, but what the heck were they?

Project Pan November Stats

In November, I used up 9 cosmetics to bring my 2022 total to 139. Only one more month to go. We’ll see where I end up for the year!

How about you? Have you used up anything that you especially liked?

A Much Better Sale at Sephora than the Last One!

I guess Sephora got the message that their 10-15% off for Beauty Insiders and VIB members wasn’t impressing anybody. And there aren’t as many Sephora Rouge members as there used to be. Especially when so many brands are offering discounts up to 30 or 40% off.

But in case there are things you need or want at Sephora, another sale starts today, December 2, and goes through December 11 with 20% off for Beauty Insiders at all levels plus 30% off Sephora Collection.

You can only use the discount code GETGIFTING only once at Sephora or on Sephora.com, but you can use it multiple times at Sephora at Kohl’s.

Here’s what I found:

  1. I’m intrigued by the Tony Moly Green Tea Essence! So it’s a thin lotion, not watery? When do you use it? My skin seems drier than ever before this winter and I’m looking for a good daytime moisturizer. Way to go on the empties!

  2. Very well done, Allison! We have such similar taste! It’s a pity that the Costco faux Italian Lemon Verbena Hand Soap didn’t lather in a satisfying way. I do like the faux-Maiolica bottle, though!
