Project Pan October 22 Beauty Empties

I seem to measure the passage of time by Project Pan posts. No, not really. It just seems that way.

October has come to an end, and it’s time to see what I’ve finished up. Actually, I finished a couple of other items. But I forgot about them when it was time to photograph my empties, so I’ll save them for November.

October Empties

When I look at my October empties, I see that the majority are staples in my health and beauty routines. I guess that makes sense, but it seems more so this month than usual.

Bath & Body

Spongellé Private Reserve Spongette, scent Morning Bloom: I reviewed this Spongette last week. The Spongette is a slightly smaller body buffer that lasts 7+ usage occasions. I think it lasted me 2-3 weeks. The Morning Bloom light floral fragrance was lovely, and it was the same scent as the Private Reserve Diffuser that I had in the early summer. Recommend/Repurchase? If you own any of the Spongellé Private Reserve Fragrance Sprays, I definitely recommend trying the matching Spongette in order to extend or layer the scents. I also think the Spongette is great to take along if you’re going away for a week or so. Otherwise, I prefer the regular Spongellé body buffers that last twice as long and have the ribbon that is so handy to hang the buffer to dry. If you’re starting your holiday shopping, Spongellé products make excellent gifts, and you can always get a discount code at the website.

Secret Powder Fresh Anti-Perspirant Solid, travel size: I finally got to use this travel size Secret AP Solid for travel! It was perfect to take to both Montreal and North Carolina. I would say that Secret Solid in the Powder Fresh scent is my favorite anti-perspirant. Repurchase? I always repurchase this, but when I used this up, I decided it would be worth it to have a full size at home for when I’m not using a natural deodorant. But I balked at the price of the full size Secret at whichever store I was at. So I bought Suave instead, and I don’t like it as much. 😉

Molton & Brown Hand Lotion, Orange & Bergamot, travel size: This travel size bottle of Molton & Brown Hand Lotion that I keep at the kitchen sink lasted me ages, I mean about 3 years. Considering I do use it most times after washing my hands or washing some dishes if I’m not wearing plastic gloves, I’m amazed it lasted that long. It’s a lightweight lotion that gets absorbed quickly and isn’t sticky. It’s hydrates and softens. I am a fan of the Orange & Bergamot scent. However, not everyone may like the scent as much as I do. With bergamot, Seville (bitter) orange and mandarin, it smells kind of like citrus tea. Like some other of the Molton Brown fragrances (e.g. Rhubarb & Rose), it has a distinctly sharp note that may not be everyone’s cup of tea, lol. Repurchase? I found a full size bottle on sale at Fragrance.net at a great price!

Hair

Vegamour GRO Hair Serum: As I have mentioned repeatedly during the past few months, Vegamour GRO Hair Serum is growing hair into the spots where my hairline was receding. It took several months, but there is definitely hair there! Recommend/Repurchase? I don’t know if Vegamour Hair Serum will work for everyone, but I am grateful that it is working for me! I am a subscriber because it is necessary to continue with it in order to keep the new hair growing.

Matrix Total Results Keep Me Vivid Color Lamination: I have used this color saving spray from time to time, especially during the summer when my hair color fades the most. You spray it on after shampooing, leave it on for one minute, rinse, and apply conditioner. Does it work? To be honest, I’m not sure. My hair still fades when I’m outdoors a lot. Repurchase? This was my second spray bottle, and I think I may have a travel size in my stash. But for now, I don’t plan to repurchase it. I think next time I have some extra cash, I will try Matrix Keep Me Vivid Color Velvetizer Leave-in with UV and Heat Protection.

Health & Beauty

Just CBD 1000mg CBD Gummies: I love these fruit-flavored CBD gummy bears. The CBD helps relax me so that I can fall asleep. Repurchase? Yes, I am now a monthly subscriber.

Skincare

City Beauty City Lips Clear: I know you’re probably tired of hearing me sing the praises of City Lips, but I love it. It works for me. City Lips mitigates the drying effects of lipstick and weather, and it has definitely made my lips plumper. The hydration, however, is what I love most. Repurchase? Always! (P.S. City Beauty Sitewide 40% off sale is coming up in about a week and a half!)

IT Cosmetics Confidence In An Eye Cream: This is the second jar of Confidence In An Eye Cream that I have finished up. I think it has done a great job hydrating and smoothing my eyelids and firming the skin above my crease. It’s lighter weight and less like spackle than my other favorite, City Beauty Lid Lifting Treatment, but it works well all over the eye area. Repurchase? I have another jar waiting in the wings.

Green Chemistry Alpha C Serum: I wrote about new-to-me brand Green Chemistry a few months ago when I first started using this Alpha C and Retinol Serum. Green Chemistry makes their products from ingredients found in the wild and grown on organic farms. They are “fresh” with no preservatives. The Alpha C Serum was terrific. It was hydrating, helped even and brighten my skin tone, and I believe the retinol did help create collagen that firms my skin and helps minimize the look of lines and wrinkles. Repurchase/Recommend? If you prefer natural and organic with no preservatives, Green Chemistry’s Alpha C Serum should be on your to-try list. If I didn’t have 10 trillion serums waiting in the wings, I would buy Green Chemistry Alpha C Serum in a heartbeat. I loved it.

Project Pan Update through October

At the end of September, I had used up 121 beauty products so far in 2022. My goal for 2022 was 125 empties. In October, I used up 9 beauty products. That puts me over the top at 130, with two months yet to go! Woohoo!

Tosses/Expired Products

I’m tossing this hardly used tube of Pixi Mattelustre Lipstick in the neutral shade Honey Bare. I must have gotten it from Ipsy at some point, but I can’t remember how long ago I got it. It doesn’t smell great, and I don’t wear matte lipstick anyway. See ya!

How have you been doing so far in 2022 in terms of using up beauty products? Any discoveries that have become one of your regulars? Do tell!

  1. I really enjoy reading your empty post. I use up so little that in a year I’d probably use up what you use in a month. I just finished a package of Shiseido cotton squares but I doubt I’ll repurchase them. I also had to toss several mini mascaras because they just weren’t cutting it anymore and they were too old.

    1. Yes, but you’ve been doing well throwing out old products, Marcia, and though I’m trying, I’m not there yet 😉
