Project Pan September ’22 Beauty Empties

September absolutely flew by. It’s been rather cold here in MA, and summer seems like a distant memory rather than a season that ended about 10 days ago. Oh well, time marches on. And so does my Project Pan empties challenge.

I Bought This, PR Samples, Affiliate Links

Here’s what I used up in September.

Bath & Body

As usual, bath & body was the largest category of empties. Let’s take a look.

Spongellé Heart-Shaped Soap Infused Body Buffer, Freesia Pear: I think that Spongellé’s body buffer are the easiest way to exfoliate ever. I love this version of soap-on-a-rope. It’s so easy to hang it to dry in my shower. It’s supposed to last for about 2 weeks, but it always last me for a month or longer. I adore the Freesia Pear scent: it’s not too strong but smells like spring to me. Lovely. Repurchase? I have another one waiting in the wings.

Spongellé Hand & Body Wash, Freesia Pear: This is the “matching” hand and body wash that came in the Freesia Pear Gift Set that is now sold out. Surprisingly, the scent is just slightly different from the body buffer. It’s nice, but not quite as spectacular as the Freesia Pear Body Buffer fragrance IMHO. It’s also a “thinner” body wash than some of the others I’ve used from other brands, and it doesn’t seem to produce as much lather as those other. Repurchase? It’s nice, but I think I prefer other brands of body wash where the gel is a little thicker.

Village Naturals Aromatherapy FIJI Handcrafted Natural Soap: I have had this fragrant soap for ages because I brought it to Jeff’s to use it in the shower there (and I don’t go there all that often). It was a beautiful raspberry color, and it smelled pleasantly tropical. It lathered well and left my skin feeling lightly hydrated. Repurchase? Unfortunately, Village Naturals (owned by the company that owns Mr. Bubble) doesn’t seem to make bar soap anymore. Too bad.

Hand Over Heart Pure Cleansing Bars, Therapeutic Lemongrass: This was the second of the two bars of natural and organic soap that I got from Hand Over Heart. The other one was Citrus Lavender scent. I’ve decided I liked both scents equally well. The soap itself is easy to lather, lightly hydrating, and has a pleasant aroma that doesn’t remain on the skin. I liked it! Repurchase? I recommend this brand of bar soap. I always seem to purchase artisan-made bar soaps at craft fairs, so I may not buy Hand Over Heart but it’s an excellent soap.

Nature Island Botanicals Lotion, Citrus Sunrise: Unfortunately, Daphne, the owner and maker of Nature Island Botanicals, decided not to return to the Waterfront Craft Festival in Gloucester MA because she said she didn’t make enough money there to justify it. As a result, I don’t get to buy as much from her. Boo. The rich, thick body lotion (thicker than her body butter, that doesn’t make sense) has been among my favorites for more than a decade. I love both the Citrus Sunrise and Caribbean Escape scents. Repurchase? Yes. When she has her holiday promotion with free or discounted shipping, I will order more.

Sweet & Shimmer Sugar Cookie Hand Lotion: I bought this inexpensive hand lotion at Ulta.com when I needed to spend a little more to make the threshold for free shipping a couple of years ago. I liked the pleasant gourmand scent of this medium weight hand lotion. Repurchase? I have several hand lotions, so I will not run out and buy this. But if I need another inexpensive purchase to get free shipping, I would add it on again. Now, it has even cuter packaging.

Pistaché Skincare Pistachio Oil Hydrating Hand Cream: I bought this travel size hand cream on Ipsy.com as a $3 add-on just to try it. It has a rich, nutty aroma that lasts for a few minutes after application. The lotion itself is pastel green and nourishing. It definitely is hydrating. Repurchase? If I see it again online, I would buy more. It’s a nice hand cream.

Skincare

L’Occitane Immortelle Divine Cleansing Cream, travel size: Jeff’s daughter gave me L’Occitane’s holiday makeup bag with skincare minis for Hanukkah last year, and I took it with me to Montreal. I loved the Immortelle Divine Cleansing Cream. It was very gentle and left my skin feeling clean but hydrated. I think it might have had a light, but not lasting fragrance. Repurchase? If I needed cleanser, I would consider this one, especially for the colder weather months, but the $44 price tag for 4.2 oz. might give me pause.

L’Occitane Immortelle Divine Eye Balm, travel size: I goofed. The cute little jar was so small, I couldn’t read the name on it. Instead of realizing it was an eye balm, I thought it was a body balm. Silly me! Now wonder I thought this balm was easier to apply than many other body balms that can often be too stiff. It spread easily and wasn’t sticky. Duh, because it was an eye balm! Plus it was a firming eye balm, and I missed out. Repurchase? Probably not because the price of the full size is $95, and I lost my chance to try it out as it was meant to be used. Ugh.

Beauty Tools

Koh Gen Do Pure Cotton Pads: Koh Gen Do Pure Cotton Pads are my favorite makeup removing cotton pads. They are rectangular and big enough to remove all my makeup using one pad. So soft and made from organic cotton. The only downside is that they are more expensive than others. But I think they’re worth it. Repurchase? Marcia generously gave me another bag that I’m already using. This brand of cotton pads is a staple in my stash that I have repurchased many times. I just noticed that it’s on sale at Macy’s right now, and Rakuten has 10% cash back at Macy’s. Hmmm, maybe I should get one for my stash.

Makeup

Urban Decay Anti-aging Primer Potion, travel size: This eye primer in the travel size has been my go-to for years. Repurchase? I already did.

Fragrance

Sylvaine Delacourte Paris Parfums, Florentina: A couple of years ago, I bought 6 travel size purse sprays from Sylvaine Delacourte Paris Parfums. Florentina, the powdery iris & violet scent, was my favorite from the musk collection. The scent is light, spring-like and smells like a high-end baby powder. I just wish it lasted longer on me. This was the 3rd travel spray, so I am out of it now. Repurchase? Even though it isn’t long-lasting on me, I do love it. I am waiting till they have a good promotion and then, I will buy some more. Right now, the 7.5 and 100 ml sizes are sold out, but the 30 ml size is available.

Project Pan Update

In September, I used up 12 beauty products. I started the month with 109 empties, and now I’m at 121, just short of my 2022 goal of 125. Yay!

What did you use up recently that you intend to repurchase?
