Project Pan Update November 2021

The year is coming to a close, and I think I’m getting close to my 2021 goal of 125 empties.

PR Samples, I Bought This, Affiliate Links

Here’s what I used up in November:

Vegamour GRO Lovestruck Biotin Gummies for Hair: These heart-shaped 5000 mcg strawberry gummies with a little sugar on top are the most delicious biotin I have ever tasted. I love ’em. I have to restrain myself to only eat one a day. Repurchase? Thankfully, I have one more jar left, but I am considering buying another jar during the 25% off Cyber Week sale that ends on Thursday (today).

Popmask Jet Setter 5 Self-Warming Sleep Masks: I love these self-warming sleep masks for travel. It took me a long time to use this box up because I haven’t been traveling. I could use them at home for my dry eyes, but they can’t be recycled so I save them for travel, especially air travel because they don’t contain gel. Repurchase? I recently saw a box of them at Nordstrom Rack, but they were being sold for the same price at the Rack as they are at department stores, so I passed. I think someone forgot to reprice them for the Rack, but the cashier didn’t want to check for me. I have one more box left.

Aveda Shampure Shampoo: I loved the herbal aroma of this natural shampoo from Aveda, and the formula worked well too. Repurchase? I am drowning in shampoo, so I won’t buy it now. When I looked for a link to the Aveda Shampure Shampoo page on their website, I see that the name and the packaging are slightly changed: Aveda Nurturing Shampoo. Some customers seemed to think the formula was changed. Hmmm. Anyone try it recently?

Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Face Serum: I really loved this lightweight gel-cream facial serum that I got in one of my Ipsy bags or that I bought from Ipsy. It’s a multitasker that can also double as a primer. It made my face feel so smooth and plumped. Repurchase? I have a travel size that I bought from Ipsy yet to use, and I have about a million facial serums I need to make a dent in first. But I strongly recommend it, too.

Keoni Full Spectrum Hemp Gummies 500 mg: These are hands down the most delicious gummies I have ever tasted, and now I think I might know why. I thought hemp and CBD were the same, but according to what I’ve read, they’re not. The gummies are made from oil. CBD oil comes from the leaves, flowers and stalks of the hemp plant, and contain a lot of CBD that has been shown to have potential health benefits. Hemp seed oil comes from the seeds of the Cannabis sativa plant and does not contain CBD or the psychoactive compound, THC. Hemp seed oil contains omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, gamma-linolenic acid, and other nutritional antioxidants and is also high in B vitamins and vitamin D. All the CBD gummies I have used have a sharp flavor that is masked by the flavor of the gummies. These hemp gummies don’t have that sharp taste and are just delicious. It’s interesting to learn the difference. I have to review Keoni Hemp Gummies on the blog as well as two brands of CBD gummies. Repurchase? I have another jar of 1000 mg Keoni Hemp Gummies waiting in the wings, luckily. I’m curious to find out how Hemp Gummies that are twice as strong will work out. But I’m even more curious to find out if Keoni still makes Hemp Gummies because I can’t find them online anywhere. Hmmm.

City Beauty Line-Blurring Wrinkle Filler: This wrinkle-filler is very similar to one I have used from Neostrata. They are both gels that settle into and fill wrinkles for a somewhat smoother look. Repurchase? No, I need to finish up the Neostrata one first. And I sort of use Tatcha Silk Canvas Face Primer rather than adding another product to give me a smoother look when I wear foundation. BTW, I just went to the City Beauty website, and it looks like they are still having their 40% off sitewide sale through 12/3.

South of France Cherry Blossom Foaming Hand Wash: I love all of the natural, very affordable South of France hand washes and bar soaps I’ve tried. They all smell lovely. Foaming Cherry Blossom was no exception. Repurchase? I think I have one more bottle of SoF Hand Wash yet to use. But SoF costs between $2.86-3.49 a bottle. You can’t beat it. It’s sold at Bed Bath & Beyond, Swanson Health Products, iHerb, and Vitacost.

Emery Board from Rockport MA: My friend, Sybille, gave me two of these touristy emery boards from a gift shop in Rockport MA. They are just cheesy enough to be a lot of fun. I keep them at my desk. This one is completely used, all the grit is gone. Repurchase? Probably not, but they are a cute addition to hand cream and nail polish gift baskets.

Sample Packets

Doctor Babor Lifting Rx Collagen Cream and 111Skin Space Defence Bright Eye Lift Gel: Both lifting cream packets were nice little samples. I don’t think either one had a fragrance. And they both seemed to work well, though they were only single use packets. I would be very happy if I found 111Skin Bright Eye Lift Gel as one of the products on Ipsy since they often carry 111Skin skincare.

Tosses

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in shade, Bill: My bad, I didn’t use this formerly bouncy Super Shock shadow enough and it dried out. Boo. It was a very pretty shade of mauve, not as dark as it looks in the photo above. Repurchase? No, as much as I like CP Super Shock Shadows, I am moving away from them because they dry out before I am ready to toss them.

Project Pan Update

In November, I used up 8 full size products. (The two sample packets don’t count.) Decent, but somehow I thought I was going to use up more, but I have quite a few beauty products that are “almost empty”, so they should be part of my December total. I started the month of November with 109 empties to reach my goal of 125 for the year. Adding this month’s 8 empties brings me to 117. I need 8 more empties in December to make my goal. I will do it, but I better get to work.

How about you? What did you use up in November?

  1. As soon as I saw Aveda shampoo on your list, I immediately scrolled down to read your review. I like their products as well, but it’s been a while since I used anything from the brand, so I’m thinking of maybe buying a shampoo & conditioner set or a hair mask to refresh my memory. Thank you for the note on the name change!

    1. I was surprised that Aveda made changes to the Shampure collection. I read a few of the reviews for one of the new Shampure shampoos, and a couple of women felt like Aveda had changed the formula. So check out the reviews first 😉

  2. I admire your commitment to this. i tried and then I got tired of the clutter in my closet. lol. I have tried a few thing from 111Skin…and they were awesome. But I’m afraid the full sized items are just out of budget so I enjoy what pops up in my ipsy box.

    1. Thanks, Claudia! It helps me use things up rather than sit around half empty. I really love 111Skin, but like you, I feel it’s out of my price range. One of the benefits of my Ipsy Plus subscription is getting 111Skin in my Plus Bag or buying it during their promos for way less than retail.

I’m using a 111Skin Face Cream from Ipsy right now. Almost out though…

    1. Ipsy was how I got introduced to 111Skin. I have a few serums that I am still using, but I don’t know if I have gotten to try any of the creams. Since you quit Ipsy and I went to every other month, I’m not up on the products they’re selling at a discount. I should go and look

  4. Excellent job with your November empties, Allison! I love the South of France hand soaps so much! I used up my last bottle a while ago, and would definitely purchase more once I finish up all of my bottles of Baylis & Harding hand soaps.

    1. South of France is truly a bargain. Baylis & Harding is on my to try list, but I haven’t been to WMT in a couple of years

  5. I love how close you are to your goal. That’s a lot more empties than I’d ever have. I tossed many things this month because of age and totally used up IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Serum (and have two new ones in reserve since I love the serum).

    1. I love IT Bye Bye Serum, too. I used to use it as my primer. Great stuff!
