Shop, an Easy Way to Shop Online

At some point during this year, I managed to “join” Shop, an easy way to shop online. Honestly, I don’t remember signing up for it, and truth be told, I’m not absolutely sure I need help with shopping. It’s one thing that I’m pretty darn good at.

What Shop does when I’m shopping is at the checkout page, it autofills my information, so it’s a one-click checkout. Also, it may also save my preferred credit card, although I usually don’t ever like to save my card numbers. I’ve gotta check on that.

Shop also gives you the opportunity to get interest-free payments up to 12 months.

In exchange for purchasing online items via Shop Pay, I accrue 1% of the purchase price in Shop cash. The Shop cash builds up (for a while before it disappears) and it can be used to shop on the Shop app at a discount. Also, different brands on the site have different offers.

I’m not sure that I understand how it works, but I had accrued about $5 in Shop Cash, and with that, I was able to buy an item I had never tried before for free. I just paid $5 in shipping costs. The brands that participate on Shop vary from well-known beauty, clothing, accessories, decor and other categories.

As you can tell, I’m not sure I completely understand Shop, but so far, it seems intriguing.

Pura Smart Scent

I learned a little bit about the brand Pura on Shop or else on Facebook (I’m sure you’re not surprised by that!). As you probably know, I love fragrances…perfumes, home fragrances. I started reading about several of the Pura scents, and they sounded very appealing to me. It appeared that the scents were for fragrancing one’s home. They’re described as “clean scents” and that sounded like a good idea for a home fragrance, especially since I have asthma.

I have a few diffusers both the stick variety as well as plugin versions. It appeared to me from a quick read and from viewing the product online that Pura Smart Scents were like essential oils. I surmised that I could use Pura products in the diffusers that I already own. Great idea, right?

Because so many of the fragrances sounded divine, I had a difficult time choosing the fragrance that I wanted to try. I finally decided on Kashmir, described as an exotic, spicy scent, the kind I usually love.

bottle of Pura Kashmir Fragrance Refill for a scent diffuser

Kashmir from the Archipelago brand collection arrived today. I was surprised at how tiny it is. It came in a tiny square bottle described as a Refill holding 10 ml/0.33 fl. oz. Fortunately, I “bought” this from the Shop app, and I paid $6 for shipping and part of the tax. Shop paid the $19.99 for the fragrance.

Nevertheless, my minuscule scent, Kashmir, truly smells fabulous: hypnotic, romantic, exotic. Pura describes the accords as:

  • orange blossom
  • sandalwood
  • Kashmir vanilla.

Kashmir is characterized as an Amber (my favorite) and Woody scent. The notes include:

  • Top: blood orange, mandarin zest
  • Middle: clove leaf, nutmeg, ylang blossom
  • Bottom: cedarwood, patchouli, vanilla bean

Pura Smart Scents come in zillions of fragrances from 37 different brand collections including Anthropologie, Disney, LAFCO New York (where I used to shop for niche fragrances when I lived in NYC), NEST New York, Antica Farmacista, Soap & Paper Factory, and more.

In addition, Pura Smart Scents are cruelty-free, have no harsh chemicals, and no sulfates, phthalates etc.

Tonight, I took out my Guru Nanda mini diffuser, found the correct cord that I had stored with a million other plugs, added water to the device, turn the little vial upside down and squirted a few drops into the water and pressed the start button.

Lovely fragrant steam is coming out of the top of the diffuser. Yay! For $6 and change, I have a luxe new diffuser oil in a fragrance that is very different from all the other more traditional essential oils in my stash.

Also, I saved $49.99 by using my own diffuser. Pura has several diffusers that they sell that plug into the wall outlet that hold up to two different mini-bottles of oil like Kashmir. You don’t add water to the Pura 4 Diffuser, so I imagine that the scent is even more potent. Once you put the scent bottle(s) in the Pura 4, you use an app on your phone to program the device.

Pura appears to be a high quality, ultra-modern scent system that you can customize according to your mood or visitors’ preferences etc. But I don’t want to spend $50 or even the $39.99 that Amazon is selling it for on yet another diffuser, so I will enjoy Kashmir in my Guru Nanda.

Nevertheless, the Pura Smart Scent System seems like a cool item to remember when shopping for gifts for the holidays. 😀

Have you tried Pura Smart Scents for either the home or the car? Yes, they can scent your vehicle too! Do you own any of Pura’s diffusers? I’m curious to hear from other people who own the complete Pura system. So if you have tried Pura, please comment and fill me in on your experience.

You and I have very similar taste in fragrances, so I think I would LOVE this!

    1. Kashmir smells divine! It’s more floral than my usual choice in perfumes, but since it’s scenting a room, it’s delightful! G’mar chatima tovah
