I’ve been under the weather for the past few weeks, and sometimes taking a hot shower helps me feel better. Thank goodness I discovered Rituals Zensation Organic Rice Milk & Cherry Blossom Shower Foam! It takes a normal shower to the next level.
Back in September, I splurged on Frederic Malle’s Lipstick Rose Perfume at Barney’s (Lipstick Rose perfume reviewed here) that I had been lusting after but that also helped me qualify for a huge makeup bag filled with at least $200 worth of makeup, skincare, fragrance and body care products. A full size bottle of Rituals Zensation Organic Rice Mile & Cherry Blossom Shower Foam was in the bag.
Rituals Zensation really is foaming shower gel. I spray out a little of the thick clear liquid into my hand. When a bit of water is added, the liquid turns into foam in my hand. I tried making a Vine video, but I couldn’t handle the camera and the shower foam canister at the same time. I’m sure that you get the idea.
The scent is so difficult to describe, but then maybe that’s what cherry blossom smells like. It’s a delicately sweet floral scent, not at all overwhelming.
The gel foam goes a long way. Just a little squirt turns into a ton of foam.
And the best part, in addition to the relaxing scent, is that it leaves my skin feeling hydrated. According to the Rituals Zensation website, they “combine Organic Rice Milk, a natural ingredient that nourishes the skin and leaves it silky soft, with Cherry Blossom, the Japanese symbol of purity.” So it’s the rice milk that makes my skin feel so good. Although my super-dry skin still needs some lotion during the cold weather, if I’m in a real rush, I can skip the lotion. If you have normal skin, you could definitely skip the lotion.

I have, and absolutely love, their shower foams. This is probably my favorite! It also does a superb job as a shaving cream– your legs and underarms will thank you for it!

I think I have a sample of this (or some Rituals shower foam) somewhere. I have to dig it out and check out the fragrance. I;m not a fan of rice milk, but cherry blossom sounds like my kind of scent.

I hope you start feeling better soon! I don’t know that I’ve ever tried a shower gel like this, but I think I’d really like it! Anything that helps moisturize my skin during the winter time is so appreciated and very much needed!

The rubber ducky makes another appearance!! 🙂 I’ve heard rice and rice milk is really nourishing for the skin, but I don’t think I’ve ever tried any products that contained it. Usually I find that shower gels (especially foaming) can be less moisturizing that creams, so I’m glad this has so many nourishing ingredients to match that! Sometimes I’m in a rush and have to skip the body lotion, too.

This luxury shower gel is unlike anything I’ve tried. It’s certainly not like shave gel foam. It starts out as a rich liqui-gel and when water hits it, it foams up. It’s unusual but so lovely.
I’m normally a citrus fan but the cherry blossom fragrance sounds so soothing.

Me too. Typically, I go for citrus or coconut, but this has such a lovely light floral-ish scent (and I’m not usually a fan of florals!). Zensation is the perfect name for it! But I think Rituals also has a shower gel in a citrus scent that I believe I noticed on the website.

Tiki, I don’t feel that I can give you the absolute answer on whether Rituals Zensation is safe for sensitive skin. I have dry skin and my face is sensitive, but I don’t use this on my face. Rituals is a Dutch luxury brand with products made with natural, organic and sustainable ingredients. It’s cruelty-free. Its skincare products are dermatologist-tested. However, to answer your specific skincare concerns, I think you’d need to contact them or one of their retailers. For me, it’s unbelievably gentle and nicely hydrating but I don’t have any particular body skin issues other than dryness.
Oh that’s fine. I wouldn’t use it on my face either but my body is sensitive too. I don’t know know what’s going on but the older I get the more things I’m allergic to. lol

That must be so difficult to have sensitive skin on your body, too. Makes me think Aveeno. Also, an artisan soap-maker friend in Brooklyn started making her own soap because she had such sensitive skin she couldn’t find anything nice, interesting but gentle to use.
This stuff looks AMAZING! I love cherry blossom scents – sweet but not overwhelming. And I hear you on trying to hold a camera and demo-ing something at the same time 😛

This is my first time using anything cherry blossom and I love it.
It’s one of my favourite scents. They are such a great products. Mousse works great, you only need a tiny bit and smell is divine. Huge fan 🙂
