RIKI Loves RIKI Super Fine 7x Magnifying Mirror

I Bought This, Affiliate Links

After impulsively buying the RIKI Cutie Ipsy Exclusive Mirror (reviewed here) back in November and discovering that it is not a magnifying mirror, I decided to bite the bullet and buy a mirror that I could actually use. So I did. The RIKI Super Fine 7x Magnifying Mirror, the Iridescent version.

The 7x magnification is perfect for me since I have trouble seeing closeup since my cataract surgery. There is also a 5x magnification that’s on sale for more than $20 less than this one, and I believe there is also a 10x magnification that has been out of stock for a while. It’s a pleasure to be able to see well via the magnifying mirror and the lighting. 7x is just right for me for seeing fine hairs but without being grossed out by seeing every pore and imperfection.

The illumination on this mirror is incredible. The lowest level of light is plenty bright.

The two brighter levels actually hurt my eyes they’re so bright. I wouldn’t hesitate to use this mirror in a blackout because it would illuminate an entire room at the higher levels!

Like the RIKI Cutie, it comes with the retractible two finger holder that is stored inside the mirror.

By turning the holder perpendicularly, it can be used to slightly prop up the mirror, though it doesn’t have a device to prop it up all the way like the RIKI Cutie has. I mostly just hold it when I’m using it so I can get it close to my eyes or face.

The 4 inch round Super Fine 7x comes with a protective mirror case with a Velcro closure that easy to use and makes the mirror perfect to slip into a purse.

It also comes with a very well-made, sturdy travel size jewelry case that can also be used to store and protect the mirror and to hold the USB charging cord. IMHO, the jewelry case is unnecessary.

Frankly, I wish they didn’t include the jewelry case and took the price down about $10. But this is how they sell it, and it does prevent me from losing the charging cord.

The Super Fine 7x also comes in pink, white and rose gold, all of which are currently out of stock. The Iridescent might be a little childish, but I think it’s fun.

This 7x portable mirror is priced at $65. I can’t remember if I bought it on sale, but you can always get a percent off by signing up for emails. I think it would make an excellent Valentine’s Day gift for yourself or someone else who would enjoy have a highly usable magnifying mirror.

  1. The jewelry case seems like a senseless expense! I need this! I put my magnifying mirror in my window for natural light when I apply my eye makeup. This is a perfect solution! Thank you for reviewing this, Allison!

    1. I was doing the same thing, standing by the window. But sunshine and bright light isn’t something we have that much of in MA during the winter, so this was a perfect solution. I had a less expensive lighted 5x from Conair, but this one from Riki is much better quality and the 7x is the perfect magnification for me.

  2. Hi, Allison – I have been wanting a bigger and better magnifying mirror than the one I have so I’m definitely interested in this! I like the iridescent case the best. Sparkle and shine is always good by me. I get envious of my four-year-old granddaughter’s fluffy rainbow clothes with sparkles. Lol! So glad you shared this. Thanks – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

    1. You should take a look at all of Riki Loves Riki magnifying mirrors because they have a big selection of all sizes. I feel the same envy that you do about your granddaughter’s sparkly clothes and accessories. Why didn’t they have that stuff when we were kids?

This looks great! I have a Simple Human 10X in my bathroom and I never use it for makeup….too much magnification, lol. I’ve been using little 5X with no lights for that. So, your lighted 7X looks perfect. Thanks for this post!

    1. You’re welcome, Valerie! So nice to hear from you again. I feel the same way about a 10x, I don’t need to see every pore that I have, lol. The light on the Riki Super Fine is so bright, the lowest setting is perfect especially during the winter when sunshine around here is not exactly dependable.

  4. I love that it’s iridescent. And since I lose things easily I’d like the compartment to store my plugs. I have a mirror that has two sides so I can turn it to be magnified but it’s on its last legs and we can’t figure out how to tighten it. This would be a pretty alternative.

    1. Yes, the “jewelry case” is definitely handy for storing and not losing cords. It’s big enough and gaudy enough that I can’t miss it when looking for the charging cord. I need to put the cord from my non-magnifying Riki mirror in the case as well.

What a cool little mirror! I have the one I got in my Glam Bag X, but I like this one too.

    1. Allison says:

It’s perfect for me, thank goodness! With the 7x magnification I can see. And the quality of the mirror is excellent. Is the one you got in your X Bag a magnifying mirror?

      1. Gabrielle says:

        No, mine is just lighted.
