I’m a big fan of RITUALS Sakura, cherry blossom, bath and body products.
I have used three cans of their Foaming Shower Gel (though I have had a problem with the nozzle), and I adore my Sakura Bath and Body Mist. The light, somewhat sweet cherry blossom scent is one of my favorite everyday scents because it’s not overpowering. In spite of the fact that I’m not usually a fan of florals, cherry blossom and especially Rituals of Sakura is an exception to that rule. To me, it’s springtime in a bottle!
When we arrived in Amsterdam at Schipol Airport, one of the first stores I noticed was RITUALS. Then I saw another RITUALS store in Amsterdam Centraal, the huge train station. There was another store in the Leidesplain shopping streets near our house. I was really surprised by how ubiquitous RITUALS was in Amsterdam. I thought it was a Japanese brand. Imagine my surprise when the sales associate in the RITUALS department of the big Dutch department store, De Bijendorf, encouraged me to buy more because RITUALS is a Dutch brand and was less expensive in the Netherlands. I had wanted to buy a bottle of the liquid Sakura Bath and Shower Gel, but it only came in a large size, and I was concerned about how I would get it back home without it spilling all over my clothes in my suitcase. So I settled for a tube of Sakura Soothing Hand Balm. After I tried it, I wished I had bought several tubes.
A small pearl of Rituals of Sakura Hand Balm makes my skin feel like silk. I thought there must be silicone in it, but I don’t see it in the ingredient list below – it must be the glycerin that makes it feel so smooth. It also makes my skin look and feel smooth, nourished and plumped. Plus it smells heavenly.
In the past, I’ve purchased RITUALS products at Barney’s, but I discovered the brand is also sold at Macy’s and Ulta. That’s good news for me. Macy’s is having 15% off sale on beauty this week. Also, I can use Ulta’s $3.50 off of $15 next time I need to pick up a tube. In Amsterdam at De Bijendorf, Sakura Hand Balm was priced at 9.5 euros which at 1 euro costing about $1.30 makes the price for me about $13.50. In the US, the Hand Balm is priced at $17, so with the Ulta coupon, the price is essentially the same (as long as the US dollar is at a disadvantage to the euro.) At any rate, I like this hand cream a lot. Definitely worth the price. Since I found out RITUALS is Dutch and I was impressed with Dutch quality during my trip, I like the brand even more.

In my hotel in Barcelona the toiletries were all made by Rituals. I was happy to see such a great brand there. We used things up while there since we were just there two nights or I’d have brought them home.

Good question, Cindy!! I should add to the post that all Rituals body care products come in 5 or 6 different scent families. So if you don’t like cherry blossom/Sakura, there are other options
