Usually I aim for wearing sandals for the first time after winter around my birthday in mid-April, but not this year. In fact, there were still snow showers from time to time around my birthday!
But spring has finally sprung in the formerly frozen north, and it’s been sandals weather on and off for the past few weeks.
When I got my birthday coupon from DSW Shoe Warehouse in April, I used it to buy a couple of new pairs of everyday sandals, a pair of flat sandals to replace a pair I had to throw away at the end of last summer because they were completely worn out and ripped, and a pair of taupe kitten heel sandals. Both have straps made of elastic for a snug fit.
Though I haven’t been able to wear those sandals or any others I own till recently because of the chilly weather, I noticed my feet needed some TLC before I went out in sandals. Enter Farmhouse Fresh Instant Pedicure Sampler. I love FHF’s sampler kits coz they are such a great way to try out a few of their fab products to determine which are must-haves.
FHF Instant Pedicure Sampler consists of three products:
- Honey Lavender Sea Salt Scrub
- Honey Heel Glaze
- Honey Chai Steeped Milk Lotion.
Sometimes doing the first phase of a pedicure can seem like a big, labor-intensive deal, but not with these three delightful products. In fact, it took between 5-10 minutes (not counting painting my nails).
I sat down on the edge of my tub, ran some warm water, and scrubbed the crusty skin on my feet with Honey Lavender Sea Salt Scrub. I opened the jar and smelled the fabulous Honey Lavender scent that is very similar to the relaxing Buttermilk Lavender Hand Cream from the Steeped Milk collection. For those of you who aren’t fans of lavender scent, this doesn’t smell like lavender. It’s sweetly herbal and soothing. The oils and salt in the scrub began to transform my dry skin immediately. I helped things along, because it had been ages since I had a pedicure, with my handy Mont Bleu foot file.
Ingredients: Sodium Chloride, Water/Eau, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Parfum*, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Sea Salt, Oryza Sativa (Rice Bran Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Polysorbate 20, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Citric Acid.
I shut off the water and lightly towel dried my feet, and then I opened the next product in the trio: Honey Heel Glaze. I have never heard of a product like this. It’s a moisturizing serum that can be used on dry skin anywhere, especially effective for ashy heels or knuckles. In fact, it is on Oprah’s O-List! FHF Honey Heel Glaze hydrates and seals in the moisture. The scent is like autumn in a jar: a mixture of real wildflower honey, cinnamon and cloves. Yum. Honey is a natural humectant. It also contains aloe vera juice for added moisture, vitamins and pineapple and papaya extracts for smooth skin. It’s non-greasy, super smooth, and it dries quickly.
Ingredients: Water/Eau, Glycerin, Polysorbate 20, Polyquaternium-37, Honey/Miel, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Panthenol, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Ananas Sativus (Pineapple) Fruit Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Parfum*, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Potassium Sorbate, Lactic Acid, Caramel. *All FarmHouse Fresh fragrances are phthalate-free.
The last step is Honey Chai Steeped Milk Lotion. This calming, divine scent was well-known to me also from the FHF Steeped Milk collection. I had a tube of Honey Chai Steeped Milk Hand Lotion that I adored and used up this past winter. It’s a spiced-milk infusion of organic coconut milk and deeply satisfying cardamom. Plus it contains sodium hyaluronate for hydration. It was wonderful to wrap my feet in moisture with this fragrant, hydrating, non-greasy cream.
Ingredients: Water/Eau, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract, Elettaria Cardamomum Seed Powder, Glyceryl Stearate, Parfum*, Sodium Hyaluronate, Honey/Miel, Panthenol, Tremella Fuciformis Sporacarp Extract, Verbena Officinalis Extract, Ceratonia Silique (Carob) Fruit Extract, Beta Vulgaris (Beet) Root Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.
Then I trimmed my nails, and because I was in a rush, I put on a couple of quick coats of clear polish.
The entire process took 15 minutes. And what a difference it made in the look and feel of my feet. Finally, I’m sandal ready!

I love little sampler sets like this, what a great way to test all products. It’s definitely sandal season on my side too, usually I go for a pedicure to get my feet in tip top conditions and then maintain it myself for the next 6-7 weeks.
I usually get a pedi at a salon in the beginning of the summer, but I’m feeling particularly stingy this season with about a million other things (home repairs, car repairs, dentist etc.) so I’m afraid I’m doing it myself this season. Not nearly as much fun, waaaaaah
I love this sampler kit, unsurprisingly! I have already finished the foot scrub, and have made quite a dent in the glaze and lotion. FHF is really such a great brand, and I have yet to try one of their products that I didn’t really like or love! Super cute sandals!

These look and sound so nice. Living close to the beach and being in the sand is really hard on ones feet. These would do wonders for the feet keeping them really soft. 🙋🏻❤️ (One product that has worked for me is The Body Shop “Hemp” ointment in the tube. One of my must haves.)
Oh, I have always been curious about the Hemp line from TBS, DiEtta. I will check it out next time I go to the mall. The city just finished replacing the foot bridge to the beach that was washed away during the severe storms this past winter. We’ll finally be able to get onto the beach this week!!

I swear this brand can do no wrong. My feet are in desperate need of this and I actually think this would be a great gift for my husband for Fathers Day. He works on his feet all day and he enjoys the occasional pedicure!

That heel glaze is amazing! I used to have a jar of it, and I remember how much my feet loved it. It smells so good, and really cares for any rough spots.

The Honey Glaze is an unusual and unique product! The Sea Salt Scrub and Honey Chai Lotion are fabulous staples that I will need in the full size coz they’re that good, not only for feet, but for body too.
