Last year I was friended on Facebook by a woman who I went to high school with eons ago. To be honest, I don’t really remember her. Her name is familiar, but I have no idea how we knew each other. She looks terrific, but I don’t remember her face. At any rate, I’m glad we’re friends now. Every day, she posts a post on FB celebrating what special day it is often with a fun photo of her celebrating it. For instance, today she posted that it is National Wine Day. I’ll toast to that!

I was going to wait until National Daughter’s Day for this blogpost, but when I discovered that the big day isn’t until Saturday, September 25, I decided to write about this brand today. ScenTies. ScenTies makes fun, innovative, lightly scented accessories for young girls or for any small person who likes scented things.
ScenTies is a woman-owned and financed accessories business started by Kara, mother of four. I discovered that Kara and her family live just up the road apiece in the historic seaside town of Newburyport that I occasionally mention in my blogposts because I love to shop and browse in the boutiques there. A child of the 1980s, Kara grew up loving all things “scratch & sniff”. In fact, they inspired ScenTies, Stretch & Sniff Hair Accessories. She developed a patent-approved Stretch & Sniff Hair Ties, Headbands, Scrunchies, and Face Masks!
Instead of scratch & sniff, the way her products work is by stretching and sniffing them. Stretching the hair ties, scrunchies and mask ear loops releases a sweet scent like strawberry, cotton candy, bubblegum, watermelon, green apple etc. Such a cute idea for kids who love candy and fruity scents! And somehow, the microencapsulated scents are designed to last from 6 months up to a year!
I think ScenTies scented accessories are a great idea for Christmas stocking stuffers, Hanukkah gifts (since there are 8 nights of gift giving), birthday gifts and favors, back to school, or just a treat. Since so many young kids are required to wear a mask at school now, wearing a ScenTies mask would make it less onerous.
Also, another great thing about the ScenTies business is that they give back to those in need. ScenTies partnered with Child Mind Institute, which is, “an independent, national nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of children and families struggling with mental health and learning disorders.” In these pandemic times, more kids are struggling with mental health issues, and supporting ScenTies is one way to help. I’m 41 years old but I would buy these! I am going to check them out. My husband and I were saying we wish there were scented masks!

My granddaughter was thrilled with her Scenties package. She loved the designs and the fun fragrances. The scrunchies are her favorites.
