Usually, makeup subscriptions have the best stuff in December and February. Though I can’t really remember what the Christmas bags were like, I have not been disappointed by the February bags for both Ipsy and Sephora Play.
Here’s what came in my “Feel the Love” bag from Sephora Play.
The Play bag has lots of makeup this month. Yay!
- NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil, shade Let’s Go Crazy: I really like this pink-raspberry shade for a change from all the mauves, nudes and reds that I own. I am curious to see if I can wear this NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil because NARS matte lip pencils are sometimes too drying for me. But I love the color, and will try it over lip balm.
- Sephora Rouge Matte Lipstick, Rebel Chic: As always, I’m wary of matte lipstick, but I usually do better with matte lipsticks rather than matte liquid lipsticks. Plus I really lucked out with the gorgeous red Sephora Lip Cream from last month! Rebel Chic is a deep vampy red-brown. It goes well with the Trust Fund Beauty nail polish in Wine O’Clock that I got in my Ipsy bag. Although I wish that matte lipsticks were over, I’ll give both the NARS and the Sephora Rouge Matte a try because the shades are so nice.
- Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour, Rosegold: I got a taupe Caviar Stick a couple of months ago, and it was terrific. I hope that this pretty rosegold will be too. I could use it as both shadow and highlighter!
- belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb: I’m a huge brand of K-beauty brand, belif, so I was thrilled to get this travel size container of the Moisturizing Eye Bomb. You know I love eye gels, so this is an instant hit for me.
- Peter Thomas Roth FirmX Peeling Gel: I believe that this exfoliating gel is similar to two others that I own from SkinInc and Body Shop Drops of Youth Exfoliating Gel. I’ll put this in my travel bag.
- Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensée Cologne Absolue Pure Parfum: Finally, a fragrance sample that suits me! A combination of pure vanilla and wood moss. Lovely.
So I’m very pleased with this month’s Play bag. Everything suits me. In fact, the travel sizes of everything except for the belif Eye Bomb and the little vial of Vanille Incensee are plenty big for me. I know already I would like a bigger jar of belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb, and the Vanille Insensee is lovely so I may see if it comes in a rollerball. Let’s see what happens with Sephora Play next month.

These are totally up your alley! The gold caviar stick is STUNNING!
The rose gold Caviar Stick really is terrific. I got one in taupe a couple of months ago in my Play bag, and both of them stay on so well and are perfect for a quick look.
The Laura Mercier eye crayon is beautiful – that’s my favorite item in your bag.
The Caviar Stick is a really pretty shade that’s perfect for day or night. I wore it last night to a meeting, and like the taupe stick I got a couple of months ago, it’s stays on so well.

This is such a perfect collection of samples. I think that you could wear the two lippies together– along with the Trust Fund polish that you just go with Ipsy!

Right? I thought Play was pretty meh for most of 2017, but the past 3 months have been really good. They could tell I was thinking of quitting.

Now that is a fragrance I could get behind! I ALWAYS get the floraly ones and I’m not a huge fan of florals. I like the look of the NARS Lip Pencil you got, I might have to pick up that shade in the full-size, since you twisted my arm and all 😉
I was so happy to finally get a scent I liked. Vanilla almost always works for me. And the NARS is gorgeous and I can wear it over lip balm. I know you’d love it, and this shade would suit you, I think, too!

Yes, I do! I got a taupe one in a bag a couple of months ago, so I was happy to have a pretty rose gold Caviar Stick to add to my collection!
