September Ipsy Plus Bag “You Got This”

I Bought This, Affiliate Links

One of the disadvantages of switching my Ipsy Plus subscription to every other month is that it gets sent out later in the month. So it’s almost October, and I just got my bag a few days ago. But it’s not the end of the world.

Like in July, I forgot to sign on to Ipsy to choose my products, so they chose for me. However, I think they did a good job. I’m happy with my bag.

The theme is “You Got This”, and the items in my bag were rather comprehensive. So I would say they fit the theme.

The bag is the usual drawstring with You Got This in gold letters against a purple background. Not one of the most creative bags, but it does the job.

What’s In My September Ipsy Plus Bag?

Skincare

Refreshments Radiant Micellar Water: A couple of years ago, Ipsy launched their own brand of skincare products, Refreshments. Perhaps by now, the brand may be more than skincare. Nevertheless, this is the first product from Refreshments that I have received in my Ipsy Plus Bag. I’m down to the last quarter of the bottle of my go-to Bioderma Hydra Micellar Water, and I was thinking I would buy a new bottle. But instead, I’ll try out the Micellar Water from Refreshments. I’ll let you know how it goes. $18 BTW, the ingredients look great: Water, Propanediol, Glycerin, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters, Sodium Levulinate, Pentylene Glycol, Gluconolactone, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide * Certified Organic/Certifié Biologique

Seraphine Fruit Butter Lip Mask, Peach Nectar: Seraphine is a brand that Ipsy gives out every now and then. I know I have some Seraphine makeup brushes, and I’ve probably gotten other stuff over the years. This time, I received their Fruit Butter Lip Mask. It has a fruity scent that they call Peach Nectar that fades after a few minutes. The tinted deep pink mask itself is thick, juicy and nourishing. I am using it already. $25

Makeup!

Alleyoop Multi-Use Face Stacker: I love the Alleyoop Multi-talker Makeup Brush/Tool Set that I got a few months ago, so I was happy to see something else from Alleyoop in my bag this month. Plus, I love stacking makeup. I have two eyeshadow stacks, one from Melt and another from Kaja. This one from Alleyoop is a face stack with three cream products: highlighter, blush and bronzer/contour. The contour is even an appropriate shade for me. And if I might be able to use the contour as an eyeshadow, if the ingredients are safe for eyes. $38 Here are the swatches over bare skin:

OFRA Signature Palette, Symphony: I know there’s been some serious drama going on at or with OFRA over the past year, but there’s always so much drama going on in the cosmetics world that I kind of keep my head down and keep on scrolling. Nevertheless, what I do know about OFRA products, especially highlighters, is that they are very pigmented and long-wearing. I was happy to get this slim palette containing 4 eyeshadows and their Blissful champagne highlighter. The shadow shades are coral and rosy mauve shades I don’t have a lot of. So it’s a nice addition to my stash. $34 Here are the shades close up in direct sun and the swatches over bare skin in daylight:

Araceli Beauty Monarca Mascara, black: Though I just ended up with 4 minis and 2 tubes of my current mascara fave from Chella Beauty, I still wanted to try this mascara from Araceli Beauty. It’s avocado-enriched so it’s nourishing for lashes. It has a wand with fairly widely spaced plastic teeth, so I was afraid it might be clumpy. But it is actually a fabulous lengthening and volumizing mascara that easy to apply and doesn’t flake or clump. I like it! $19

My Thoughts on My September Ipsy Bag

This month’s bag was different from my usual Ipsy Plus Bag in that it contained 3 makeup products. Usually I get lots of skincare products and the occasional beauty tool. So, it was fun to get something different. I love the Alleyoop stack and the mascara and palette are makeup that I will use, in fact, I’ve used them already. I’m saving the micellar water till I use up the Bioderma HydraBio, but I will get to it in about a month or so. The lip mask is already in use.

The value of the bag was $134, somewhat lower than the value of most of my other bags that contain high-end skincare products. Now my Ipsy Plus Bag costs about $35 (more expensive than if I subscribed every month), I think, up $10 from when I first started several years ago. Nevertheless, I think I still got my money’s worth. No complaints this month.
