Smooth Hair with MASAMI Mekabu Shine Serum

In the summer, I received a care package from Conscious Beauty Collective to announce their holiday 2022 shop in Natick MA.

Conscious Beauty Collective is a group of clean beauty brands that have teamed up to promote their products. Over the past several months, I have been making my way through the box. I wish I hadn’t taken so long to discover MASAMI’s lovely hydrating shine drops!

My Poor Neglected Hair

This winter, I’ve been distracted with health issues, and my hair has been neglected. It’s been more than 6 weeks since my hair was last colored, and it has really grown. I need to figure out how to get the color done soon, but I don’t know if I can put my head back in the sink when they wash it. Any ideas besides the towel that they sometimes put under the neck?

Also, when I had my hair cut 6 weeks ago, I told Terry, my stylist, to leave it on the long side so it would cover my incision. Since then, it’s grown like crazy (biotin works, folks!), well past shoulder-length.

In addition to problems caused by lack of care, my hair was feeling and looking dry. My big bottle of not quite empty 10-in-1 Spray that I’ve been using for a few years may be expired because it doesn’t seem to be doing the job anymore. Ugh.

MASAMI Mekabu Shine Serum

In searching through the Conscious Beauty Collective box, I came upon MASAMI Mekabu Shine Serum. I remember that the PR person told me it was a fabulous product, and boy was she right!

MASAMI haircare products are created around the mission of clean haircare that hydrates. Their key ingredient is Mekabu, a Japanese botanical “wonder” ingredient from the ocean. It’s a hydrating ingredient from the Wakame leaf, a seaweed plant, that’s filled with ocean vitamins and minerals. MASAMI adds Mekabu powder purchased from a Japanese family-owned seaweed company to all of their haircare products.

The Shine Serum is a multi-tasking, lightweight, oil-free, and water-free products. Just a few drops of MASAMI Mekabu Shine Serum after towel-drying clean hair protects hair from heat styling and makes it look healthy, hydrated, smooth (frizz-free), and shine. It makes color-treated hair look more vibrant, and it provides nutrients for long-term nourishment.

In addition to using it after shampooing, it can be used everyday to make hair look shiny and smooth.

MASAMI Mekabu Shine Serum is cruelty-free, vegan, and is free from oil, water, mineral oil, sulfates, parabens, and phthalates. It does have a sweet fragrance if I sniff the pump, but a few drops on my hair doesn’t add any scent.

It comes in a 2 oz. plastic recyclable pump bottle and is priced at $34. Just a few drops go a very long way. For me, this product is a keeper!

MASAMI can be purchased on the MASAMI website, a Planet Beauty, Wolf & Badger, and Amazon (where there’s currently a 20% off coupon).

Ingredients:  Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Undaria Pinnatifida (Mekabu) Powder, Macrocystis Pyrifera (Kelp) Extract, Fragrance (our fragrance is naturally derived and phthalate-free).

Talk to your stylist about coming to your home to do your hair. You could wash etc in the shower. My niece has several customer that she goes to their homes ever couple of months.

Sounds like a winner. I know you are far from the salon so getting it washed especially after having color applied is going to be difficult. Ask your stylist about suggestions since I’m sure other people have problems.
