Snack-Sized Viseart Shadow Quad: Petits Fours Lilas

I Bought This, Affiliate Links

Over the last few weeks, I had been seeing photos and swatches of Viseart’s four new snack-sized eyeshadow quads with four bite-sized pans, Petits Fours:

  • Lilas
  • Framboise
  • Praline
  • Chocolat.

I am such a fan of Viseart Paris’ beautifully crafted, pigmented, easy to blend and wear eyeshadows. The full size palettes, though I own three, are spendy, so I’ve been pleased that they’ve been releasing smaller, much more affordable palettes over the past couple of years.

Inspired by yummy French pastries, the Petits Fours are the smallest palettes yet. But since I have never actually used up an eyeshadow palette, the smaller the better IMHO. The net weight is 6 grams so these are pretty tiny. In fact, the mini-palette fits in the palm of my hand.

Each color story contains two mini-mattes and two mini-shimmer shadows. The four Petits Fours options are neutral or neutralish. Praline is warm-toned peaches, Lilas is cool-toned mauves, and Framboise (strawberry) and Chocolat seem neutral-toned to me. I chose Lilas since cool-toned palettes can be hard to find.

The Lilas shades are from a mauve-y/silvery family. The colors are:

  • Fondant – Iced silver rose with a shimmer finish
  • Lilas – Light muted mauve with a matte finish
  • Tiramisu – Light cool taupe with a matte finish
  • Argentée – Silver with a shimmer finish

Here are the swatches on my arm in indoor light:

The shades are lovely. They remind me of a spring day or an icy snow day. However, on my light skin tone with my reddish-purple lids, I’m wondering if I made the right choice?

So far, it is a good everyday quad for me. I have worn them over Urban Decay Anti-aging Primer Potion, but I am at the end of the tube, and it was kind of dry.

I must search for my Anastasia Beverly Hills Shadow Primer that has a white base that really makes colors pop. I think that it might work better to make the shades stand out more on my skin since the two matte shadows especially are so close to my own pinkish skin tone that they are hard to see.

I saw photos of swatches on a deeper skin tone on the Viseart website, and I think they look totally different and even better.

The shadows were, like other Viseart shadows, easy to apply and blend and were long wearing.

Each quad is priced at $22. I bought mine at Beautylish right before Black Friday. What was I thinking, right? They are also available, of course, on the Viseart website. Maybe I was dreaming, but I thought they were at Sephora a couple of weeks ago, but they are no longer on the Sephora website. Maybe the sold out? If I remember correctly, Sephora was selling them two for $27. I was confused by that. I thought they were $27 each, so that’s why I bought Lilas on Beautylish. I guess at that super affordable price, it’s no wonder they are no longer available. It could have been a mistake?

At any rate, I think these adorable cuties would make perfect stocking stuffers for an eyeshadow lover. Check ’em out if you haven’t already.

  2. Sephora never had them and they weren’t available on Beautylish for Black Friday so don’t kick yourself. I bought Lilas from Muse Beauty and it was discounted but I’d happily have paid full price. I can’t wait til it comes.

    1. That is so strange, Marcia. I swear I saw two of them together on Sephora.com for $27, and it was very confusing…and then they disappeared. Hmmm, reverse magic, I guess. At any rate, I am glad you will be getting yours soon. I am unfamiliar with Muse Beauty (as if I need another tempting beauty site since I have been buying too much lately after doing very little shopping all year). I am eager to hear how the shades suit you. I think they will be even more flattering on your fair skin tone. Meanwhile, I am still on the hunt for my ABH white eye primer to see if I can get the 2 matte shades to show up more on my lids 😉

Beautiful little palette and it would be a perfect color for me too. Oh well, it wasn’t meant to be.

Sandy, I am not giving up on it yet. I’m going to find the white ABH Eye Primer and give it a try, or try applying over a pink cream shadow as a base. So glad that Cindy confirmed that the quads were at Sephora. I’d keep my eyes open for more sales on it before Christmas at Viseart, Beautylish, Muse Beauty, etc. This year, I think sales will continue throughout the holiday season. BTW, did you have a nice Tday? Hope so!

  4. You’re not crazy! I saw on Sephora too and almost the same one but then I ended up buying 2 Colourpop palettes instead. I the swatches for this palette!
