Softening My Wrinkles with Exuviance Targeted Wrinkle Repair

When it comes to wrinkle repair at my age, I don’t expect miracles. I think it’s important to do what you can to stave off wrinkles for as long as possible, but I don’t expect any topical skincare to make them disappear.

Nevertheless, I was open to trying out Exuviance Targeted Wrinkle Repair to see what it might do for my skin.

i received a slim brushed silver tube of Exuviance Targeted Wrinkle Repair back in the spring. I was testing another product that I thought could interfere with it, so I put the Exuviance away and proceeded to lose it in my stash. Fortunately, I hunted for it a couple of months ago, and there it was waiting for me.

I’ve reviewed quite a few skincare products over the past few years from Exuviance. The physician-scientists who started the company were the ones who first introduced glycolic acid peels as skincare. Their approach to skincare is decidedly scientific. I’ve had good results from skincare products from Exuviance as well as from NeoStrata, the sister brand.

Exuviance Targeted Wrinkle Repair comes in a pump cylinder that looks like metal (think aluminum) but may actually be a very sturdy plastic with a metallic finish. It’s very attractive.

The pump works very well to allow me to pump out just a small amount of the translucent white gel that I apply to specific areas of my face. I apply it to my deepest wrinkles between my eye brows (I guess I must have been scowling a lot over the years), my crow’s feet, fine lines that were forming along the bottom of my eye sockets, and the vertical “marionette” lines alongside my nose and mouth.

It has no discernible scent. It is gentle, doesn’t sting in any way.

Here’s what Exuviance says about the formula and how it works by plumping and strengthening the skin’s own matrix:

  • Triple Boost Formula CitraFill®, NeoGlucosamine® and Matrixyl® Peptides attack the look of deep wrinkles from within the skin
  • Enhances skin’s natural collagen and matrix to reduce the look of lines and wrinkles
  • Volume is increased over time, directly beneath deep lines and creases, so they appear filled, smoother
  • 95% noticed improvement in targeted lines after only one week of twice daily use, data on file.

I have been using Exuviance Targeted Wrinkle Repair once a day at night instead of the twice a day that Exuviance recommends. OK, I didn’t follow the instructions. So to be perfectly honest, after one week, I didn’t experience any changes in my skin. I didn’t expect to. Instead, I have continued using the product once a day before bed.

I’ve been using Exuviance Targeted Wrinkle Repair for almost three months. I haven’t used up the tube yet. A little goes a long way.

My Results

So how did it perform? The deepest wrinkles between my brows are still somewhat visible, although the wrinkle on the left side is actually beginning to disappear! Frankly, I can’t believe it. Honestly, those wrinkles are much less deep than they were before I started using Exuviance Targeted Wrinkle Repair. They used to feel like craters, and now they are much shallower. In this particular area, my skin is plumper and the Wrinkle Repair seems to be acting like filler.

My crow’s feet are still there but only when I smile strongly. And they’re softer than they were before I started using Exuviance Targeted Wrinkle Repair.

The vertical folds from my nose to my mouth haven’t changed much. I don’t think I expected them to change.

The fine lines that were starting to form on my eye sockets are less visible than they were in the winter/late spring when they were getting worse every day. I’m hoping that if I continue, they will fade further.

I definitely intend to keep going and use up the tube. If the wrinkles on my brow and my eye wrinkles continue to soften, I’ll be repurchasing. I’m hopeful. I should probably start using it twice a day.

Because I’m decidedly older, I didn’t expect a completely smooth face. I think if you’re in your early 40s or so and beginning to see crow’s feet or other fine lines forming, you’d be a perfect candidate for this skincare product. But I am still impressed with my results! I think I look better and a little younger than before I started.

Exuviance Targeted Wrinkle Repair contains 1 oz. and is priced at $68. Pricey, but I think it is worth it for the right candidates. Also, Exuviance is sold at Ulta Beauty where it’s a great product to buy during the 20% off event. (Hmm, note to self, buy a new tube now during the sale at Ulta!) It’s also sold on Dermstore.com where there are frequent 20-25% off sales. It’s also sold on the Exuviance website where new customers can get 15% off and an additional 7.5% cash back (now anyway) through Ebates.com. The website also has good sales from time to time.

Do you think you’re a good candidate for Targeted Wrinkle Repair? Do you have a favorite Exuviance skincare product?

I like your intro about “miracle”. Whenever patients see me for wrinkle reduction procedures, I say the same thing. I can’t promise you heaven but if we can achieve at least 75% satisfaction or take off 10 years from your age, would you be happy? 99.9% of the time, the answer is yes. We cannot prevent aging but we can delay wrinkles with great skincare and a little help from science! Now I need to add this brand to my list because believe it or not, I haven’t tried anything from them yet

    1. Kristi, I thought about doing a swatch but I honestly didn’t want to “waste” it taking a photo! I know that’s embarrassing to admit. It’s a translucent whitish gel-cream with no discernible scent. I’m impressed with this product. I’ve had really good experiences with just about all (except one) products from Exuviance that I’ve ever tried. I didn’t expect this one to work, but I was shocked to see that the wrinkles between my brows that were so deep are filling in. That’s a wow for me.

  11. A very interesting product indeed!
