Quick Trip to New Hampshire and Vermont
I’ve been MIA the last few days. Jeff and I went to visit friends who spend half the week in New Hampshire. My friend Sue is a ski fiend as well as a ski instructor, while her husband is a scholar who is writing a new book on a civil rights figure during the 1950s-60s. They invited us to hang out, go skiing (Jeff, not me), go snow shoeing (both of us), and drink wine. We had a very fun time, in spite of me forgetting my suitcase at home with all of my clothes and exercise attire! I essentially wore the same clothes for 4 days, ugh. But the snowshoeing in the woods was wonderful. Listen to the babbling brook we discovered while snow shoeing by clicking the the video below:
On our first day, there was a small blizzard that closed the lifts at the nearby mountains, so there was no skiing. Instead, we went to a quirky natural history museum with a tiny planetarium started by a local 19th century businessman in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. It was actually awesome, especially the planetarium.
Yesterday, Jeff drove me many miles out of our way, back to Vermont, to the headquarters of King Arthur Flour. I stocked up on bread baking and other baking supplies. Well worth the trip IMHO.
