When I buy nail polish, the majority of my purchases are creams. But on occasion, I need a change. In my last mini-haul from Zoya, a holo snuck into my cart, and I am so glad it did.
I chose Zoya Alicia, a silver linear holo with a touch of gold. To me, it has an almost bronze look in certain light as the silver and gold tones meld together. In the sunshine, the holo is gorgeous. It’s a neutral shade that works with both warm and cool skin tones.
From a distance, the polish reads a silvery white, and it reminds me of my Aunt Flo who died a few years ago. Since the 1960s, she only wore white “frosted” polish.
It goes on smoothly and evenly with full coverage in two coats. It dries very quickly.
Zoya Alicia has been wearing well on my nails. I’m on day 5 with no chipping or tip wear, and for me, that is almost unheard of.

So so pretty. That polish would be fun to put little dots on top of a colored polish..Ex: Red with sparkle little dots for Valentines Day. ❤️💐
DiEtta, thank you for the suggestion! Dotting is about the only nail art that I can do. Now, I just have to find my dotting tool. Or else I’ll just use a toothpick. I think Alicia would look great on a pink polish. I will try it!!
Such a pretty color. Zoya doesn’t wear well on me or I’d buy it more often.

Which polishes last well on you, Marcia? For me, it varies even shade by shade or by type: cream vs. jelly vs. metallic vs. glitter. So some Zoya polishes last several days while other Zoyas fewer days. Morgan Taylor tends to last the longest on me, and I have several bottles, but somehow Zoya always wins out.
Most polishes last well on me. But Zoya is hit or miss and so is Chanel. I’ve given away all my Chanel polishes since they tend to wear away on me. Zoya’s colors are great but I need a polish to last a week and they don’t. Creams and jellys last the least amount of time.

Can you believe I have never tried Chanel polish? I guess I’m glad I haven’t! I know that you try a lot of indie brands, and I was wondering if anything stood out as wearing better, but I guess they all must do pretty well since it was Zoya & Chanel that didn’t measure up lasting-wise
Mainstream – Sally Hansen lasts and lasts. And if you look there are some gorgeous colors in between the ordinary. There are so many indie brands that work well like Great Lakes, KBShimmer, Toxic/
I haven’t used any Sally Hansen in several years. I should give them a go again. Same with KBShimmer
