Several months ago, another ad on Facebook caught my eye. (What else is new, you say!) The cutest cherry stud earrings made from red and green crystals. So adorable. I have a thing for cherries.
They were from a brand I was unfamiliar with: Ann Voyage. I checked out the website, and they’re a Canadian company that sells inexpensive fashion jewelry. Their tagline is “Travel-inspired jewelry”, though other than the names that are place names, I don’t see the connection. The crystal cherry studs called “Hirosaki earrings” were priced at $29. I thought about them, but I didn’t think I would wear them often enough to make the purchase worthwhile. But I still love them.
In the run up to Halloween, I saw lots of photos here and there of women wearing moon and star jewelry. They were very enticing. And one day, another ad from Ann Voyage popped up on my screen advertising Lahaina Earrings, sparkly moon and star dangling earrings for $10 delivered. At that price, I was sold. And at the time, they seemed like they’d be fun to wear on Halloween.
They arrived a couple of weeks later from China after Halloween. I opened the box, and the earrings were in a small plastic bag surrounded by bubble wrap. They were in good condition. I forgot that they were faux gold rather than silver. I mostly wear silver, white gold and rose gold these days. But that’s OK.
The earrings are surprisingly well-made. At that price, I thought they would be cheap and cheesy like the inexpensive jewelry in the stores in lower Manhattan that sell fashion jewelry and accessories. But I saw on the website that the Lahaina Earrings were originally $69, marked down to $29 even though I got them for 10 bucks.
Each of the Lahaina earrings comes in two parts: the sparkly star and the sparkly moon, each dangling on a gold chain. The moon’s chain is about an inch and a half longer than the star’s chain. And the moon itself is a bit longer than the star. The stud holding the chain and star goes in the front of the earlobe, and the moon dangles from the earring back.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a very long neck, and the moon is a little too long for me. I may see how much the local jeweler would charge to shorten the chain.
In the meantime, I’ve taken to wearing just the sparkly star with an earring back from my stash of extra backs. Perfect.
The sparkly star and moon earrings will be fun for the holidays. I used to go to a concert every year in NYC on the Winter Solstice – these earrings would have been especially great for that occasion!
The materials used to fabricate the earrings are Zinc Alloy, Tibetan silver, Antique Gold Plated and Crystal.
If you’re looking for some inexpensive stocking stuffers or small gifts for fashion jewelry lovers, take a look at the Ann Voyage website. There’s some fun stuff at affordable prices. And everything gets free shipping. Plus now, there’s a buy 2 get 1 free promotion going on.
Those are really pretty! Very clever of you to figure out how to wear just the stars.
Thank you, Rachel! Hope your sinus infection gets resolved soon xoxo
So cute. I’m always attracted to stars and moons. Only hearts will beat them out.

I agree, Marcia, hearts are at the top, but stars and moons and Saturn aren’t too far behind 😉
Cute!!
Thanks, Kim!
Really cute and great for the holidays. Yes, that would be too long for me also but I can adjust it. I have pliers for jewelry as I used to sell handmade jewelries before.
I have some jewelry tools as well, but I’m not as skilled at jewelry making as you so I’m not sure I want to risk it.
Those are the most charming earrings. I love the way that they look on you, Allison!
Thank you, Helen! They’re fun!
