Stila Sunset Serenade Convertible Color Lip & Cheek Palette

Stila is a brand that doesn’t get enough love. I think they make fabulous makeup. Their Convertible Color Blush is among my very favorite blushes. It’s a cream, so of course I am drawn to it. But unlike some cream blushes that fade fairly quickly (I’m looking at you IT Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi), Stila Convertible Color lasts and lasts till I take it off.

I’ve been on a no buy/low buy because I do not need anything. But during the Presidents’ Weekend, I succumbed to Stila’s sale when I saw an ad on Facebook for two different Convertible Color Lip & Cheek palettes.

I chose Sunset Serenade because it has a variety of 5 peachy, warm tones that I knew would suit me and would be terrific for summer. The other palette is cool toned Sunrise Splendor that has a hot pink and a brighter red shade among its offerings.

The palette arrived on Friday, and it was love at first sight. It came in a golden outer box, and inside was a slim, golden metallic box (I think that top of the box is metal and the bottom is plastic, but I could be wrong.) Inside along with the 5 round pans of product, there’s a long very usable mirror. It’s a beautiful looking palette, and at almost 2″ x 6″ it fits nicely in my hand. I think it could be considered portable because it’s lightweight, and it would fit in some makeup bags.

I’m using this palette only as a blush palette coz I have plenty of lipsticks. So far, I have worn the first three of the shades. They are super easy to blend with a finger or with a brush or sponge. They are translucent on the skin but plenty pigmented.  They last until I remove them before bed. I’m impressed but since I already down a Convertible Color Blush single, I knew I loved the formula.

Here are the shades and swatches:

  • Petunia (coral pink)
  • Peach Blossom (coral peach)
  • Gerbera (peach cream)
  • Camellia (peach caramel)
  • Twilight Rose (warm marsala) – a new shade.

Camellia, the peach caramel, will make a really good contour for me.

I just went to the Stila website, and the two palettes are still priced at $25 marked down from $39. I don’t know if they are discontinuing them or if there’s still a markdown for the holiday weekend, but at $25, $5 for each shade, I think the palette is well worth it. Have you tried Stila Convertible Color Lip & Blush Palette or any of the singles?

  1. I have the single in Poppy, and it makes me feel like Snow White. Haven’t worn it lately though, so I should remedy that!
I like the colours in this but I think I’ve almost entirely sworn off palettes of every variety. (Was tempted by Hourglass Ambient blush palette but didn’t go through with it) I can’t remember the last time I opened one, save for the one I made myself by depotting just about every other palette I owned. And even that has been a loooong time, haha. Singles and small compacts can come and go from the vanity top with ease but a whole palette is doomed to stay in the drawer. There’s just no room.

    1. Poppy sounds lovely! Who doesn’t want to look like Snow White?

But I know what you mean, Rach. I am that way with all my shadow palettes. It’s just so much trouble to go and dig out the one I’d like to use from my two storage areas, so mostly I use little cream shadow singles or little quads. I also have too much stuff!

Nevertheless, this small slim blush palette doesn’t take up much room at all. I will put it in a very full drawer in my bathroom vanity where it will fit nicely on top, or I may just leave it out on top of a little two drawer storage unit on top of my bathroom vanity.

Twilight Rose, the deep plum or raisin shade, will replace a natural/organic cream blush single that I got last year from an indie brand that was stiff & grainy to begin with and now is very dry but I kept around because I loved the color – now I can throw it out!

  2. I am tempted to get this palette too and I had Petunia in the past and it was the only blusher that I ever hit pan on! I’m still on my spending ban so I’m trying hard to be a good girl. LOL!

    1. I think I have Petunia in a single too, but for the life of me, I can’t find it. I remembered how flattering and long wearing it was, so I had to go for this palette. I was doing very well at not buying anything since before Christmas, but I fell off the wagon with this purchase and then I got a new foundation with an Ulta 20% off coupon on Friday. I’m back on the wagon now?? You have inspired me 😉

  3. I have Petunia, and she’s so pretty! I love the price point on this palette and the selection of colors. Also that you get a new shade, too!!!! And I’m not surprised that you bought the peachy tones! They will look fab on you!

    1. Thank you, Judy. I am loving this palette. I may have Petunia as a single too somewhere in my stash!

  4. I have a few singles of Stila’s blushes Gerbera among them. I love them as blush, not so much as a lipstick.

    1. I agree, Cindy. Who wants to be bothered using a lip brush to apply and then carrying around the palette to reapply to lips. They make great blushes

  5. The layout reminds me of Becca’s Ombre Rouge palette. Camellia and Twilight Rose are such pretty, universal shades.

    1. I didn’t know that Becca made creams till Stephanie mentioned it in a post about highlighters last week. Gotta check ’em out!

  6. That palette is beautiful and I’m pretty sure that I’d wear every single shade that is included!

  7. This palette is gorgeous! I love their Convertible Lip & Cheek colors. I don’t know which palette I would pick, but I love your choice.
