StriVectin Multi-Action Restorative Cream: A Skincare Multi-tasker That Does It All

StriVectin seems to be to be one of the busiest skincare companies ever. They are always in the lab researching new ingredients and new ways to help skin look and stay younger longer.

They recently launched another breakthrough anti-aging cream – StriVectin Multi-Action Restorative Cream – that targets all major visible signs of aging. Wow.

They combined their patented NIA-114 technology with new Pro-12 Youth Optimizing Complex to work together to accelerate the skin’s natural renewal process to make skin “heal itself” and act more like young skin. They must have had me in mind when they went into the lab to develop this one  😆

This rich yet lightweight, fragrance-free cream takes on a myriad of skin issues and provides some amazing results:

  • fine lines and wrinkles are less visible
  • skin is firmer
  • skin is softer, smoother and more supple
  • radiance returns
  • skin feels plumper and renewed
  • pores are smaller and less noticeable
  • skin tone appears more even
  • skin feels lifted.

I’ve been using StriVectin Multi-Action Restorative Cream every night for more than a month. My mature skin feels firmer, and I think it looks more lifted especially along the jawline that I’m most concerned about. I also think it looks plumper and smoother. To be honest, I’m supposed to be testing another night cream now, but I just don’t want to stop using this cream! I’ve read that the best results can be seen after 12 weeks of use, and I definitely want to continue along that path.

To me, Multi-Action Restorative Cream has a unique feel to it when it’s on my skin. It’s thick (e.g. I can turn the jar upside down, and the cream isn’t going anywhere), but when I apply it, it feels light and it feels firming right away on my skin. Although it is moisturizing, it feels different on my super dry skin than looser, wetter moisturizers. On a day when I’ve been outside in the winter cold, dry air of New England and my skin feels chapped and drier than usual, I sometimes use a hydrating masque on top of it, but for more “normal” people that isn’t necessary.

StriVectin’s Multi-Action Restorative Cream and their fabulous TL Advanced Neck Cream are my Dynamic Duo this winter. Definitely worth checking out! Multi-Action Restorative Cream comes in a jar containing 50 ml/1.7 oz and is priced at $95. Available on the StriVectin website where Ebates is offering 7.5% cash back, at Ulta Beauty, Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Lord & Taylor, Skin1.com, Dillard’s, Nordstrom, and other fine retailers.

Ingredients: Aqua (Water, Eau), Glyceryl Stearate, Propanediol, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Glycerin, Undecane, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Tridecane, Caprylic/Capryl Triglyceride, Cetyl Alcohol, PEG-100 Stearate, Dimethicone, Glycol Distearate, Myristyl Nicotinate, Tocopherol, Allantoin, Panthenol, Pentylene Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Secale Cereale (Rye) Seed Extract, Tetradecyl Aminobutyroylvalylaminobutyric Urea Trifiuoroacetate, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Caprylyl Glycol, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-2, Magnesium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol.

NORAH recently posted…Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint & Glossier Balm Dot ComMy Profile

    1. Norah, this is a terrific antiaging cream. And I think for most women, it would be very rich and emollient. Most nights, it’s fine for my desert-dry skin (and I apply it over an HA serum), but if my skin is extra dry, I do like putting a sleeping mask on top of it. It dries clean rather than a dewy feeling so I think that’s why I sometimes go for the sleeping mask on top. I may just be weird.

  14. I love StriVectin skin care. They make my favorite SPF day cream ever, and I love this cream for night time use. It looks so rich and thick, but it doesn’t aggravate my oily skin! It’s pretty amazing stuff. NIA-114 is a great form of Niacinamide that my skin just loves.

MarciaF recently posted…Nine Zero February 2016 polish of the monthMy Profile

    1. Marcia, I just went back and checked again. Neither the Multi-Action Cream nor the Neck Cream have much of a scent. I think they both have faint neutral masking scents so you don’t smell the chemicals but so faint that it’s almost imperceptible. I think you would like them.

  17. The thick texture sounds so nice, especially since it feels lightweight on the skin. This brand always releases fab products!

  29. I like this cream, not nuts about the jar. This stuff could easily go into a squeezie tube. Anywhoo… It’s good stuff. I consider it more a treatment than a stand alone moisturizer and pair it with my beloved Origins oil infused serum.
Erika recently posted…For Firmer and Fresher Peepers Try Oz Naturals Ultra Ageless Eye CreamMy Profile

    1. That makes sense. For me, it’s somewhere between an anti aging moisturizer and a treatment. I always apply it on top of at least one, if not two, serums including one that has HA, but even so when my skin is extra dry, I put either Paula’s Choice sleeping mask or L’Oreal Volume Filler Night Mask on top. My night routine has gotten so complicated lately. I clearly have too many skincare products 😉

  30. I loooved this product! For my acne prone skin, this was amazing. It didn’t make me break out and it really helped with my skin tone. Great product

A few women with different skintypes & different skin issues from me asked if I thought it would suit them, and I did say that I remember reading reviews from women with oilier skin and skin that had occasional breakouts also had good luck with it. I’m amazed at just how good this product is!

  32. I usually don’t like creams that come in a jar (I feel like I’m just not getting my money’s worth, you know?) but I think I’d really like the texture of this one! Definitely a winter night cream for me. I really liked their Retinol Pore Refiner a few months back. It seems like StriVectin makes good products!
Sammi the Beauty Buff recently posted…Birchbox: February 2016 ReviewMy Profile

    1. Why not getting your money’s worth since you came more easily get out every last drop? This cream is fabulous, but truth be told, I’d say it’s more for your mom than for your young skin. StriVectin really does make great skincare. They spent a lot on R&D. I noticed that a couple of StriVectin’s product are sold at Costco, yes!

      1. I know, I guess I should enjoy my youth while I can lol. I’ve read that some good ingredients, when exposed to light and air, break down faster. I don’t know exactly which ingredients do that or how long it takes, just that some antioxidants become less effective over time in jars. 🙁 (StriVectin could have just not used ingredients that are affected that way, I have no idea, I just usually prefer tubes and pump bottles)
Sammi the Beauty Buff recently posted…Birchbox: February 2016 ReviewMy Profile

        1. When I first started blogging, I saw other blogging complaining about that, and I checked into it as you did the complaints about mineral oil. I found that beauty product chemists have found that it isn’t true unless you leave the cap off forever. And even then, it doesn’t affect the efficacy, it just changes the color of the cream a bit. I use a spoon/paddle when I scoop out cream and the top is off for a couple of seconds, so I’m not worried about it. I’m also not very worried about parabens. In fact, I’m more worried about products without preservatives that I often have a habit of keeping too long. Companies like P&G, L’Oreal. Estee Lauder, StriVectin, Neutrogena spend millions and millions of dollars on product development and R&D so I do believe that they wouldn’t package stuff so that it would go off and lose its effectiveness quickly because it would come back to bite them. Just my two cents 😉

          1. Wow, seriously? I guess I should have looked more deeply into that, too. It does seem kind of odd that a TON of companies package in jars. 🙂 I probably should get myself a little spatula, though. Thanks for responding (again)!
Sammi the Beauty Buff recently posted…My Lipstick Collection: The NudesMy Profile

          2. No problem. I know a lot of women prefer tubes and pumps, but I’ll go with any of them. The little gold spoon that clips on to the Tatcha Brightening Serum jar is so handy for all my jars, but I do have some plastic spatulas that I got at Sally’s, I think.

  33. StriVectin is a great brand. I feel like everything I’ve tried from them has been excellent quality.

  34. I really like this cream too! I only use it it night, but my makeup looks better on during the day. 🙂

    1. I only use it at night too because it doesn’t have SPF. I suppose I should try it with a separate SPF just to see if it works even harder for me, but I sort of want to make it last since at $95 not sure if I can run out and buy another jar!

  35. With my super dry skin, it’s so hard to find that perfect moisturiser, isn’t it? I need something really hydrating and even a little heavy for my skin to feel comfortable x

    1. This is really an anti-aging cream, Dorota, and it’s packed with skincare goodies. It is a heavy cream but it feels lightweight on the skin. For someone your age (young) even with dry skin, this would be plenty moisturizing.
