Don’t you love skincare products that make an immediate difference in the look and feel of your skin? Well, I sure do.
About a month ago, StriVectin sent me their Overnight Resurfacing Concentrate to try out.
It comes in an opaque white glass bottle with a dropper, and the concentrate itself is white. It looks like milk.
At night after cleansing and toning, I apply a couple of drops of the white emulsion to my face. It absorbs and dries almost instantly. It has no noticeable scent. Afterwards, I sometimes apply another serum or go right to my nightly moisturizer.
Pretty much right from the first use, my skin felt smoother. It felt hydrated. After a very few uses, my pores looked tighter. StriVectin describes this as “I woke up like this” serum. They’re encouraging no-makeup selfies 😉
What is this stuff, and how does it work? The main goal of Overnight Resurfacing Concentrate is to visibly change the appearance and feel of skin. The serum exfoliates with enzymes to refine skin’s texture and imperfections. Plus it contains encapsulated moisturize ingredients to hydrate skin all night long and leave skin feeling “cushiony” in the morning. I can use all the moisture I can get. And like so many of the StriVectin skincare products, it has their patented ingredient NIA-114 that strengthens the skin’s moisture barrier, helps prevent damage from free radicals and helps boost the effect of other skincare products. It’s quite an amazing ingredient.
StriVectin Overnight Resurfacing Concentrate is an investment at $72 for 1 fl. oz./30 ml. It’s a pretty brand new product, Monica. I think it’s been out for a couple of months. I really like it, and because it has HA in it, it replaces the even more expensive SK-II Treatment Essence with HA that I was using plus I love that it’s basically an exfoliator, removing dead cells from the skin’s surface so if I don’t get to doing a mask, I’m OK.

This one made an immediate difference for me, Laura. I definitely am a fan. The price tag did give me sticker shock so I hope the bottle I have will last a long time. With their neck cream, another product I can’t live without, I scour the sales and I buy it when I can get 20% off and so far, I’ve been able to find it. Hopefully, it’ll be the same with this one

It’s a really good addition to my nighttime routine. I can always use more HA and gentle exfoliation as well as a stronger moisture barrier!
I have this as well, and have not tried it, since I’m so limited in what I can use while nursing. I’m sure it’s great though, I can’t wait to dig into in about 9 months haha

I really want to use more Strivectin skincare but with the amount I have now I feel guilty buying more. My one experience was great so this is always in the back of my mind.

I’ve been on a STriVectin kick lately and when I got this I thought I wouldn’t like it. I did have a little break out and some peeling but overall, I’m really enjoying this and have been loving StriVection products a lot lately.

Gee, that’s too bad you had that initial sensitivity. I thought I had sensitive skin, but I guess I really don’t or it has toughened up because now I seldom have reactions to skincare products. But I’m glad that the issues went away and you can use it now. I love this product. I agree – StriVectin has been knocking it out of the park lately!
Would this overnight resurfacing product be used in place of a retinol product with a retinol product or alternated with a retinol product? I sometimes find it difficult to know which products can be used together.
Claudia, that’s an excellent question. The instructions say that it can be applied first after cleansing/toning and then followed up with serum and/or moisturizer. It doesn’t specify what type of serum or moisturizer. I use it most nights along with Vitamin C serum and Vitamin C concentrate and then moisturizer. I believe I may even have used it followed by a retinol serum. (But I do not have sensitive skin, I’ve found out!) I just sent StriVectin an email asking them your question, and we’ll see if they answer it! Hopefully they will. Also, here is their Customer Care phone number: 800.430.0227 I wouldn’t hesitate to call and ask them! I’ll let you know what I hear back.
Hi Claudia, here’s the reply I got from StriVectin. I think you can certainly substitute whichever retinol brand you’re using! “The Overnight Resurfacing Concentrate can be used with any of our products. You would apply all over clean face in the PM. Then follow with a serum, for example if you are using both the Overnight Resurfacing Concentrate and the Advanced Retinol Concentrated Serum. Apply the Overnight Resurfacing concentrate, once absorbed follow with the Advanced Retinol Concentrated Serum. Once that is fully absorbed follow with a moisturizer. For best results, use nightly.” Pretty quick turnaround by StriVectin help desk!

I found it to be very gentle and hydrating. It’ll be nice for colder weather too. Hope you like it as much as I do
