Tatcha Dewy Cleanse & Hydrate Bundle

Today, I went “shopping” with my friend, M, who needed to pick up something she bought at an antique store. Wow, I had never seen an antique store with so much stuff that was owned by one person. Everything was perfectly categorized throughout the store by topic, e.g. Lladro, Hummel, blue glass items, Asian items, Egyptian items, Irish items, etc. etc. I wasn’t really looking for anything, but I bought a handmade and painted mermaid for a friend whose birthday is coming up who loves beachy decor.

From there, we went to a local outdoor mall and had lunch. We stopped in at Sephora because M. needed to get a new bottle of Armani Silk Foundation. I was disappointed that Armani doesn’t make the foundation in the shade Fair Pink that I think would suit me. They had Very Fair Pink that was just a tad too pale. We met a nice SA who got us several samples of products we wanted to try including some darker shades of Armani that she thought I should try at home. Why not?

Just when I thought I was going to get out of Sephora without buying anything, I discovered that Tatcha has a few different kits with travel size products that are a cost-affordable way to try out Tatcha products that you hadn’t tried.

Dewy Cleanse & Hydrate Bundle

This bundle comes in a classic Tatcha orchid colored cardboard tube, and it contains trial sizes of:

  • The Rice Wash (it was a new-to-me product)
  • The Dewy Skin Cream (my favorite of their moisturizers)

The Rice Wash

Although I have tried The Rice Wash that comes in little grains that you add water to, I hadn’t tried their cream cleanser, also called The Rice Wash that comes in a plastic tube. I love cream cleansers, so it’s no surprise that I like this one too.

The Rice Wash is a pH-neutral white cream that has tiny rice grains in it that dissolve when water is added. It lathers into a rich foam. The cleanser purifies as it moisturizes. Perfect for my dry skin.

Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Propanediol, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Glycerin, Acrylates Copolymer, Sodium Caproyl Methyltaurate, Coco-Betaine, Parfum/Fragrance, Saccharomyces/Camellia Sinensis Leaf/Cladosiphon Okamuranus/Rice Ferment Filtrate*, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Powder, Chondrus Crispus Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Betaphycus Gelatinum Extract, Lauryl Glucoside, Potassium Hydroxide, Polyquaternium-39, Disodium Edta, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Carbonate, Alcohol,*Hadasei-3.

The Dewy Skin Cream

For years, I’ve been using rich, smooth cream that plumps and hydrates dry skin like mine and leaves it with a dewy glow. Getting a small sample size will be perfect for travel.

Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Saccharomyces/Rice Ferment Filtrate, Glycerin, Propanediol, Dimethicone, Squalane, Diisostearyl Malate, Behenyl Alcohol, Myristyl Myristate, Dipentaerythrityl Hexahydroxystearate, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Inositol, Sorbitan Tristearate, Beheneth-20, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Cladosiphon Okamuranus Extract, Chondrus Crispus Extract, Betaphycus Gelatinum Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Origanum Majorana Leaf Extract, Thymus Serpyllum Extract, Malva Sylvestris (Mallow) Flower Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Gold, Sericin, Phytosteryl Macadamiate, Tocopherol, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Sorbitan Isostearate, Polysorbate 60, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Sodium Benzoate, Gluconolactone, Ethylhexylglycerin, Parfum/Fragrance, Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Citral, Limonene, Linalool, Mica, Tin Oxide, Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Violet 2 (Ci 60725).

Retail Info

As a reminder, Tatcha is a clean beauty brand. Both products are lightly fragranced.

Although Tatcha sells a number of gift sets on their website, they tend to be Starter Sets for dry skin or normal/oil skin as well as Pre-Wedding Prep sets. In addition to the Moisturizer Trial Set, they also sell duos or trios of full size products at a slight savings.

On the other hand, Sephora sells a variety of travel size sets. At $27, the Dewy Cleanse & Hydrate Set is the least expensive set with only two products. There are also mini sets of Tatcha favorites, body care products etc.

  1. Hi, Allison – Travel-size sets are always good with me since I have contact dermatitis. I like to throw a lot of things into my tote bag “in case” I need them when I’m not home. Then I’m always trying to take things out of the bag because it constantly gets too heavy. Lol! Thanks for sharing good stuff – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

    1. Oh, with contact dermatitis, it must be difficult to find what works with your skin. I’m sorry, Angie. But you’re right, travel size/minis are the way to go especially if you don’t know how it will work out

  2. Marcia says:

I love the color of Tatcha’s packaging but I’m sadly not comfortable with the fragrance. I know I’m missing out on a great brand.

    1. I thought about you when I bought it, Marcia. The Dewy Skin Cream has a soft but noticeable fragrance. The Rice Wash has even less of a scent, but it’s not worth taking a chance if you’re sensitive to fragrances like you are.

  3. Gabrielle says:

Tatcha makes excellent products. I’m not surprised you gave thumbs up to these.

    1. Tatcha is one of my favorite skincare brands. It’s so beautiful as well as effective xo

  4. This is something I would buy. I love that cream but haven’t tried any of their cleansers!Travel size is the way to go when you can try it out that size first

    1. Tatcha’s cleansers tend to be grains that you mix with water. The Rice Wash is so much more convenient!
