Everyone in the world has tried The Body Shop Body Butter except me! I’ve been meaning to, but I have so many body lotion and body butter favorites that I just never got around to it. Till recently.
A few weeks ago, I wrote about how I’ve fallen in love with cherry blossom scent. It was Rituals Zensation Foaming Shower Gel in Cherry Blossom scent and InStyle ActivESSENCE Fragrance Mist Exotic Cherry Blossom that got me.
I love the scent! So delicate, so perfect for this time of year. But in order to make the scent last longer, I thought I should switch to a cherry blossom scented body lotion or body butter to layer the scent: shower gel, body butter, fragrance mist.
I checked Bath and Body Works, and they discontinued their Cherry Blossom scent and replaced it with Japanese Cherry Blossom. I smelled a tester but it didn’t smell like the cherry blossom scent of the products I own. Too bad.
Next, I thought maybe The Body Shop has a cherry blossom scent. I looked online. At the time, TBS was having a 30% off sale. Good start. They too have a Japanese Cherry Blossom scented body butter.
I bought it online without smelling it in person. I received it a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, the scent isn’t the same as the two cherry blossom products that I love.
But the body butter itself is fantastic. It is so thick and hydrating. Doesn’t it look great in the photo?
Importantly, the hydration is long lasting. I too have become a fan of TBS body butter or as it’s called on the label, body cream.
But the Japanese Cherry Blossom scent is a bit of a disappointment to me. It’s a light floral innocuous scent, but it doesn’t do anything to boost the cherry blossom scents of the two products I love. Oh well.
BTW, TBS is having a sale that started at the end of last week. Some, but not all, body butters are marked down to $10 from regular price $24. Japanese Cherry Blossom body cream is one of about 10 scents that are marked down. Take a look if you’re looking for a great body butter for dry skin. You might like the light floral Japanese Cherry Blossom scent, and there are quite a few others on sale to choose from. $10 is a great price, so act fast!

I don’t think I’ve smelled Cherry Blossom scent before and now I wonder how it is. I too love TBS body butter, they are so thick and hydrating and super handy during Autumn and Winter.

My first time trying the TBS body butter and I love it. I just wish the Japanese Cherry Blossom scent was stronger and more like my other products, boo hoo.
If you like the Cherry Blossom scent, the best one I know is made by L’Occitane. My favorite in the line is the shower gel, but the perfume and roller ball are very nice too.

I was thinking about L’Occitane and wondering if they had a cherry blossom scent lotion, but I haven’t had a chance to go into one of their stores. Actually, I just got back from NYC and we must have passed 20 L’Occi stores but Jeff would have had a meltdown on the street if I told him I wanted to go in and look for something. Since I love the Rituals Foaming Shower Gel and I have an almost full can, I’ll stick with that, but if they have shower gel as well as fragrance, hopefully they’ll have a lotion or body butter too. The formula is absolutely great, but their version of cherry blossom isn’t a good match or fit for my Rituals Shower Foam or InStyle Fragrance Mist 🙁
I don’t think I have ever actually tried anything with Cherry Blossom scent. Now I am curious!

The Body Shop makes the best scents!! I can’t remember what this one smells like, I’ll have to try it soon!

It has a pleasant, generic light floral scent that unfortunately doesn’t “match” my cherry blossom scent Rituals Shower Gel or my InStyle Fragrance Mist but it’s a terrific body butter. And it comes in a lot of other scents. I’ll try a different scent next time.
I’m allergic to cherry blossoms but I love The Body Shop!

I’d say the TBS body butter is one of the all-time best I’ve tried. But I’ll have to keep looking for a better cherry blossom lotion to help extend the scent of my other products. Who knew it would be so hard to find?

Yes, altho I hoped it would mesh with and extend the delicate cherry blossom scent of my other products, the body butter itself is just sooooo good. Happy I tried it

Calgon used to do a cherry blossom range. I haven’t worn it in years, but it was a nice sweeter take on cherry blossom.

I think you’ll love the Rituals Foaming Shower Gel, and it’s cherry blossom scent is so lovely. I like the TBS butter too, I just wish the scent was the same as the Rituals shower gel!
I’m a huge fan of TBS body butters, but haven’t tried this one. I will need to try it out and see how I like it – I may enjoy the scent. I’ll add a mini one to my order the next time to see.

I believe that this one and certain others are part of the big TBS sale, and the full size is $10. It’s a pleasant light floral, their Japanese Cherry Blossom, not at all disagreeable but it just doesn’t help extend the cherry blossom scent of my shower gel and fragrance mist. Otherwise, it’s nice!

It’s so hydrating and the moisture really lasts. I’d like to try some of the other scents though this one is nice and light – though not exactly what I was looking for to match my other cherry blossom products.
