The Body Shop really has been hitting the ball out of the park lately with its new skincare products. I am so impressed with the 5 masks that I have, and the body butters are everyone’s favorites!

Drops of Youth Liquid Peel

The Liquid Peel is fabulous. Period. The end.

A couple of months ago, Laura, a woman I have met online through my blog, asked me to put together a dupes post, and I’ve been thinking about it and trying to put together a list. Not so easy, truth be told. However, The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel is a performance dupe for Japanese brand Skin Inc’s Pure Revival Peel. Both slough off dead skin cells and environmental pollutants and leave skin looking smooth and radiant.

Both peels are liqui-gels that I apply to my freshly cleaned face. When I massage my skin in circles, the mask turns whitish and balls up. Next, I wash the remains off with warm water, and my skin is unbelievably soft and smooth. The two peels work exactly the same way and give me exactly the same result. But the prices are very different: Skin Inc Pure Revival Peel $55 (2 fl.oz.) vs. The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel $25 (4.9 fl.oz.). When I finish them up, I know which one I’ll be repurchasing!

Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Alcohol Denat., Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Carbomer, PPG-26-Buteth-26, Palmitamidopropyltrimonium Chloride, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Quaternium-80, Parfum/Fragrance, Behentrimonium Chloride, Linalool, Citronellol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Isopropyl Alcohol, Crithmum Maritimum Extract, Eryngium Maritimum Extract, Leontopodium Alpinum Callus Culture Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum.

Formulated with caffeine, oleic acid and black cumin seed oil, new Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Eye Cream/Gel was developed to help reduce signs of aging. It’s a golden but cloudy gel-cream that’s cooling and IMO is good at brightening the under eye area.

I think Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Eye Cream Gel would be a wonderful eye gel-cream for younger women. It’s cooling and brightening. I think it would be perfect for use everyday and also after a late night out, giving a more refreshed look.

Importantly, it contains some of my favorite moisturizing ingredients: niacinamide, camellia oil, and sodium hyaluronate. It also has dimethicone, an ingredient that is really good for me but that some women can’t use.

But overall, for me with my mature skin, the Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Eye Cream Gel is not quite anti-aging enough. I am always on the lookout for an eye cream or gel that I can use in three areas: under my eyes for brightness, to soften or minimize my crow’s feet and to help firm the skin above my eyelids. This product works best for me for under eye brightening. So I use it in that area, and I’m satisfied with the brightness and moisturizing I get. Price $32 for 0.68 fl.oz.

Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat., Niacinamide, Dimethicone, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Isononyl Isononanoate, Fagus Sylvatica Bud Extract, Caffeine, Phenoxyethanol, Silica Silylate, Dimethiconol, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum, Chlorphenesin, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Olea Europaea Fruit Oil/Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Camellia Oleifera Seed Oil, Salicylic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hydroxide, Nigella Sativa Seed Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-t-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Menthoxypropanediol, Disodium EDTA, Adenosine, t-Butyl Alcohol, Alteromonas Ferment Extract, Benzoic Acid, Sorbic Acid, Tin Oxide, Tocopherol, Citric Acid, CI 77891/Titanium Dioxide, CI 77491/Iron Oxides, CI 19140/Yellow 5.

So if you are on the lookout for a great peel, definitely consider Drops of Youth Liquid Peel. And if you’re a young or youngish one, I think you’d love the Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Eye Cream Gel. Have you tried either of these two skincare products from The Body Shop?

    1. You’re welcome, Laura. I’ve gotta keep a list of possible dupes and when I get enough, I’ll write the post. I came up with another pair just the other day but I was in the car and now I forgot what they were, lol. But the TBS Youth Liquid Peel is definitely a dupe for the Skin Inc, and it is such a deal. I got an email from TBS this morning mentioning a new 40% off sale, but again it was on selected products. I’m assuming you’re on their email list so eventually there’ll be a 40% off everything sale I’m sure! So sorry you’re still sick. There are bad viruses going around this winter. My bronchitis lasted for 4 weeks, and I still have some chest congestion. Hope you’ll be feeling more like yourself soon
