Thrive Causemetics Infinity Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner Pens

Actually, I had planned to post this review yesterday along with the Thrive Eye Primer review, but my review was so long already. So here’s Part 2!

Thrive Infinity Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner Pens

To be honest, I don’t wear liquid eyeliner very often. On my mature skin and eyes, black liquid eyeliner is just too harsh. I’ve been on the lookout for grey liquid eyeliner, but there aren’t any or at least, I haven’t found one. During the holidays, I wear sparkly silver or gold or teal eyeliner, but that’s about it. Mostly, I use pencils or gels.

Nevertheless, Thrive Causemetics was generous to send me two of their Thrive Infinity Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner Pens, so I certainly wanted to try them.

The Thrive Infinity Waterproof Liquid Eyeliners come in Lauren: Black Matte and Ella: Brown Matte. The black is a deep black, and the brown is a wonderful medium brown.

They are slim felt tip-type pens, though Thrive refers to them as “brushes”. Fortunately, they don’t bend like brushes do, and they have a pinpoint tip. That makes the pens easy to use. Just give the pen a shake before use, and glide it over your lash line (unless you have a milia on your lashline like I do, grrrr). If you want a slim line, you can draw one. If you want a thicker line, you can draw one. The liquid dries relatively quickly.

Being waterproof is a real benefit. There have been a few times, in years gone by, when I wore a non-waterproof eyeliner and ended up looking like a raccoon. Not a pretty sight. Thrive Infinity Waterproof Liner stays put.

Thrive Infinity Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner Pens have a number of benefits, summarized very nicely with this infomatic from Thrive:

Like just about all of the Thrive makeup products I’ve tried, the eyeliners contain skincare ingredients – biotin and sodium hyaluronate – to hydrate and condition lids and lashes. Nice!

My Experience with Thrive Infinity Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner Pens

Although the Black Thrive Eyeliner Pen was too dark on my older eyes, the Brown was wonderful!

Because it is a medium rather than dark brown or brown/black, it suited my mature eyes and skin quite well. I will continue to wear it in the future. Rather than starting in the inner corner of my eyes, I try to start it where my lashes start, so my eyes seem a bit more elongated/fawn-like rather than round orbs.

Again because of my mature skin, I can’t do a cat eye, especially with liquid eyeliner. It just doesn’t work for me. So I cannot comment about the ease of making a cat eye with this liquid eyeliner. In fact, Thrive’s website has several photos with visual instructions for a cat eye on a woman with crow’s feet (see photos below), so it can be done.

My assumption is that if you’re good at cat eyes, you’ll have no problems creating them with Thrive Infinity Liquid Eyeliner Pens.

Removing Thrive Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner was easy. I use Bioderma Micellar Water and a cotton pad, and it comes off in a heartbeat. No tugging, no pulling at all. The waterproof eyeliner dissolves with the micellar water.

Retail Info

So if you’re in the market for a new liquid eyeliner, give Thrive Causemetics Infinity Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner Pens some real consideration. If you prefer liquid liners, I think you’ll find these to be eye-friendly and easy to use. Like their other products, they’re cruelty-free and vegan and sulfate-free. Importantly, they’re dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested and recommended and safe for sensitive eyes (and I have sensitive eyes).

Thrive Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner Pens are sold only on the Thrive Causemetics website for $22 each. Check ’em out!

  1. I seldom use liquid eyeliners, and prefer eyeliner pencils, but this would be the perfect healthy brand to use for liquid eyeliners!

I love brown liquid liner and just bought a few but they aren’t waterproof. There are days I can’t wear liquid because my eyes are too watery but usually by night I can wear them. I’m glad to read such nice things about these. And happy they know to make brown since so many brands just sell black.

    1. This is a really nice brown, Marcia. I think it’s one to keep in mind for the future since it’s waterproof but still so easy to remove!
