Thrive Causemetics and BCA

While Breast Cancer Awareness Month is sometimes disparaged for “just being about awareness”, it is really more than that. So many of us are aware of breast cancer, yet we put off our mammograms. We all know people who have had breast cancer, but we don’t always contribute to organizations that provide breast cancer screening for free or at reduced costs. We don’t always contribute to scientific research that could continue to find drugs to cure or ameliorate the effects of breast cancer. To me, Breast Cancer Awareness month is important, especially since my father died from breast cancer more than two decades ago.

While BCA is just about over, I haven’t had a chance to write about it yet. And I want to flag one of Thrive Causemetics’ programs for this important month.

As a brand, Thrive always gives back. In fact, they have a number of ongoing programs, including:

Here is one of the programs that Thrive has participated in October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In fact, the program was introduced on The Today Show just a couple of weeks ago.

TOUCH, The Black Breast Cancer Alliance is a certified 501(c)(3 co-founded by Rickie Fairley). A breast cancer survivor herself, Ricki has become a leader in the movement to save the lives of Black women as they are 41% more likely to die from breast cancer than white women. TOUCH makes sure Black women are informed on all of their health care options and they advise them about participating in clinical trials. (Currently, Black women only make up about 3% of clinical trial participants). TOUCH works together with patients and providers as well as other breast cancer advocacy groups to find solutions to these disparities.

With Halloween today, October comes to an end, but you can always be sure that Thrive Causemetics participates in many ways to give back to the community and to women in particular throughout the year.

Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions Lash Serum

On Friday, I received Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions Lash Serum to try out. If you read NSDB from time to time, you may know that I am a believer in lash serum. In fact, I use select lash serums regularly and I have had good results. Over the past couple of years, my lashes have become longer.

As a result, I am not starting my Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions Lash Serum journey from scratch, but from an already lengthened place. It can take 2 months for a lash serum to show results, so this is just the beginning. I hope that maybe I will get some additional length and soft, conditioned lashes.

For me, one of the key issues with lash serum is whether my sensitive eyes can tolerate the formula. Years ago, I tried a natural and organic brand that for some reason burned like crazy, so I stopped using it. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to determine which ingredient was the culprit.

I am happy to report that Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions Lash Serum doesn’t burn my sensitive eyes at all!  Also in their small scale study of 32 respondents, Thrive found that none of the participants experienced any irritation. Nevertheless, it’s good to know when trying any lash serum that it can be returned in case it doesn’t work out. Thrive has a return and exchange program.

The key ingredients in Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions are:

  • Power 5-Peptide Blend
  • Biotin
  • Sodium Hyaluronate
  • Organic Pea Sprout Extract (this is a new one for me!).

In addition, Liquid Lash Extensions is:

  • Paraben-Free
  • Sulfate-Free
  • Formulated without Phthalates
  • Vegan
  • Cruelty-Free
  • Synthetic Fragrance-free.

It is dermatologist-, ophthalmologist-, and allergy-tested and formulated with sensitive skin in mind. My eyes really appreciates that!

Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions Lash Serum comes in a slim tube containing 0.10 fl. oz/3 ml. Application along the upper and lower lash lines is easy with the small brush. Thrive Causemetics are sold only on their website

From time to time, I also use Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara (reviewed here). It’s a terrific volumizing mascara!

Stay tuned for progress reports on my Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions Lash Serum journey!
