In the midst of the proliferation of the Coronavirus worldwide, it seems a little weird to be writing about cosmetics. This is a critical situation that we all must take very seriously.
This evening, I was thinking about whether I should suspend my blog for a while. I’ve been so distracted with all that’s going on. But I realized that many of us, including me, will be spending more time at home, more time away from crowds, more time alone. Even the NBA is suspending the rest of its season after they have discovered that at least one, if not more of the players, is infected. Thus, we’ll be looking for things to keep us occupied, engaged and entertained, while we spend more time trying to stay away from others. Maybe it makes more sense to keep blogging as a distraction and as a means of connection.
With the plunge in the Dow and other indicators, I know that I am pulling in my belt. I’ve been on a cosmetics low buy since the beginning of the year with the exception of replacing the few things that are staples for me. So now is the time to “shop my stash” and review products that I already own that I never got a chance to discuss. Makeup is about creativity, and even on days when I may not be going anywhere or just taking a walk in the woods, it may be a fun distraction to play with makeup, to give myself a facial. And if the market ever recovers, I can always shop online.

I think it is important to take precautions regarding the virus but panicking doesn’t help anyone. I’m all for reading about makeup and skincare to keep our spirits up. Thank you!
