Traveling with Nulastin Luxe Travel Kit

We just got back from our vacation in Maine. We were visiting my close friend from college and her husband in the Bar Harbor area, and on the way home, we spent a few days in Portland, the foodie capital of the Northeast. Needless to say, we had a wonderful time 😀

Although I almost never travel light as I know I should, I did learn my lesson when Jeff and I checked into our small “quaint” hotel in Portland. When I registered at the front desk, I was told our room was on the fourth floor and that there was no elevator. We had to walk up three, very steep, and very twisty flights with all of our luggage. Ugh.

Tucked into my luggage were three bags of cosmetics, one bag with makeup, another bag with personal care products, and the third kit held my skincare products and that’s what I want to tell you a bit about: Nulastin Luxe Travel Kit. I received this travel kit several months ago, but we haven’t been traveling since the late winter. Now, I had a chance to use it.

Nulastin and Their Luxe Travel Kit

Nulastin is a brand of hair growth and skincare products that I’ve been seeing often over the past year or so. Their point of difference is Elastaplex Technology, elastin replenishment. Elastin (the partner ingredient to collagen) plays a major role in healthy hair and skin.

“Elastin is one of the most vital proteins for preserving the integrity of your skin—and even more important for your hair. Elastin envelops every hair follicle, enhancing its strength and resilience.”

For skin, elastin restores elasticity and radiance. Great!

Sample sizes of some of Nulastin’s core products came in an attractive and sturdy grey travel case. What I especially love about the travel case is that it has two clear heavy plastic “windows” so I can easily find what I stuffed into the case!

The Nulastin Luxe Travel Kit was supposed to have 5 products in it, but somehow I managed to lose one of them. Where the heck it could be, I have no idea. The 4 I did receive included:

  • Skin: Rejuvenating Facial Moisturizer: this rich, white moisturizer is a perfect nighttime moisturizer. I love it, and I would buy it in a heartbeat. Perfect for winter and/or very dry skin. “Powered by Elastaplex® Technology and hyaluronic acid, this rejuvenating moisturizer visibly improves tone and texture, increases firmness, and helps you achieve a beautifully refreshed and youthful appearance.” It also contains antioxidants to protect skin from environmental stressors. Although a full-size pump bottle of Rejuvenating Facial Moisturizer is pricey at $89, it’s an excellent moisturizer.
  • Skin: Intensive Hydrating Serum: The clear, scent-free, thick liquid serum is perfect for giving dry skin like mine a rich drink of water with vegan hyaluronic acid. It reminded me a lot of my Hyaluron Skin Essence that’s only 1/3 empty, so I won’t buy the full size of this one, though it too is excellent. I will refill the little empty glass dropper with my HA essence for travel ‘coz it really came in handy! Nulastin Intensive Hydrating Serum’s full size is priced at $59.
  • Lips: Natural Lip Balm: Unfortunately, I couldn’t get the “seal” off of the tube while we were traveling, so I couldn’t try the Natural Lip Balm during our trip. While I think having some kind of seal to protect cosmetics is a necessity, it was ridiculous that I couldn’t use the product because the glue on the paper seal was unremovable. Boo. Tonight, Jeff and I both struggled with the seal and got some of it off and managed to force off the top of the tube. Success finally. And wouldn’t you know that when I tried the juicy balm, I discovered that it contains “mint” in the formula that my lips can’t tolerate. Boo again. Nevertheless, the Nulastin Lip Balm contains organic plant, nut and seed oils as well as natural beeswax. It’s just that organic peppermint oil that’s a killer for my lips.
  • Hair (their flagship product): Vibrant Scalp Treatment: Vibrant Scalp Treatment actually was handy for me to bring along on my weeklong trip. While I don’t mind skipping my KeraFactor or my Vegamour treatment products for a night or two, I don’t want to skip it for a week. The Vibrant Scalp Treatment reminded me of both of my current faves, so I was glad to get to try it. Two of the Nulastin full-size pump Vibrant Scalp Treatment bottles that contain elastin as their replenishment ingredient are sold at a discount for $195, while one bottle of Scalp Treatment is $129. One bottle of treatment that’s supposed to be used twice a day is supposed to last for 5 weeks.
  • the missing product is Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser that I definitely could have used!

My Quick Impressions

Nulastin Luxe Travel Kit products, info card and case

Though I was very happy to have received Nulastin Luxe Travel Kit so that I could try out their luxury, cruelty-free, fragrance-free, easily recyclable, parabens-free skin and hair products, they are definitely priced like luxury cosmetics. I will consider buying Rejuvenating Facial Moisturizer for the winter once I use up my current moisturizers especially if they have a holiday season sale, but the other three products that I tried are a bit too close to products that I am already using successfully for less money.
