A few weeks ago, I received a new concealer from one of my favorite skincare brands, Typology. You may remember that Typology is premium brand of face, body and haircare products that doesn’t overpromise, made with the fewest possible high quality natural and organic ingredients, that comes in simple, retro-apothecary style packaging, and is surprisingly affordable.
When I heard concealer, I was a little surprised because I don’t typically think of Typology selling makeup, at least not yet. But when I received the concealer, it all made sense. It is actually skincare but with color. So it’s a multi-tasker: skincare that also functions as makeup.
As a Typology Paris product, Tinted Concealer is crafted from 97% natural ingredients. Made with caffeine that enhances blood circulation and reduces blue circles, niacinamide that evens skintone and enhances blood microcirculation and cornflower hydrolate that decongests the eye area, it reduces the appearance of dark circles and puffiness in the long term while the tint hides dark circles upon application.
Typology Tinted Concealer is a medium weight cream in terms of coverage that is buildable if you need more coverage. It is packaged in an old school style silvery tube. A little concealer goes a long way, so I position my fingertip right at the tip of the tube and the concealer starts to come out as soon as I remove the cap. I usually pat it on with my finger. The concealer feels very light on the skin and isn’t cakey. And more good news is that it doesn’t sink into creases or fine lines. Because of its skincare ingredients, I save Typology Tinted Concealer for my undereye dark circles though it can be used to camouflage any imperfections you want to hide.
The concealer comes in 6 shades:
- Fair — fair skin, with freckles or not
- Light — light skin with pink, neutral or yellow undertones
- Medium — medium skin with warm or olive undertones
- Tan — tan skin types with bronze undertones
- Medium dark — light brown skin with warm undertones
- Dark brown — dark skin types with cool undertones
I had asked for Light, but they were out of Light at the time. So I was sent Fair, and to my surprise, it was an almost perfect match (the second photo show its almost blended so you can see the shade match).
But for those who are unsure of their shade, you can buy two shades and get the second shade at half price.
The silvery tube of Typology Tinted Concealer contains 15 ml/0.5 oz. and is priced at $27.90. Typology Paris Tinted Concealer is cruelty-free, vegan, fragrance-free, silicone-free, doesn’t use nano particles, and is made in France.
INGREDIENTS : Aqua (Water), Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Jojoba Esters, Centaurea Cyanus Flower Water, Tri(Polyglyceryl-3/Lauryl) Hydrogenated Trilinoleate, Silica, Caffeine, Niacinamide, Magnesium Sulfate, Cetyl Alcohol, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, Tocopherol.
May contain the following depending on the shade: Ci 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), Ci 77492 (Iron Oxides), Ci 77491 (Iron Oxides), Ci 77499 (Iron Oxides).
That is a really nice shade match for your skin tone, Allison! I also like their packaging aesthetic – these metallic tubes are so on trend right now!
