TYS Beauty Lip Butter and Cheek Treat

In one of my recent Ipsy/Boxycharm boxes, I received two makeup products from a new-to-me brand, TYS Beauty. TYS stands for Treat Yourself Beauty.

TYS Beauty was started by twin sisters, Hannah and Haylee Harrison. They started as and still are lash technicians and estheticians in Los Angeles. After helping women develop longer and fuller lashes, they expanded their mission by opening Treat Yourself Studios in the heart of LA. They were just 21 when they did that!

Recently, they decided to take on the beauty industry by launching a range of makeup products under the name, TYS Beauty. Their makeup products are cruelty-free, vegan, clean beauty, and free of parabens and sulfates.

I’ve gotten to try two of them via my Boxycharm box. On opening their recyclable outer boxes, both products have modern, clean packaging. Love the look!

TYS Beauty Lip Butter

TYS Beauty Lip Gloss is a shea butter and collagen infused lip gloss that soothes, hydrates and shines lips. It comes in three shades:

  • Honey: sheer mauve
  • Jelly: sheer pink
  • Toast: sheer rich brown.

Honey is a subtle, MLBB shade with a slight shimmer that enhances the look of my lips. For me, it’s a perfect everyday lipgloss. It looks very natural, just enhancing the color of my lips. Also, it is very hydrating and makes my lips look plumper (though it’s not a “plumping” gloss).

The gloss has a faint sweet scent that disappears when I’m wearing it. Worn on its own, Honey is not super long wearing. But I have been trying hard to drink a lot of water, so sipping on my water bottle does make it (and most of my other lipsticks and glosses) disappear after a while. However, it’s easy to reapply with its slant tip applicator. Plus, it can be worn either over or under lipstick.

I love the look of the lip gloss packaging. The elongated oval is easy to slip in a pocket, especially if you don’t feel like carrying a purse or bag. It comes with a slant tip applicator.

TYS Beauty Lip Butter is priced at $21, and it’s sold on the TYS Beauty website

TYS Beauty Cheek Treat

Cheek Treat is a liquid blush though it is more like a cream blush than a liquidy liquid. It’s applied with a large-ish doe-foot applicator. In fact, I try to get off as much product inside the tube as I can because the applicator holds a lot of blush!

Splash, the blush shade I was sent, is a deep mauve shade, and it literally lasts on my skin forever. Because it’s a little difficult for me to apply just a small amount (the website says to apply 1-2 dots per cheek), I find it necessary to blend it in with a blush brush (though the website suggests you can use your fingertips). If you like a deeper shade of blush, this is it! Because I tend to wear light or natural colored blush, I probably would have chosen Drip: pink or Juice: peach. Nevertheless, if I want to wear blush that wears like iron, I’m going with TYS Beauty Cheek Treat in the Splash shade! Yikes!

Here’s how Cheek Treat is described on the TYS Beauty website:

“A weightless and long-lasting treat for the cheek that builds pigment for a soft flush of color and dewy finish.

This clean, liquid formula adds a healthy splash of seamless color that evenly blends and is comfortable to wear. It’s infused with collagen properties to help improve firmness, smooth out fine lines and hydrate the skin. Use this good for you liquid blush that melts into the skin for an effortless, long-lasting splash of color.”

They are truly not kidding when they describe Cheek Treat as “long-lasting”. It truly is.

TYS Beauty Cheek Treat is priced at $23 and is sold on the TYS Beauty website.

Here’s a photo of me wearing the blush and the lipgloss. I am also wearing the blush on my lips with the lipgloss over it. This is a last minute photo taken on a day that was 90 degrees and after I worked in the garden and helped the painter move furniture. But I figured I didn’t want to wait to shower and put on a full face of makeup since tomorrow will be the same kind of heavy work day!

You look great in those colors! Your bone structure lets you carry off a strong cheek so well!

    1. Thank you, but I’m not so sure about the blush. I think it works better for me under the lipgloss, lol!

  2. MarciaF says:

The blush looks too dark for your cheeks but fine on your lips with the gloss over it. Do their lash products sound good?

    1. I think you’re right, Marcia. I will continue wearing the blush under the lipgloss. I have no idea about their mascara and serum, but since they are lash specialists, I have a feeling they’re at least pretty good 😉
