Last week, I went to the mall to pick up my birthday gifts from Ulta and Sephora. I like the fact that you get a choice among a few options these days instead of the one gift, take it or leave it!
I don’t know if Ulta still changes up the options with each quarter, or whether they have a new scheme. Same with Sephora, unsure if the gifts will change. Nevertheless, here’s what I chose.
Ulta Gift
I wish I could remember what the other options were at Ulta, but I forgot. I know it was an easy choice for me because I am already using the product in one of its full size iterations now. In fact, the creamy cleanser (reviewed here originally) is one of my staple cleansers. I chose the First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser, mini size 1 oz. that’s great for a quick trip because it’s the right size for a long weekend.
Sephora Gift
Sephora had three or four options. The other option that sort of interested me was a set of mini products from Moroccan Oil. Unfortunately, they were three hair products and a small tube of hand cream. I was hoping for body care products. Oh, well.
Instead, I chose a duo from Kosas Makeup for Skincare Freaks. The box contained mini sizes of:
- Wet Lip Oil Gloss: The tinted oil gloss is the best I’ve ever tried. I always thought lip oils were just OK, but this lip oil is nourishing, doesn’t wander, and the shade, Unbuttoned, a soft warm blush, is a very nice tinted MLBB shade. (There are 9 shades plus Glossy Clear.) The gloss is supposed to be a plumping gloss, but since my lips are pretty full already, I didn’t notice any additional plump. Luckily, there are no irritating plumping ingredients; instead it plumps with peptides.
- Air Brow Clear: An effective mini clear brow gel that lifts and sets. It goes right into my purse makeup bag!
All in all, I am satisfied with my free beauty birthday gifts this year!
I was away for my birthday so I didn’t get to Ulta for a birthday gift but I’d probably chose this too. With Sephora I took the 250 points and have already used them.
I hope I didn’t miss your birthday, Marcia! I didn’t remember that one can get points for the Sephora birthday gift. I probably would have done that. Unfortunately, the young woman who was helping me at the store didn’t mention that as an option. Is it an online only gift?
