As a collector of all things heart shaped, I love Valentine’s Day! Fortunately, Jeff helps me celebrate and we usually go out for a nice dinner. In fact, last year there was a blizzard, but Jeff and I got into his 4Runner with four wheel drive and headed out to a restaurant a few miles away. We were about the only people on the road, but we did it!
I haven’t planned my outfit and makeup for this year’s Valentine’s Day yet, but I do know what lingerie I’ll be wearing! A couple of months ago, while I was looking at Facebook, I saw an ad for True & Co., a lingerie company with gorgeous intimate apparel. The FB ad intrigued me enough to go to their website, and they have a Five Minute Fit Quiz that I took to help me find the True & Co. styles that would suit me best and which sizes I should order. Such a great idea to help you zero in on what will really fit! In addition to the useful information, taking the quiz gave me a 10% discount. Much to my surprise, a few days later I received an email asking me if I’d like to try out their lingerie for review. I was all over that!
I looked through their extensive online catalog, and I requested an unpadded bra and let True & Co. select for me based on my Five Minute Fit Quiz. A few days later, I received a box with my new lingerie, nicely packaged.
I received a beautiful black lace balconette style bra, Gramercy, with a soft, flesh tone lining that makes the black lace stand out. They sent along the black lace Union hipster panty that goes very well with the bra as a set.
My size often varies with the style, and the folks at True & Co suggested 36C for the Gramercy bra and medium for the panty, and both fit perfectly. The balconette style, a full cup with an uplifting seam and wide set straps, is perfect for wide or lower cut necklines and special occasions. I think it’s the most elegant of bra styles, perfect for Valentine’s Day.
I have purchased lace bras from other brands in the past, and the lace was so scratchy I haven’t been able to wear them. Not so True & Co. The lace is so soft, it is heaven to wear! I love the detailing too. The straps are attached at the back with double-strapping that’s so pretty. And I love the gold hardware, so luxe. The panty has a seam down that back that’s figure enhancing and flattering. I love this lingerie, and I know Jeff will too 😉
True & Co. included a catalog with my order, and I’m blown away by the variety in their offerings.
Everything from everyday lingerie to wear with T-shirts and jeans to special occasion lingerie and even what I’d describe as “fantasy” lingerie – intimate apparel’s answer to Detroit’s concept cars, if you will – made with unusual straps and cut-outs, modern-looking and just fabulous! They have strapless bras and a “shaping slip” with adjustable straps that would be a terrific solution for skin-baring gowns and cocktail dresses. I don’t usually wear lacy underwear for everyday situations, but when I get dressed up or for a special occasion I love it. That lingerie looks really nice! The kind that makes you feel sexy while wearing it, for sure. I’m like a grandma–I love t-shirt bras with a passion lol. The ones you showed don’t look uncomfortable, either, which I’m surprised about! A lot of the ones I see in Victoria’s Secret look a little…much haha. And I’m very tactile, so certain fabrics just feel really uncomfortable.

I feel that same way about fabrics so I was thrilled when I discovered how soft and well-made this lace bra is. I have about 4 other lace bras from a different brand that I bought because they looked so cute, but I can’t wear them because they’re too scratchy. True & Co. is so well-made that this bra puts my others to shame 😉
I’m obsessed with lingerie and can never get enough of it. The ones here are pretty but I have to check out their bigger sizes. When the good lord gave he just kept on giving.

That’s so interesting that you just saw True & Co on Buzzfeed! They’re definitely trying to get the word out especially with their Try-On Truck hitting the road and going cross country. I think their “regular” bras are wonderful too. Their whole thing is fit and superior quality. I’d like to try one of their regular bras or a bralette next because the quality is soooooo much better than my other underwear!

Laura, I was so grateful they didn’t require that. I remember some bloggers about a year or so ago wrote reviews for another brand and I do recall a couple of them posing in the undies. There’s no way I would do that since anyone can see or rip off the photos. Call me a prude, but just no 😉 On the other topic, that’s great that Brian has a 4Runner. Jeff’s is ancient and it has more than 250,000 miles. He’s so bummed because he’s going to have to get a new car fairly soon, but Toyota doesn’t make the 4Runner in a manual form any more and they haven’t for quite a while. He’s bereft! BTW, how r u doing?

Our 4runner has about 195,000 miles on it and is still going strong. Brian loves it and does his best to keep it well maintained.
I saw my surgeon earlier this month. My tissue is still not healing properly. I am being super careful.
My hormones are a mess. I have lost over 50% of my hair in mere months. I am upset. I see that doctor Feb 4th. Seriously I am ready to shave my head at this point! Brian tries to keep me calm about it but you know women and their hair.
I can certainly understand how upsetting that is. What a terrible drag! It seems like no one was able to predict anything that has happened post surgery. Medicine still doesn’t have all the answers unfortunately, but I’m sure your doctors are trying. With so many different things going on at once, it certainly is a challenge. Feb. 4 is next week, so hopefully you’ll get a POV from the hormone doc. In the meantime, why not get an inexpensive fashion wig in a fun color just to boost your spirits?
I have thought about a wig to keep me from “wigging” out about my hair. 😉 I used to have super thick hair so I could probably find one that would fit now.
Haha! hope the hormone doc will have a better idea, but maybe in the meantime, it would be fun. If you do, let me know what you get (I’m routing for red, pink or purple 😉 I’m glad you are keeping your spirits up with your great sense of humor!
These companies rarely carry anything sexy (if anything at all) for the plus sized gals like me. I like the bra you picked out, though! Glad it’s comfy as well as sexy.

Thank you, Nidia! I used to work as a focus group moderator for a bra manufacturer, and they tried to come out with a line of larger sized lingerie, and then the company got sold to Fruit of the Loom. I lost my gig, and they never came out with the new line 🙁
