Valentia Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer: Affordable Luxury

One of the benefits of being a beauty blogger is getting to try out a lot of skincare products. Back in my “civilian” days, I stuck with the same moisturizer probably for about 10 years. I still like that moisturizer, Olay Regenerist, and I think it’s a good one, but I am happy that I’ve gotten a much broader idea of what is available at a variety of price points.

Valentia Skincare is a brand I’ve written about in the past. Valentia’s Vitamin C Serum is one of my faves – the citrus scent and the viscosity are perfect IMHO, and I like their True Glow Eye Cream as well, gentle and effective. What strikes me most about Valentia is that they make high quality skincare products with excellent natural and organic ingredients at an affordable price. Plus it’s cruelty-free. When I’m buying my own skincare, I’m on a budget, so the value equation is really important to me.

I received Valentia Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer from Brandbacker, the bloggers’ organization, about 3 weeks ago to try out in exchange for an honest review. I’ve been using the product primarily as a nighttime moisturizer because I don’t believe it has sunscreen in it, though Valentia suggests it can be used for both daytime and nighttime.

Valentia Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer is formulated with lots of natural ingredients to address dryness, uneven skin tone and dullness. Here’s a description of the key ingredients in the moisturizer:

  • Botanical Hyaluronic Acid: This plant based substance penetrates deep into the skin to secure moisture, support skin elasticity, and plump the skin from within.
  • Kojic Acid: Known for its skin-lightening properties, this antioxidant helps to naturally control melanin production and prevent dark spots.
  • Ginseng: A symbol of long-life, strength, and wisdom, Ginseng boosts skin-firming collagen, fights wrinkles, and gives the skin a brighter and more energized look.
  • Safflower Oil: Rich in linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid that helps to repair the skin’s natural moisture barrier, providing superior protection.
  • Shea Butter: This wonder nut contains a myriad of regenerative vitamins and essential fatty acids, providing a welcome dose of moisture, hydrating and nourishing the skin.

The moisturizer itself seems to me to be a gel-cream, my favorite type of moisturizer.

Although it is rich, it doesn’t feel heavy. After I wash my face and apply toner, I love putting this cream on. It’s so comforting, and my skin feels plumped. It also gives me a nice glow without looking shiny or greasy. Because it was developed for all skin types, I know Valentia Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer will be perfect for my skin even when it reverts to its super-dry state this winter.

Valentia Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer has a pleasant, very light floral scent that disappears right after it is applied.

It comes in an amber glass pump bottle to maintain the efficacy of the product and its ingredients. The bottle looks simple and elegant, and it’s clean and easy to apply. It contains 4. fl. oz./120 ml, and I expect this good-sized bottle will easily last me through the winter.

Priced at $25, I think it’s a good value for what you get: lots of lovely moisturizer with great natural and organic ingredients including hyaluronic acid, one of my must-haves especially for winter, and it’s cruelty-free and parabens-free too. If you’re shopping for a new moisturizer, definitely take a look at Valentia Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer. Visit the Valentia Skincare website for more information on the moisturizer and their other terrific skincare products. Valentia is sold on their website and on Amazon. It comes with a money-back guarantee. BTW, when I received my moisturizer, it included a card that mentioned you can get a 15% off coupon code by signing up for emails at the Valentia website. And while you’re at it, check out Valentia on Facebook and Instagram.

  1. This does sound like the perfect price, I would pay $25 for a moisturizer that sounds as great as this, especially with the bonus 15% off at checkout. I might use it during the day as well as I use a foundation most days that has sunscreen in it, but you’re right, it would be nighttime if not!

  4. It just amazes me that Valentia creates such high quality products at such an affordable price point. This is a colossal size compared to most moisturizers that tend to be 1-2 ounces! $25.00 for 4 oz. is nothing short of phenomenal. 16. Hi Allison, I have been wanting to try the eye cream for some time. It is still on my Amazon wish list since your positive review of it. I may have to add the face moisturizer too. Right now I am lucky if I can muster the energy to swipe my face with a wet wash cloth. I just had another surgery the 16th and the recovery has been terrible. The bright side…I am getting the beauty rest of a 1000 women presently. 😉

    1. Laura, I’ve been thinking about you and wondering if you were in the midst of having your surgery. I’m glad that you are over it, but I am so sad to hear that it’s a difficult recovery. You’ve been through so much. I’ll be thinking good thoughts for you that you’ll turn the corner soon. Thank you so much for letting me know what’s been going on and how you’re doing. I truly hope you’ll be feeling better soon. I’m glad you have Brian to take good care of you. xoxo

Sounds great Allison. I’m finishing up my current Nuetrogena moisturizer and I believe this will be my next one.Great price point for such skin loving ingredients and a nice amount. Thanks for the review,I’m going to put it right on my Amazon list to purchase in a few weeks. 🙂

    1. I don’t think you’ll regret buying the Valentia moisturizer, Laura. The 4 oz. bottle will definitely last you a long time. And for me, it’s the perfect weight – fine for warm weather but definitely rich enough for colder weather. It reminds me a lot of a $250 moisturizer I received from Bellatora that’s sold at Barneys NY. It has the same type of formula but this is 1/10 the cost. If you do get it in the coming weeks, let me know how it works for you 🙂

  30. I’m not familiar with this brand, thanks for the introduction!
