I’m very excited about my new Beauty & A Book giveaway in conjunction with Fashion Flash, and I think you will be, too! I’m calling it a Valentine’s giveaway, but the makeup and book that we’re giving away are wonderful all year!
As I mentioned last time I hosted a Beauty & A Book giveaway, it’s called that cute name because we’re giving away several beauty products and a book.
I’m going to start by telling you about the book. Last time, we gave away a mystery/romance novel. This time, we’re giving away the most adorable and well-designed journal that’s great for beginners and experienced journalers alike.
Ladies Road Map Journal
As you may know, Ladies Road Map is a relatively new addition to the Fashion Flash family, joining us about a year ago. Here’s their story.
Lana and JoJami are co-hosts of the Ladies Roadmap podcast where they discuss topics for women 40+ and interview women who are making things happen in the world. Their mission is to create ever evolving roadmaps to staying ageless in mind and spirit. The two women are life long friends who met in California years ago as young moms. Both became successful businesswomen: Lana an Interior Designer and JoJami an Image Consultant/Fashion Blogger. And both are journalers. In fact, they believe that journaling has helped lead them to who and where they are today.

Thus, they created the Ladies Road Map Journal that is illustrated with the most charming illustrations that make using it even more fun.
Another thing that I love about it is that, if you’re new to journaling, the LRM Journal walks you through how to get started. It’s much more than keeping a diary; it helps you put everything that’s important to you – including things you may not even have known were important to you – in one place. A place where you can make sense of it all. Plus, it’s the right size to pop in a tote bag and bring with you for whenever you have a few moments to update it or just jot something down that you want to think more about later.

The other night I was looking through the most recent catalogue from Ulta Beauty, and I came upon an adorable OMG! hairband that is perfect for keeping your hair out of your face when you’re applying makeup or removing makeup and washing your face. L.O.V Face Palette
From the European brand L.O.V, we’ve got The Shape x Glow Face Palette. The well-made sturdy cardboard palette snaps shut with a magnetic closure that protects the large, very useful mirror and pressed powders inside. It contains two shades of highlighter, two shades of blush in two different finishes (satin and shimmer), a bronzer that can also be used for contouring, and translucent powder. It’s perfect for travel or for keeping at the ready for anytime.
The shades are nicely but not overly pigmented. For me, that is a real plus. I don’t like my face makeup to be overly obvious. I prefer it to look like my skin but better, and these shades are perfect!

Eleven Skin Brush
The white bristled and handled makeup brush from scientific skincare maven, Eleven Skin, is perfect for applying the makeup in the L.O.V face palette. It’s made from super soft bristles. And it comes in a plastic sleeve for travel or to keep it clean. A nice addition to my brush stash, and I think you’ll enjoy it too.
You know that I prefer lip gloss to liquid matte lipstick for my dry lips. So lucky me, in addition to getting lip gloss, I got my go-to shade, a lovely opaque MLBB peachy-mauve called Pucker.
And it has SPF 15! Social Paint Color Lip Gloss isn’t sticky, so I don’t get my hair stuck in it. For a lip gloss, it is relatively long wearing, I get about 3 hours wear. I’ve been looking to upgrade my make up collection. I always put myself last on the list so a lot of my products are old and just need to be thrown out. I have just started journaling. I see a counselor and I recently started EMDR Therapy for PTSD. Both of my counselors have recommended journaling to help with racing thoughts and yoga. I’m doing everything I can to start taking better care of me through self-care.
The New Year’s resolution i’ve really tried to stick to is staying on track with planning and even splurged on an Erin Condren planner to stay motivated. I don’t currently journal but I used to. I recently began teaching my daughter about journaling and encouraging her to do it. I suppose I should start journaling again as well. It is rare that I treat myself to something nice! With three kids, someone always needs new shoes, or new glasses. This would help me to feel beautiful without feeling guilty. I do some journaling, but would really love to do it more often.

I would love to win this for myself but the journal, I’d have to give to my daughter. She always writes and now with my 4 month old grandson, she has a lot to write and journal about.
