Tarte Giveaway Winner

First things first. I’d like to congratulate Julie W., the winner of the Tarte Shape Tape Setting Powder giveaway. Her name was randomly chosen by Rafflecopter, and it was a good choice because she uses setting powder everyday. For those of you who entered, tweeted, followed, subscribed, and liked, thank you and please stay tuned because I have more giveaways coming up soon!

City Beauty Sale

Next, as I’ve mentioned a number of times, I shop my City Beauty faves when they have a sale. City Beauty is having a private, flash 40% off sale on one of my favorite skincare products, Multi-Action Sculpting Cream, today through this Friday, October 30.

The cream, usually priced at $67, will be discounted to $40.20. I reviewed Multi-Action Sculpting Cream here if you missed it and want to get the details. Multi-Action Sculpting Cream is a firming cream. I use it primarily along my jawline to try to keep my paternal grandmother’s jowls at bay for as long as possible! Warm Vanilla Spice Scents for Fall and Winter

Although many people are salivating over pumpkin spice everything, I love vanilla spice. When it comes to fragrance, the warmth of vanilla paired with other warm and spicy ingredients is my comfy, cozy, go-to scent combo as the days get shorter and the temperatures get colder. For me, the ideal vanilla has its natural sweetness tempered by the other ingredients, so the resulting scent is not cloying or like wearing a sugar cookie!

So which scents have I been wearing, you wonder? I’ve been pairing an old favorite with a new discovery.

Farmhouse Fresh Vanilla Bourbon Body Oil

Farmhouse Fresh Vanilla Bourbon Body Oil is my old favorite (reviewed here). In fact, I have been using it for two years as an after shower body oil. The vanilla bourbon scent is scrumptious, crafted from Madagascar vanilla and small-batch Texas bourbon. The body oil, with skin revitalizing omega 3,6 & 9 fatty acid, is a wonderful hydrator: it contains a blend of grapeseed, olive fruit, apricot kernel, orange peel, sunflower seed, and jojoba oils as well as shea butter, cocoa seed butter and vitamin E.

I have been using it lately to layer under another vanilla-scented fragrance to use it to help the fragrance last longer and project more.

If you are starting to think about holiday gifts and stocking stuffers, I strongly recommend Farmhouse Fresh Vanilla Bourbon Body Oil. Any vanilla fragrance lovers would be delighted to receive this delectable, natural and cruelty-free oil.

The glass bottle of Vanilla Bourbon Body Oil contains 4 fl. oz. and is priced at $23.

LUSH Turmeric Latte Body Spray

On several occasions, I’ve mentioned that I belong to a couple of fragrance enthusiast groups on Facebook. And through those groups, I have been enabled way more than I ever imagined! I’ve been introduced to so many new fragrances, and I have probably bought too many. That said, here’s another one, lol.

One of the members of the group who happens to live in England mentioned that a vanilla perfume that she loved from LUSH was being discontinued, so she stocked up. Her description of the fragrance sounded so perfect for me that it got my attention immediately. She and I had quite a long online conversation about it! Although the fragrance in the UK is an EDP (eau de parfum), the scent in the US (that may or may not be going to be discontinued) is a body spray, Turmeric Latte Body Spray.

The key notes are turmeric, gardenia, tonka bean, benzoin, and vanilla. The turmeric gives the fragrance its spice, and the vanilla, tonka and benzoin make it cozy, creamy and warm. The scent is heavenly, and I love it!

Turmeric Latte Body Spray comes in a witty plastic spray bottle that looks more like a Lysol bottle than a fragrance. But the heavy duty spray bottle is actually more effective for an all-over body spray than the delicate sprays that most perfume bottles have.

Speaking of an all-over body spray, the formula has glycerin in it so it will be gentle and hydrating enough to spray everywhere.

LUSH Turmeric Latte Body Spray contains 6.7 fl. oz. and is priced at $49.95. It is cruelty-free. If this scent appeals to you, act fast. It is currently out of stock at lushusa.com and at several of the stores near me, though it is still available at LUSH on Newbury St. in Boston. I assume that it is available at stores elsewhere. However, I think that Turmeric Latte was introduced about a year ago as a limited edition, so it could disappear, though it seems to be very popular. Turmeric Latte also comes as one of LUSH’s most popular bath bombs, so I am hoping the scent will be continued.

The two of these vanilla spice powerhouses are absolutely amazing together. These days when people can’t get too close, it’s nice to have a scent combo that suits my taste and also projects even to those who are not right next to me. They’re my new cold weather faves without a doubt.

Are you a fan of vanilla scents like I am? Which are your favorites?
