Vichy Neovadial Replenishing Anti-Sagginess Day Cream

Recently, I reviewed the Vichy Neovadial Replenishing Serum for menopausal and post-menopausal women. I mentioned that I would come back and review the second product in the collection that I received.

Vichy Neovadial Replenishing Anti-Sagginess Day Cream

Although “Anti-Sagginess” may not be an actual word, it nevertheless caught my attention. As another word for “firming”, at least it shows some creativity. Plus, anything that firms is of interest to me, especially since my neck surgery. I was eager to try this Day Cream that is flagged for post-menopausal women whose skin may be producing less lipid and thus have drier and less firm skin.

Ingredients and Benefits

A very nourishing cream, Vichy Neovadial Post-Menopause Day Cream contains many of the ingredients in the Neovadial Serum:

  • Proxylane: provides firmness and reduces the look of wrinkles
  • Cassia Extract: plumps and firms
  • Vitamin B3: antioxidant to restore radiance
  • Omegas 3-6-9: replenish skin lipids
  • Vichy Volcanic Water enriched with 15 minerals: strengthens the skin barrier and protects the outer skin from environmental damage

In addition to replenishing lipids for firmer and hydrated skin, the cream has a light fragrance that was both allergy and sensitive-skin tested (though if you can’t breathe in scents, skip this one because the fragrance is initially noticeable).

Ingredients: AQUA / WATER / EAU • GLYCERIN • DIMETHICONE • BUTVROSPERMUM PARK BUTTER / SHEA BUTTER • ORYZA SATIVA BRAN OIL/ RICE BRAN OIL • NIACINAMIDE • CETEARYL ALCOHOL • CETEARYL ISONONANOATE • CARTHAMUS TINCTORIUS SEED OIL / SAFFLOWER SEED OIL • GLYCERYL STEARATE • BEHENYL ALCOHOL • ZEA MAYS STARCH /CORN STARCH • GLYCERYL STEARATE CITRATE • DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER • SODIUM POLYACRYLATE • SODIUM PHYTATE • ADENOSINE • DISODIUM ETHYLENE DICOCAMIDE PEG-15 • DISULFATE • TOCOPHEROL • POLOXAMER 338 • ALCOHOL • PROPYLENE GLYCOL • HYDROXYACETOPHENONE • CAPRYLYL GLYCOL • HYDROXYPROPYL TETRAHYDROPYRANTRIOL • CAPRYLOYL SALICYLIC ACID • CITRIC ACID • CASSIA ANGUSTIFOLIA SEED POLYSACCHARIDE • PENTAERYTHRITYL TETRA-DI-T-BUTYL HYDROXYHYDROCINNAMATE • FRAGRANCE

My Experience Using the Product

I love the almost pyramidal glass jar that the Vichy Neovadial Day Cream comes in. It’s very attractive. When I use it, I use a beauty spoon to keep the contents clean.

The Day Cream is white and rich. It is definitely hydrating and it feels firming. However, it is a thick cream that feels somewhat heavy on my skin. What surprises me about Vichy Neovadial Day Cream is why it’s a “day cream”? There’s no sunscreen in the cream, so it must be used along with an additional sunscreen. That just makes it too thick for me to wear during the day, especially if I’m wearing foundation. So I use it as a night cream instead.

Although I can manage skincare with fragrance, I wish this firming cream wasn’t scented. Because I would like to be able to use it on the still swollen skin under my chin and along my jawline, my skin is ultra-sensitive and the fragrance hurts. Boo.

So my feelings about Vichy Neovadial Replenishing Day Cream are mixed. There are just a few things that don’t work for me right now. But if you’re interested, you should consider trying it because it might suit you better.

Nevertheless, I am glad that Vichy has launched the menopausal and post-menopausal skincare collection. Vichy’s first menopause skincare line launched in 1992, and they’ve conducted 30 clinical studies on 1500+ women and published 9 scientific papers to date. I hope they keep working in this area and may some tweaks to this Day Cream.

Vichy Neovadial Replenishing Day Cream is widely available. It’s sold for $44 on the Vichy website

I haven’t tried this brand, yet. I love a rich cream but I agree, something lighter is better under makeup.

    1. It seems that Vichy has been researching skincare products for menopausal women for about a decade which is good news. However, between the richness for daytime, the face that you need a separate sunscreen and the strong fragrance, I would say it’s a pass for me. (Thank you for taking the time to comment xoxo)

  3. I am a big fan of Vichy products, but it really is too bad that this is scented, Allison. I definitely understand why your feelings about this cream are mixed as a result.

  4. I didnt realize you had neck surgery — I hope you are recovering well! I have tried a few things from Vichy and really liked them. Particularly some toner I got from Skinstore in a tiny sample size. Id be interested in a neck cream for the very same reason. Just the last few weeks I was touching my neck and thought ” my neck skin feels really really soft which is nice….but then the skin kinda moves a lot. So its definitely lacking firmness that I rememver there once before. A shame they made this too thick to layer with other necessary products.
