Victoria Beckham Beauty Eyeliner Kajal Satin

I Bought This, Affiliate Links

As usual, I was scrolling through Facebook late at night and a beauty ad caught my eye. This was for Victoria Beckham Beauty. I was never a fan of the Spice Girls, so it wasn’t Victoria Beckham’s name that caught me. It was a grey eyeliner. You know I am always on the hunt for grey and silver eyeliners. And of course, they had a Black Friday/Cyber Week sale going on.

I was smitten with a new shade called Sea Grey. I always thought my eyes were sea grey, though technically, they’re blue. I thought it was a metallic medium grey, although in the photos, it looks like silver. I knew that I would be happy with either metallic medium grey or with silver. Today, I noticed that in “mouse type” it is described as shimmery gunmetal. That’s accurate.

While I was at it, I looked through the other shades. There are 7 shades: Bronze, Cocoa, Ash, Black, Bordeaux, Sea Grey, Navy Noir. The shade, Ash, looked like a charcoal grey so I decided to add that to my order.

The description of the Satin Kajal Liner is quite accurate, IMHO. “…creamy, highly-pigmented pencil that delivers every look with ease and waterproof wear that lasts all day.” The liners are very creamy, and they even go on my upper waterline with no problem. Their key ingredients account for the creaminess:

  • CHAMOMILE EXTRACT (CHAMOMILLA RECUTITA (MATRICARIA) FLOWER EXTRACT): Known to provide calming properties to both color and skincare formulations.
  • PANTHENOL: Plant-derived provitamin B5 that has many benefits including deeply hydrating and calming the skin, and boosting skin’s ability to fight off environmental stressors.
  • VITAMIN E (TOCOPHERYL ACETATE): Vitamin E derivative that provides antioxidant activity.

Though they’re creamy, on my dry eyes they stay put. They last on me for hours and hours. The only downside to a creamy formula is that the pencil needs sharpening after every use. And to get the point back, it means I will use up the eyeliner pencils quickly. Oh well. There’s also a smudger on the other end of the pencil.

I love the Sea Grey shade. In reality, it isn’t silver. It is medium grey with a metallic look when the light shines on it. I will mostly wear it over grey matte shadow for a little flash, with green or plum. I think it would even work for a deeper edge with a silver shadow.

The Ash liner, however, is a bit of a disappointment. On me, Ash is really black. Look at the swatches on my arm and tell me that Ash isn’t black. Ammirite? I see that the shade is described as “matte graphite grey”. I’d say graphite black.

It’s the darkest charcoal I have ever seen. I have about a million black eyeliners that I have given away, and quite a few that sit mostly unused in my eyeliner holder. Boo. But all is not lost! I discovered that the creaminess of the eyeliner makes it perfect for tightlining my upper lashline or my upper waterline. Yay. I can use it!

Nevertheless, I wish I had bought the Bronze so I could throw out the Araceli bronze eyeliner that I got from Ipsy that is too stiff and doesn’t show up when I wear it. Actually, I should just throw the Araceli eyeliner out anyway. I’ll keep an eye out for another sale on the Victoria Beckham Beauty website, and try the Bronze sometime in the future.

The Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal Liners were nicely packaged, and they came with a drawstring canvas bag with the Victoria Beckham name on it. Frankly, I could have done without the bag and I would have preferred the eyeliners to be a dollar or so less expensive, lol.

I paid $2 to get a pencil sharpener because I misplaced the 5 eyeliner sharpeners that I already own. (Oops, I didn’t do such a great job cleaning it even though it came with a cleaner.)

At $28 for 1.2 g / 0.042 oz., I think the Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Liners are a little pricey. But I am a fan of the creamy formula that is long lasting on me. The liners are: Long-Wear, Waterproof, Safe for Waterline Use, Dermatologist Tested, Ophthalmologist Tested, Safe for Contact Lens Wearers, and Gluten Free.

    1. Kylie eye pencils are a good alternative, and you can pick them up or order them at Ulta. I still love Victoria Beckham pencils. I’ve been kinda waiting to see a Black Friday sale from VB, but I think I will have to go to the website and see if there is one. I’m so happy to hear that you’re a fan! If you try the Kylie pencils, LMK what you think xo

  7. Katherine says:

Hi Allison! I feel like an absolute idiot – but how do you get the liner to twist up to reveal more of the pencil? I’ve used mine 8-9 times but now I’m down to a nub and I can’t figure out how to get more. This can’t be all there is, right? Appreciate any guidance! Thank you!

    1. Katherine, the Victoria Beckham eyeliners need to be sharpened with a sharpener. I bought a couple when I ordered since they seem to fit them better than the one I bought at Ulta. I hope you can find a sharpener that works! Although twist-up pencils are easier, I think ones that you have to sharp work out better since you can get a good point. LMK if this helps!!
