This month, it took only two days for my ipsy bag to get from the central post office in MA to my local post office and delivery. Yay! So I got my bag only a few days behind most of the others. Things are looking up!
The October ipsy bag theme is The Art of Beauty, and it comes with a cute little rubbery bag with the motto: “Love of beauty is taste. The creation of beauty is art.” Lovely.
So what do I think about this month’s bag? Not bad, not bad…actually quite good. 🙂 Take a look for yourself by clicking on the 15 second Instagram video. I wish I could do a longer video, but Instagram has a 15 second limit.

So, this is what came in the bag:
- Zoya nail polish in Giovanna, the actual shade is a gorgeous blue-green, a little greener than it appears in the video, a full size product
- Starlooks lipliner in Tickle Me Pink
- La Fresh Oil-Free Face Cleanser by eco-beauty: a packet of 10 wipes that “gently cleanse & detoxify, removes light makeup”
- big sexy hair Blow Dry Volumizing Gel, a deluxe sample, 1.7 oz.
- two 1 oz. tubes (purse size) of Nourish Organic Coconut & Argan Body Lotion
As I mentioned in the video, the nail polish is by far my favorite, and I will enjoy using every bit of it. The color is just incredible!
My second fave is the Starlooks lipliner in Tickle Me Pink. I really liked the Starlooks Kajal eyeliner that I got last month, and I think I’ll have even more use for the pink lipliner than the black eyeliner since I’m more of a grey liner girl.
I tried the Nourish body lotion, and I like it a lot. It’s medium weight, absorbs quickly, and has a wonderful coconut scent. It feels very moisturizing. A definite keeper.
Frankly, I could do without the volumizing gel, my hair has plenty of volume, and the wipes are meh. I have wipes, and I don’t usually need them to remove “light” makeup. I want them to remove mascara without tugging. So I could’ve passed on those two, but maybe I’ll be surprised.
So, three good to great products, and 2 not so much. I would have loved the medium shadow brush that some subscribers got, and the Buxom lip polish would’ve been nice, too. Oh well, it’s a crap shoot, but still well worth the 10 bucks. The Zoya nail polish is usually about $8 on its own.
The best part is getting it in the mail and opening it to see what I get. I love that, just like a present every month.
An extra benefit is getting a percent off (20-30%) or another type of discount on subsequent purchases from most of the 15 brands participating in the ipsy program each month. Nice. For instance, Zoya has a buy 2, get 1 free offer on their nail polish. Ole Henriksen is offering 20% off their skincare products, very nice.
If you decide to take the plunge and subscribe or give someone a gift subscription ($10/month with free delivery in the US and, I think, Canada), please use my ipsy “referral link”: http://www.ipsy.com/?refer=u-hi4zrhtzss9sfsw. ipsy has a point program, in which I can earn points for each person who signs up, and I also get additional points for filling out a quick survey to give feedback on the products I received. The points can be redeemed for makeup. So, why not?
Major jackpot with this bag! I tried Ipsy a long time ago and was not impressed, I like all the items you received, especially Zoya!

I have to take off my mixed mani today, boo hoo, but I’m psyched to try that gorgeous Zoya Giovanna. That product alone would’ve made me happy, but I do love the Nourish organic lotion & I’ve been using the Starlooks lip pencil every day since I got it. I’m a satisfied customer. Maybe reconsider it, Tina!
