Wink Lash and Brow Enhancing Oil

As you get older, your lashes lose their color and they get sparser. So do your brows. Stress, waterproof mascara, not removing makeup, and a host of other transgressions also inhibit lash and brow growth. What a drag. That’s all I can say. But I am fighting it!

A couple of months ago, I wrote about using castor oil on my lashes. Castor oil is economical, but applying it with a Q-tip was kind of messy. Now, I’ve taken a step up with Wink Lash and Brow Enhancing Oil.

In addition to castor oil, it contains many other nut and seed oils including argan, jojoba, raspberry, pomegranate oils plus others I’ve never heard of! Wink Lash and Brow Enhancing Oil helps stimulate hair growth at the follicle. The folks who make Wink have learned through research that  if you supplement your eyelash and eyebrow follicles with essential fatty acids, you may stimulate prostaglanoid production, which results in fuller, longer lashes as well as fuller brows. Because the body can’t produce enough essential fatty acids, Wink includes omegas 3,6 and 9 from natural nut and seed oils to supplement EFA. Check out more of the science behind lash and brow growth here.

What I also love about this product is the applicator. It comes in a recyclable aluminum pen with a brush tip for easy application.

The directions for use are quite specific. The pen comes charged with enough oil for 60 days. You twist the top of the pen 360 degrees to charge the pen initially, and then turn it once 180 degrees to move the oil onto the brush each time you use it. It’s very easy to operate. Then you brush the oil along the edge of the lashes or along the brows. The instructions say you can rub in the oil if you like, but I figure the brush does a good job distributing the oil.

I’ve been using Wink Lash and Brown Enhancing Oil for about a month, primarily on my lashes. I’ve been trying to use it most nights. I take care to make sure I apply the oil to the little lashes on the inner corner of my eyes and the very outer corner of the my eyes where the lashes are sparsest. Using Wink Lash and Serum Enhancing Oil has definitely made a different for me. I have more lashes than a had before I started. And my lashes are longer than they were before I started. My lashes are still blonde and you can’t see them unless I wear mascara, but I’m glad they’re there!

Wink Lash and Brow Enhancing Oil is all natural, vegan and cruelty free. Each pen with a two month supply of enhancing oil is priced at $40. But if you subscribe to have a new pen sent to you automatically every couple of months, you save 5%. Wink Lash and Brown Enhancing Oil is made in the U.S., and it’s available through the Amalie website. There’s free shipping worldwide which is very nice indeed.

Amalie makes a second product, Shine Organic Brightening Oil. I am just starting using that one so stay tuned.

  1. I’m pretty sure you can’t grow more lashes as you have a limited number of follicles for hair growth, but they can definitely grow longer with moisturizing treatments!

    1. Hi Jedi Wife: Hope you’ll check out the answer from the owner of Amalie Beauty and you can check the science of lash growth on WebMD, for one source. You’re right that we have a limited # of follicles, but the lash growth cycle has three phases: growth, transition, resting. Essential fatty acids cause the dormant follicles to start to grow, and the body doesn’t make EFA so you have to get it from somewhere. I don’t know if you’re gone through menopause yet, but you’ll noticed that you have the growth cycle for everything slows down. The EFA in Wink or in castor oil on its own cause the follicles to start to grow.

  2. I’m pretty skeptical of products like this because I don’t think it’s really possible to grow more brow/lashes than what you have been given, but if it helps lengthen them that’s cool! My brows grow like crazy already but I’d maybe try it on my lashes!

    1. Hi Cat Ray, Hope you’ll check out the answer from the owner of Amalie Beauty and you can check the science of lash growth on WebMD, for one source. We each have a limited # of lash follicles and they differ by individual. However, the lash growth cycle has three phases: growth, transition, resting. Essential fatty acids cause the dormant follicles to start to grow, and the body doesn’t make EFA so you have to get it from somewhere. I don’t know if you’re gone through menopause yet (probably not coz you’d know that your lashes as well as your hair and nails aren’t what they used to be). During/after menopause, you’ll noticed that the growth cycle for everything slows down, boo hoo. The EFA in Wink or in castor oil on its own cause the follicles to start to grow, and it’s a beautiful thing!

  3. Creator of WINK checking in!

You’re both right to be skeptical: You can’t grow more than you ever had; you have a limited number of follicles when you’re born. What you can do is stimulate the dormant follicles to grow again. Our lashes thin naturally over time, from age, stress, diet, illness and poor hygiene. Some of the follicles will remain unexpressed. Essential fatty acids–which are literally all that the product is made up of–stimulate dormant follicles to grow again. These EFAs cannot be produced by your body, so you must supply them.

I was really stunned with the results from testing because I thought it was impossible that all the testers had more lashes at the end than when they started; this wasn’t a fluke, it was statistically significant. The research actually backs up what we saw, and you can find more of this on our site under “The Science of Wink” where we link papers.

    1. Thanks for jumping in, Megan!

  4. Ahh, this is the one that you mentioned! And I am happy to see the creator appearing here to give a comment too, it shows that she truly believes in this. I am using RapidLash currently but will definitely consider switching to this. I’ll head over and check their website, thank you for the recommendation, Allison!

    1. Yes, Shireen! I’m glad that Megan, the owner/creator weighed in, but even before she did, I had checked out the science of eyelash growth. I’m at the stage where my nails and hair don’t grow as well without help so I wasn’t surprised when my eyelashes became sparser. I had already been using castor oil which definitely made a difference, but Wink has the terrific brush and a great range of essential fatty acids through the variety of oils so I’m happy to see continued results with this easy to use lash/brow oil. I have to reread your review of RapidLash – I remember that you did had good results. Glad you’re still using it 🙂

  5. This sounds like such an interesting product! I haven’t used anything like this before, but the fact that it is an oil makes me really want to try it!

    1. Yes, you are the oil queen, Helen! I think you would like this one. The brush applicator makes applying the oil a breeze!

  6. I’ve tried lash enhancing serum without much luck, which is why I do lash extensions.

    1. I have dry eye and wake up with crusty eyes every morning so I can’t do lash extensions. Fortunately, both Wink Serum and plain castor oil work well for me

  7. I think I’m seeing results from this oil. My lashes are starting to seem thicker and I’m losing fewer lashes. I want more time with it to see if I have a dramatic result. I’m hoping for glamazon. 😉

    1. I hope you will too, Erika! I can tell that it’s working for me especially at the inner and outer corners where I had almost no lashes. Also, my lashes when I’m wearing mascara hit my glasses. Yay!

  8. Luckily I haven’t lost many lashes and my brows are still there too. I’m glad this available for those that need it!

    1. You have amazing thick, long lashes, Cindy! You’re so lucky you don’t need these remedies

  9. I’m so happy with this and Shine, their other product. I’ve been using them for over a month and don’t want to be without them. I laughed when I saw you wrote about Wink today while I wrote about Shine. I’m waiting until Shine comes back into stock before reviewing it but I can tell you that my brows look so much better now than they did before.

    1. I thought the same thing, Marcia, when I saw your review this morning! I wasn’t sure if I should wait till Wink came back in stock or mention that it’s been so popular it’s sold out now, but I felt bad that it’s taken me several weeks to get to it. And I’m just starting out with Shine. Wink really has helped regrow the little lashes on the inner corner and outer corner of my eyes as well as even out the middle lashes. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results!

  10. I was a little skeptical with this but am seeing results (yay!) My lashes look thicker at the base so hopefully the lengthening follows. Glad you like it too!

    1. Glad it’s starting to work for you, Bailey. Perhaps you didn’t have too many lashes in the transitional or dormant stage when you started using it.

  11. I love lash enhancing stuff. I have Revitalash, need to dig it back out, I forgot about it!

  12. I’ve noticed that my brows aren’t as full as they used to be, so maybe I’d try this on my brows! 🙂 Definitely sounds like a cool product.

    1. I haven’t really tried it on my brows yet, but it definitely has worked on my lashes.

  13. Now this sounds like an interesting product! I love that it’s more natural, less chemicals.

    1. This is definitely a good one to try. I was using castor oil alone, but this has additional oils with EFA that seem to make it more effective plus it’s easier to apply than my Q-tip method.

  14. I’m writing about this today as a post. I’ve had similar results, not as much length as I would have liked, but definitely noticed some. 🙂

    1. It sounds like Wink is starting to work for you. I think it’ll be interesting to see once the tube is finished.

  15. My lashes and brows are fairly full so I have never used anything to assist them. I know a few who might like this though!

    1. Spread the word to those who might need it! Wink works

  16. I tried their mascara and that was pretty good. I wonder if this will help my brows.
Aleya Bamdad recently posted…Ipsy Sugar Highness ReviewMy Profile

    1. Oh, I didn’t realize Wink or Amalie made a mascara! I’ve been using the oil almost exclusively on my lashes so I’m not sure about the brows. But I definitely have new lashes or lashes I haven’t seen in months as a result of using this

  17. I’m so glad these worked for you 🙂 x

  18. I didn’t know about the EFAs and lash growth – I have noticed that my lashes are not as long or curly as they were in my youth. I wonder if Wink would work for me!
